Chapter 2- Meet Team Fairytail
"So, are us five and the people you mentioned the only ones going? Still seems a little small for a decade quest," Lucy says. Erza, carrying the unconscious Natsu and Happy over her shoulder, shakes her head. "No, not necessarily. I have arranged for a few more people too."
Lucy nods and turns to look at Grey. Noticing the pained look on his face, she laughs. "What's wrong with you? You look like you just drank some spoiled milk or something." Grey shakes his head. "If that were all, I think I would be alright with it." Lucy gives him a questioning look. "What could possibly be so bad?" She asks. The stress in Grey's eyes increases. Erza turns to look at the two of them."Grey, it really isn't that bad. You know how strong we need this team to be. We have to have the most powerful of us together for this mission." Lucy is still confused. "I don't understand. What are you guys talking about? Why does Grey look so upset?" Erza gives the celestial mage a smile. "Why don't you tell her, Grey?" The ice-make wizard groans. "Fine. Erza wants to have the strongest team possible, so she asked that lunatic, Juvia, to come along."
Lucy sweatdrops. "Really? Is that all? I'm sorry to say it, but that, Grey, is pretty pathetic." While she was teasing Grey, on the inside, Lucy was ecstatic. Yes! Juvia is coming along! Maybe this won't be as bad as I thought. The thought of being able to spend ten full years with the rain woman was making Lucy's face red. Grey, assuming that Lucy's sudden color change was a result of her annoyance with his pettiness, moved a little further away from her.
"Calm down, Lucy" He says. "You look like you're gonna blow a fuse." Lucy shamefully hid her face from the other two wizards. "Yeah, you're right. Sorry," she mutters. Upon reaching the guild, Wendy runs up to them, trailed by her Exceed, Charle. Somehow noticing them, Happy wakes up. "Hi, Charle," he says. "It feels like forever since we talked." Charle sighs. "Well, it was only yesterday we talked, remember? You flew here while Natsu was too occupied with his training to notice you missing." Natsu jumps up, also somehow miraculously awakened from his slumber. "WHAT THE HELL, HAPPY?! WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE TRAINING!" Erza glares at the fire-dragon slayer. "Natsu, stop talking," she commands. Natsu returns her glare. "And why should I?" he questions. Erza smiles. "Because of this," she says while picking him up and shaking him, causing his motion sickness to kick in. "H-hey Erza, s-stop. T-that's not f-fair," he breaths. Grey comes up behind him and delivers a blow to the back of the already weakened fire mage's head, knocking him out. "C'mon, Erza. I know he's annoying, but that was just cruel."
Erza looks to Wendy. "Has anyone else decided to come along?" she inquires of the sky maiden. "Yes. Mira said she will." Erza smiles. "Good. We needed another S-class wizard. How about Cana?" Hearing the card-mage's name, she tries to hide her face. "Yeah, about that…" she begins. Erza frowns. "What is it, Wendy?" The blue-haired dragon slayer attempts to hide her blush. "She said to tell you kiss her ass." Wendy shamefully says. A dark aura seems to cover erza's body as she walks forward into the guild hall. Lucy pales. "This isn't going to end well," she mutters to Wendy. " Uh-uh," Wendy replies. About five minutes later, Erza emerges, followed by Gajeel, Pantherlily, Juvia, and Mira. On her shoulder, she carries Natsu and Cana, both knocked senseless.
Wendy sniffs the air. "There's a storm coming," she tells Erza when the approaching group reaches them. Erza gives her a little smile and points to the sky. "You could say that." she tells the loli. As the now-larger group of guild members look up, dark clouds fill the sky. Erza laughs. "Quit showing off and get down here so we can leave." she tells the clouds.
The rest of the [still conscious] team sweatdrops. I think she finally lost it, Lucy thinks to herself. She's starting to talk to the sky. Just then, thunder booms, a sound so loud, Pantherlily curls up in a ball. "Damn it, Erza! Why'd you have to tell him to come?" He moans. Lucy, confused again, looks up to the sky, and to her amazement, in the middle of the darkest cloud, one so dark it looked like obsidian, a golden dot appeared. Then, it started moving to and fro, sketching an image in the sky, an image that was very familiar to all of them. Hinging in the sky, was their guild symbol, drawn with lightning.
From the middle, a streak of lightning twirled its way down to the ground, ending in front of Erza. When the light show was over, the one wizard that nobody had expected to receive help from was staninking in the middle of their little group. Erza was the first to speak. "Glad you could make it, Laxus." He shrugs. "Honestly, I don't want to be here, but if you guys need help, you have to rely on the strong ones, don't you?" Erza grins a little wider. "Unfortunately, all that lightning going through your mind isn't altering your personality at all. It's a wonder you can still stand up." Laxus returns her grin. "So, when do we leave?" the thunder-dragon slayer asks. "Right now," Erza replies. She looks at each of them, including Natsu and Cana who had just woken up. "This is our team," she begins as she calls out their names and looking at them in turn. "Natsu and Happy, Wendy and Charle, Gajeel and Pantherlily, Grey and Juvia, Wendy, Mira, and Laxus. Let's go, team Fairy Tail!"
