Chapter 29: magic battle
After explain what the Midnight Sons were and so on, Dash and Joey start to explain about strange happenings that was going on within Hell's Kitchen. At first Dash and Joey thought it was Kingpin. But after investigating the two fond no lead to if it was the Kingpin but, they could only guess that something was going to happen as they had no idea on how to fight against it.
"It's most definitely magic as if feels almost evil. I can sense that it is ancient but not as old as Atem's." stated Marik.
"It seems as if the sorcerer of this spell has two intended targets. One of them no doubt is Atem. If I had to guess their other target is possibly you Dash." stated Danny.
"Me? Why?" Dash asked. Joey looked at his older adoptive brother as if the answer was obvious. That is when it clicked for Dash. "Oh... So what do we plan to do?"
"Atem has already called Mahad here as his magics may help keep us tame. With everything that we have been through, I highly doubt that I can control half of my urges. Let alone the recent changes that I have gone through has left me vulnerable." Yugi stated softly. Danny felt sorry for his friend as it seemed ever since the very first incident, Yugi has been the one to suffer the most.
'Wish I knew that I could do something. God's only know how things would have turned out if I were in Yugi's shoes. I feel so powerless to do absolutely nothing to help him.' Danny thought to himself. Atem was also at his wits ends. His only chance was to stabilize both him and Yugi by going to the Shadow Realm in order to see the most powerful and ancient being that existed, Horakhty, the creator god of light. He had no choice as he had to chance it. If what he believed was coming, Atem was going to need the help of the most powerful creatures that existed within the Shadow Realm.
*Yugi….. We are going to need to borrow Joey's millennium key for a second. I need to do something as it may help us out in the long run. I must do it quickly before these magic casters can strike. I will not lose you again. I have done so much harm to your body, psyche, and spirit. I intend to fix it.* Atem stated mentally to his host.
*Fix it how?* Yugi asked the spirit.
*We need to go to the Shadow Realm, the very place that I was born from. I have to speak and feed on perhaps one of the most powerful beings that exist.* replied Atem. Yugi felt like the former pharaoh had a plan.
"Joey, Atem and I need to borrow your millennium key." Yugi stated breaking the silence.
*Atem….. Are you certain that this is a good move?* Phantom asked the pharaoh directly.
*Phantom….. I know that what I am planning is risky enough as it is. But I fear that the very things that we have one faced against in the past are coming back. That means Zorc the dark one for me and for you…..*
*Pariah Dark. No doubt they will be far stronger than they were in the past. God's help us but who is the third identity? I don't recognize its presence as it feels just as strong as powerful as those two.*
*I don't know but I intend to find out. I don't like going into this fight blindly. Once I have replenished and set up the link to all the millennium items, I suggest that you should travel back to your home realm. See what you can dig up.*
*I feel that you are right. Good luck Atem.* Phantom replied. Joey gave Yugi the millennium key as the former pharaoh took control over his host's body transforming into his full and true form. He then used the millennium key to unlock a doorway into the Shadow Realm before he gave the key back to Joey.
"I shall be back as quickly as possible. Doctor Strange you and the Dark Magician should set up a protection spell over the Hulk. It may hamper their plans for a bit." Atem stated. Marik nodded his head that he understood as the former pharaoh opened up his wings flying off into the Shadow Realm as the doorway closed behind him.
+The Shadow Realm with Atem+
On the other side of the doorway Atem sighed at the sight of what was once his home. The shadow realm tended look like the shadow version of where and whenever the door was opened up. So at the moment the Shadow Realm looked like Hell's Kitchen before it changed to show Atem the path to where he needed to get to.
*Atem why dose the Shadow Realm look like the Hell's Kitchen?* Yugi asked.
*The Shadow Realm tends to mirror the real world but it also likes to go through the past to show the darkness that men had caused.* Atem answered leaving Yugi speachless. The journey to wherever they were going was long and on occasion, Yugi would see bits a pices of the past and present because the Shadow Realm keep change its scenery. One scene caught his attention the most as he saw what he thought were his parents running from something. Yugi couldn't make out its form because its shadow was disorientated. Then the realm changed again to what Yugi thought was Egypt. *We're close abiou (partner).* Atem stated landing on the road as he began to walk to what looked like a temple. Two guards looked up and saw Atem approaching. One of the guards who happened to look like the Celtic Guardian ran up to him while the other went inside of the temple to send word along that Atem was there.
