Well, people have asked what pairings will be in this story, and I've been thinking of some ones that I can work with, like Natsu/Wendy, Erza/Jiraiya, and of course Naruto/Sakura. (Had to leave some of them alone, right?) Also, a friend of mine wants me to make Lucy and Juvia a couple and I've decided to go with that. Lastly, while not in the first chapters I've written, there will be lemon later on, but I'm trying to build the characters up to that. Please be patient. Now that my little banter is done with, this chapter will take place in the Hidden Leaf Village, two months after the Fairy Tail group accepted the mission. Sorry it took so long to upload. Had stuff going on.
Chapter 3- Nice to Meet You, Naruto!
"So, who are these guys we asked for help?" Naruto asks. Sakura gives Naruto her signature 'you're an idiot' stare. "How many times do I have to explain this to you? We don't know who exactly got our message. We sent it asking for help, and someone answered our call. They should be here today. It's been two months since we got their reply. All I know is that the people who received our call are on the same level as Kakashi-Sensei." Before Naruto could reply, Sasuke walks from around the corner and calls to them. "Hey, Sasuke. What's up?" Naruto asks. Sasuke looks them dead in the eye. "Those people we contacted two months ago about aid against the Chaos village, are finally here. They arrived just a few minutes ago. You should go meet them. I guarantee they aren't what you expected."
Naruto and Sakura nod their heads in thanks, and begin to follow him. About ten minutes later, they stop. "There" Sasuke says, pointing to a group of huddled ninja surrounding the group of newcomers. The three push through the crowd, stopping to stand in between Kakashi-Sensei and Jiraiya. As Sasuke had predicted, they were surprised at what they saw. A group of young, oddly dressed people were standing in a group. Sakura laughs. "Hey look, Naruto! One of them has brighter hair than you!" Naruto frowns "Who is she?" he asks pointing to a small, blue-haired girl. "She's part of the group that came to help us? She looks younger than me."
Kakashi looks down at them. "Ah, here they are," gesturing to the three leaf genin. "Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke, meet the Fairy Tail guild." Looking back to the redhead that seemed to be Fairy Tail's leader, he adds "these three students will be showing you around our village." The redhead in armor spoke up first. "Thank you. We are glad to be of service. We have heard many flattering things about your village. Allow us to introduce ourselves. My name is Erza Scarlet, and these are my comrades." Each announced their name in turn. Laxus, the thunder dragonslayer; Wendy, the sky dragonslayer; Gajeel, the iron dragonslayer; Juvia, the rainwoman; Grey, the ice mage. Naruto looks to Sakura. "What does mage mean?" he asks. "Beats me" she replies. Cana, the card mage; Lucy, the Celestial Spirit mage; Mira, the take-over mage, and Natsu.
Kakashi seemed satisfied."When we need you, we will call you, but for now, Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke will show you around. Please, enjoy the village." The three genin split Fairy tail into three groups. Naruto had Natsu, Wendy, Gajeel, and their Exceeds. Sakura got Juvia, Lucy, Mira, and Cana. Sasuke got Erza, Laxus, and Grey. After the group splits, Naruto begins questioning his group. "So, why do you call yourselves dragonslayers? You obviously didn't kill dragons." Gajeel laughs. "Of course we didn't kill dragons." Naruto frowns. "I don't understand. Why are you called dragonslayers?" Gajeel continues to chuckle. "We were raised by dragons."
"That's impossible! Dragons lived a long time ago. You couldn't possibly be raised by dragons." Natsu frowns. "They weren't around that long ago. An yes we were." Naruto's curl into a smile. "I don't believe it. How strong is your chakra?" Natsu gives his signature 'I don't have any idea what you're saying' look. "What's chakra?" he asks. Naruto sweatdrops. "What the hell do you mean what's chakra? Everyone knows what chakra is." Looking at the Fairy Tail group's blank stares, he sighs inwardly. "Chakra is the combination of physical, mental, and spiritual energy us ninja use to perform our jutsus. Surely you knew that." Once again, all he receives is a bunch of blank stares. 'What have these people been doing with their lives?' he wonders. "What's a jutsu?" Wendy asks. Naruto's jaw drops to a comical level. "Your friggin kidding me, right?" In his mind, Naruto was thinking Tsunade must be on something to hire a group of people who didn't even know what chakra and ninjutsus were to save the Leaf village. "If you can't use ninjutsu, then how do you fight?" Natsu laughs. "With our magic and fists! What else would we use?"
About twenty seconds of awkward silence. Naruto busts out laughing. "You expect me to believe that you use magic?" Natsu frowns. "Yeah, what's your point?" Naruto continues to laugh his butt off. "C'mon, quit pulling my leg. We both know magic doesn't exist." he says. Natu's jaw drops even further than Naruto's. "What the hell do you mean magic exists? Of course magic exists! How else would we fight?" Naruto looks at him. "Like this," he says while forming a familiar hand sign. "Shadow clone jutsu" he yells. Immediately, four more Narutos appear in a puff of smoke.
After watching the wizards' and Exceeds' mouths fall open (much to his satisfaction) he releases the clones. Naruto laughs. "Your turn. If you can do magic, prove it." Natsu's lips curl into a wide smile. "If that's what you want, then so be it." he says. About five seconds later, the ground begins to shake. Naruto gasps. 'This power, it's unbelievable!' he thinks to himself. When the rumbling finally ceases, a crater, about five feet in diameter is left underneath Natsu's feet. "That was amazing," Naruto says. "I guess magic is real." Three seconds later, the Fairy Tail members fall to the ground laughing. "That wasn't magic," Wendy says. Naruto pales. "What was all that power, then? It made a friggin crater in the ground!" Natsu gives him an apologetic look. "Sorry, that was my stomache. I haven't eaten since yesterday."
"Holy crap!" Naruto exclaims. Natsu chuckles. "Yeah, do you have any fire?" he asks the blonde. "No, but I can get some from Sasuke. " Naruto runs off to appear again in five minutes. "Here you go," he says, handing a torch to the pink-haired mage. Natsu graciously accepts the flames. Naruto rubs his hands together. "So, what are you gonna cook with it?" he asks expectantly. Natus gives him a questioning look. "I'm not gonna cook anything with it." he says. "What do you mean," Naruto begins to ask, but stops talking as Natsu lifts the flames up to his face. To Naruto's amazement, Natsu sucks the fire from the torch, leaving nothing behind but a burnt stick. "What are you?" Naruto asks. Natsu grins. "Oh, yeah, I forgot to introduce my self. My name's Natsu Dragneel. I'm Fairy Tail's fire dragonslayer. Nice to meet you, Naruto." he says with a burp.
