Chapter 28: Daredevil and the Hulk
Joey and Dash lead the group to their home which was actually a smaller version of the mansion that Seto owned. Danny was not surprised because he knew that Dash came from money. What troubled the young teen was the fact that Dash was actually being nice to him and not calling him names. But also the two ghostly images of their inner Midnight Son persona. Danny couldn't help the cold shiver that danced up and down his spine. Danny looked over at Yugi to see his friends fangs lengthening as he was letting out small soft pants.
'Shit!' he cursed to himself.
*It's alright Danny as I am in control. I can sense very strong magics in the air as it is partly reacting to Yugi's newfound abilities. No doubt the good doctor can sense the magics as Blade can sense our vampiric lust rising to the surface.* Atem stated mentally causing Danny to somewhat breathe out a sigh in relief.
A butler stood greeting the group as they entered.
"Jankins, can you escort our guests to the spare rooms. We will talk once after you have rested for a bit." stated Dash. The group looked at the jock in shock wondering how precisely he knew. But they didn't question it as it would give the group time to help Yugi before it was too late.
"Right this way sirs." stated Jankins as he led the group away. Once the group was away Joey turned towards Dash.
"Do you think it is a wise idea to bring them here?" Joey asked.
"Trust me Joey. I saw that look in your eyes. I know you felt it just as I did. The connection to those people. The other part of me seems to know that they are here for a reason. I think it is because of these items we have. Perhaps we can get some information and figure out what in the world is going on." Dash replied. Joey nodded his head in understanding as he said nothing more. He reached into his shirt pulling out a golden millennium key which was glowing. Ever since the object came into his hands, strange things have been happening. None of which were good.
After Jankins dropped the group to the spare back bedrooms. The group gathered in Yugi's room to help both him and Bakura with their insatiable blood lust. Bakura's lust was easily controlled but Yugi's was much stronger.
"It's far worse than the other times. There has to be something more we can do. Marik don't you know a spell or two to help them out?" Danny asked.
"I have tried every spell that I can think of. Atem's magic is far stronger than my own. I fear if I try to tamper anymore that the spells will backfire." Marik answered. He has seen what a backfire of spell could do to a person. It made them a shadow of their former selves. He didn't want that to happen.
"If only he could feed on stronger blood. Our blood isn't helping like it should. Pharaoh….. perhaps you should travel back to your homeworld. There your energies would be renewed and you will be able to feed on the strongest blood possible." Bakura stated.
"You have a point there. But I am not certain that I can truly access that world like I have once been able to. Remember Yugi is only half of what I used to be as I don't know how traveling to that realm will affect him. It may be far worse than anything that he has already gone through." Atem stated through Yugi. It was so bad that parts of Yugi's inner vampiric nature was surfacing despite the puzzle's best interest to hold it back. Even Atem's help and powers were limited to help his other half out. Soon a knock on the door cause the four to jump. Dash stood by the doorway.
"Sorry didn't mean to overhear your conversation. But I think I may be able to help out." stated Dash. Yugi's brilliant red eyes fell onto Dash as he slowly nodded his head that he was willing to try anything at this point. Everyone backed away from Yugi as Dash knelt down in front of the younger teen. Yugi's fangs lengthened to their full length as he sank them into Dash's arms. Dash let out a soft hiss as Yugi sank his fangs in as the younger teen began to take big gulps of Dash's blood. Dash's blood was far stronger than he would have thought possible. It almost felt like he was feeding on the Egyptian God's blood. Yugi could feel his vampiric tendencies die out returning him to close as human as possible. Before Yugi pulled away he allowed his tongue to sweep over the wounds sealing them up before he pulled away from Dash.
"Yugi…..?" Danny asked. Yugi looked up at Danny as his eyes returned to their normal red-violet color.
"I'm all right now. Thank you Dash." He stated. Danny looked at the jock almost in shock.
"I know that I have a lot of explaining to do. Perhaps we should go to the den to talk. My adoptive brother is waiting for us there." Dash stated. The group nodded their heads as they got up following Dash to the den. Sure enough Joey was sitting there in the dark as his lifeless honey brown eyes seemed to glow in the dark.