{They are awaiting for you Lord Atem as they know fully why you are here.} stated the Celtic Guardian. This didn't seem to surprise Atem as he nodded his head following the Celtic Guardian inside of the temple. The temple looked exactly like the one that Yugi had been in back in Egypt. Yugi couldn't help but to be amazed to see the real versions of the three most powerful creatures in all of Duel Monsters standing before him. But what caught his eye the most was the one he had only heard about in legends from the game, the creator god of light Horakhty.
{Welcome back home Lord Atem. Before we begin, I would like to meet your human half.} stated Horakhty.
*Atem?!* Yugi asked in shock as he felt himself become separated from Atem as the two stood side by side. Yugi felt a bit weak as he wasn't used to something like this happening.
{Sorry about that but I felt that in order to fix the rift that happened to the two of you. It will help with what you guys are about to face.} stated Horakhty. Both Yugi and Atem looked at the god of light as it seemed that he knew more about what was going on.
+With Danny in Hell's Kitchen+
Danny sighed today was just one wrong turn to another. What the hell was he to do?
*Don't worry too much Danny. I know your lost as to what is going to happen. But for now we need to open a doorway to the Ghost Zone. This way I can get more information on Pariah Dark if we want any chance to beat him.* Phantom stated.
*Wait... You beat him once before right?* Danny asked
*I went in blind last time. I'd rather not repeat it.* Phantom sighed. Suddenly a doorway opened up within the room scaring the hell out of both Dash and Joey.
"Its all right. Its only Atem's caretaker." Danny stated as Mahad stepped through the doorway and into the room. Mahad was in his Dark Magician form as he nodded his head towards both Joey and Dash. "Mahad... Atem wanted for you and Marik to set up a protection spell on Dash." Danny stated. Mahad simply nodded his head as he turned towards Marik.
{Can you describe to me what your magics are sensing?} asked Mahad.
"It feels ancient but not as ancient as Atem's. It also feels sinister and evil in nature. The main targets for their spell is Atem and the Hulk." Marik answered pointing at Dash.
{I see.} Mahad stated as he allowed his magics to flare up. The group watched in awe as the Dark Magician weaved his magics focusing on what Marik had told him.
+With Dartz and Necrophades+
Both spell casters could feel strong and powerful magic trying to track them down and prevent them from controlling Atem and the Hulk. Both
spell casters said very little as they weaved the spell to back fire on the being who was tracking them down. Evil smiles caressed their faces as the Midnight Sons had no idea about what was going to happen.
T.V. Announcer: And welcome back to the Riders tribute. And here are you host's Scrletfyre and Drangonstar101. *audience claps as the two hosts enter*
Dragonstar101 *sighing*: Why is it that I can't seem to focus on this story anymore? It's almost unbearable since I know that we are coming to an end.
Scrletfyre: It happens to the best of us. Anyway on today's show we are going to speak to both Dartz and Necrophades. So please welcome th to the show. *audience claps as the two enter*
Dragonstar101: Welcome to the show you two as it has definitely been a long journey.
Dartz: Thank You for having us.
Necrophades: Why does it feel so good to play the bad guys again? I mean even though we are doomed to fail.
Scrletfyre: It's the way you two seem to twist the characters given to you that makes us fear what you are capable of and always root for the heroes.
Necrophades *sighs*: Well that explains a lot.
Dragonstar101: So care to tell us what evil plans you guys are hatching for the next chapter?
Dartz *yelling*: Don't you know? You are the ones writing this?!
Scrletfyre: Actually I have taken over the project since my cohost has been having troubles with the story. *Atem and Phantom storm on stage*
Atem and Phantom *growling*: You have done what?!
Scrletfyre: Jesus guys take a chill pill. you do want this story to come to an end don't you?
Atem and Phantom: Yeah but... *turn to Dragonstar101*You are seriously going to let her do this?
Dragonstar101: She offered and I accepted. I can't write this story anymore as I cant seem to find the motivation.
Atem and Phantom *sighs*: Great... Just great!
Scrletfyre: You guys will have to deal with it!
