Yep, so Natsu is taking the role of sensei now. And no, I don't plan on having the Fairy Tail characters be godlike compared to the Naruto characters. Honestly, I have no idea how this is going to end now. I had the last couple chapters written down on paper before I posted them, but the future chapters I haven't even started to contemplate aside from some very basic ideas. I'm just writing as I go along and hoping everything turns out alright. I was thinking about adding a new dragonslayer later on, but I also don't have any ideas for that either. Along with the new dragonslayer, I plan on having Sting and Rogue come in too. I Lastly, they may not be used, but I am open to suggestions. If you have any ideas, feel free to post them in the reviews section. I do however have a basic plan already set, so if one or two of you guys' ideas follow that plan, they may just end up in the story. Anyway, thanks for sticking with me this far, and enjoy the next chapter!
Chapter 8- Natsu Sensei
They take a few minutes to let the information sink in."Um, train, like work?" Natsu asks, stumped. Tsunade nods. "Yes, if it's all the same with you. The way I see it, each of you have different skills, and are all very powerful. The skills you have also match some of the talents the genin have. I think that having you work with them could help them grow exponentially, and when the time comes, we're going to need all the firepower we can get in order to deal with the chaos village."
Before Natsu can object, Wendy puts her hand on his are, ever so slightly shaking her head to stop him. "Do you think it is possible to teach them magic?" she asks Tsunade. The hokage thinks for a moment. "I think so. Magic and chakra are extremely similar, so it shouldn't be impossible… although there are a few students here that may be pretty hard to teach." Natsu laughs. "I'm guessing you mean Naruto?" Tsunade nods. "That boy can be a real handful sometimes, but he truly has so much potential. If he could learn to wield a tool like magic, he may just be able to surpass us all."
Wendy looks to Tsunade smiling. "We came here to help. If you want us to train them, then that's what we'll do." Tsunade bows her head. "Thank you. I had Shizune compare the skills you demonstrated to the skills of the genin of our village and based on the results, group you with the students best suited for you. It goes as follows.
Natsu, I need you and Wendy to train Naruto and Sakura. Erza is paired with Tenten. Laxus is with Sasuke, and Gajeel is with Shikamaru, who is actually not a genin but a chunin, a level right above genin. Grey and Juvia will be with Neji and Shino. I understand that Happy and Charle have gone off somewhere together, and won't be able to assist us at the moment. Pantherlily is with Lee, Lucy is already training Hinata as we speak. Aparently the girl has a knack for being able to summon Celestial Spirits without having to use their keys. Cana is also currently training Ino, and I have Mirajane working with Chouji and Kiba, alongside Kiba's dog, Akamaru. If you have any complaints with the way I have them set up, feel free to suggest any alternatives. You all know your abilities better than I do."
"And the limits to how far we can push them?" Natsu questions with a grin, earning a jab to the ribs from Wendy. Tsunade smiles wickedly. "However far you want. Especially Naruto." The two share a knowing smile. Wendy pales, noticing the evil aura being shared by the two. "A- anything else you need?" she asks, really wanting to leave. Tsunade shakes her head. "No, that will be all for now. Thank you for your time. I expect great things from you two."
After all was said and done, Wendy motioned to Natsu to go ahead and leave. The fire dragon slayer frowned. "I don't think so. There's no way I'm going anywhere without you, and I'm not leaving you here alone." Wendy frowned. "Honestly, Natsu, you aren't that much older than me. I'll be completely fine on my own." Natsu shook his head. "Not gonna happen, Wendy. I'm not leaving you." Seeing she can't persuade him, she sighs. "Alright, wait outside then." Natsu begins to protest, but thinks better of it. "Alright. But don't take too long." He says, not realizing Wendy had already gone back into the building.
Tsunade looks up from her desk as Wendy enters, letting her paperwork slide into a drawer. "Yes, Wendy, is there something you need?" Wendy looks to the ground. Tsunade gets up and walks over to her, placing a hand on the sky maiden's shoulder. "What's wrong, Wendy?" The blue haired loli looks up, a downcast look on her face. "Are you sure this is a good idea? Out of all the members of our guild, I'm most likely the weakest. I just don't think there is anything I can really do to help anyone. I really don't think I'd be much use training someone."
Tsunade laughs. "Your joking, right?" she says, grinning from ear to ear. "Wendy, you healed a man who had the inside of his neck completely eradicated, and you think that you can't be any use training a ninja? Wendy, you are selling yourself so short. The girl I have you training, Sakura Haruno, is training to become a medical ninja. You have more skill in the area than me and Shizune combined, and the two of us have devoted our entire lives to the practice. Many people are going to get hurt in this war, and the majority of those people will come within an inch of death. When that time comes, Wendy, you may be the Hidden Leaf Village's most valuable asset."Wendy looks up, smiling. "Thank you, Milady," she says, wiping her eyes. Tsunade pats her head. "Don't mention it."
As Wendy turns to leave, Tsunade speaks again, her voice slightly lower. " So, Wendy, that Natsu out there. He seems extremely devoted to you." Wendy stops in her tracks, a blush covering her entire body. "W-what do y-you mean?" Tsunade laughs again. "Trust me when I tell you this, I can tell just by looking at him and you that your feelings for eachother run deep. Don't let him go, Wendy." The sky maiden nods, to embarrassed to speak. "Go on," Tsunade says. "He's waiting for you." Wendy nods again, hurrying to leave. As she steps outside, Natsu jumps in front of her. "So, how'd it go?" he asks, putting his hands on her shoulders. Wendy does nothing but nod, which is apparently not enough for Natsu.
"What happened in there?" Wendy shakes her head. "N-nothing. Let's just go home and get some sleep." Natsu continues to stare at her for a minute, but eventually nods, satisfied with the thought that Wendy was alright. Meanwhile Wendy was inwardly cursing Natsu for the suddenness of him jumping in front of her. She was also making a mental note that because of Natsu's sudden jump, she needed to change her dress when she got home.