"Is everything all right now Dash?" Joey asked.
"Yeah….. I think we should explain things to them first." Dash stated. Joey nodded his head. Dash let out a long soft sigh as he turned his attention to Danny.
"Do you remember how I always picked on you calling you names and such? Stuffing you into lockers?" he asked Danny.
"How can I forget? You made my life a living hell." answered Danny as he could feel parts of his angelic nature surfacing but he remained in control.
"I am truly sorry for that Danny. I have no good excuse to why I did it. I had a lot of rage issues back then but that was before an accident changed me. It also caused Joey's blindness." Dash stated.
"Dash and I are adoptive brothers as my mom married his dad when we were kids. We were kept apart from each other only to see each other on holidays and weekends. My mom died during childbirth while trying to have my little sister. My baby sister didn't make it either as both died. That's when I went to live with Dash and his father since they were the only family that I had left." Joey stated.
"Times where tough for us as my dad did what he could to provide for us. But frankly it wasn't the right thing to do. My dad was working for a man simply known as Kingpin as he worked gathering money for protection. Joey and I witnessed it firsthand."
"I was devastated that our father would resort that kind of violence that I ran away from him when he tried to explain. In my upset rage, I ran into the street into oncoming traffic. A truck carrying toxic chemicals came bounding towards me. It would be the very last thing that I would ever see ever again."
"I rushed after Joey seeing the truck wasn't going to slow down in time. I managed to push Joey out of the way as the truck swerved to miss us as some of its contents spilled into Joey's eyes causing his blindness as I was covered in the chemicals."
"The chemicals reacted differently for the both of us. Because I had lost my sight, I had gained kind of an extra sensory perception. A radar sense. Even though I am blind I can see what you two truly look like and the things that you hold within you." Joey stated as he pointed to both Danny and Yugi. "I can also see the thing that Dash has become."
"Because I took a higher dose of the chemicals and my issues with rage and anger, the chemicals allow me to transform into a creature known only as the Hulk. I try my best to keep in control as only Joey is able to calm down the brute force within me transforming me back to normal."
"Our father was killed by the Kingpin as we both vowed to bring the mobster down by any means necessary. That's when we received these strange objects in the mail from an anonymous sender." Joey stated as he pulled out the millennium key as Dash showed the pair of black fingerless gloves that covered his hands.
The group looked at one another as Yugi and Danny sighed softly filling the two blonds about everything. The spirits of vengeance, the prophecy, the mystical items, the Midnight Sons, all of it. Everything that they needed to know. Now that the last two Midnight Sons have been found all that remained is to complete the prophecy and to stop this dark force that is out to destroy the world. But the group began to wonder just who in the world is this anonymous person who sent some of the group their mystical items and what is their tie into all of this?
T.V. Announcer: And welcome back to the Riders tribute. And here are you host's Scrletfyre and Drangonstar101. *audience claps as Scrletfyre enters in alone*
Scrletfyre: Welcome back everyone. As you can see my cohost isn't here today as she is busy reading over the notes for our story idea and the past chapters.
Dragonstar101 *comes running in tackling Scrletfyre in a hug*: Oh my… Thank you….. Thank you….. Thank you!
Scrletfyre *breaks free from Dragonstar101's hold*: Kay I give what was that for?
Dragonstar101: I frankly didn't expect you to write the whole chapter by yourself. God damn girl. Where on earth do you get your muses from?
Scrletfyre: What can I say? When I say that I have an idea, I plan it out in full detail. I can't help it if the muses work well with me. I also did the same thing for another teamup story that I am working on with another writer.
Dragonstar101: You have to tell me your secrets Scrlet.
Scrletfyre: Sorry no can do as they are trade secrets that I will take with me to my grave.
Dragonstar101: Meany! *Scrletfyre simply laughs at her as she tries transforming into wolf giving her the puppy dog eyes* Please….. Pretty please!
Scrletfyre *yelling*: No and that is final!
Dragonstar101 *pouts*: No fair!
