As I said before, I am trying to post more frequently, so please try to understand. I do have a favor to ask, though. I currently play guitar, and the songs I play are pretty much all somehow related to anime. Unfortunately, there is a dwindling supply of websites where I can find the tabs and sheet music for the songs I'm looking for, which brings me to my request. If any of you amazing people out there share my interest, feel free to leave some suggestions in the comments section. I also haven't been getting very much feedback on the more recent chapters, so I have no idea where I am with the people reading this. Go ahead and leave some comments, guys! I won't bite… All that aside for now, here is chapter 9. It's more of a filler chapter, but some key points are mentioned that will later come into play.
Chapter Nine- Wake-up calls and brilliant ideas!
"Rise and shine, everyone! We have training to do." Mira calls as she walks through the house shared by her, Natsu, Wendy, and Lucy. The members of Fairy-Tail had all been given houses to use while they were taking residence within the village. Each of these houses contained a group of members, although the choice on who would be living in each house was made by Tsunade, who didn't exactly know the personalities of the wizards. This of course, led to some fairly interesting scenarios.
For instance, while it may seem completely normal for one to walk around the house waking everyone up, your views might be changed when you realize that the one walking around the house, may not be dressed yet. At all. Completely naked. The current day begins as follows:
"Wake up, Wendy, it's time to get out of bed," Mira says with a smile while climbing on top of the sky maiden. Wendy opens her eyes to see Mira's unrestrained breasts directly in front of her face. "WHAT THE HELL, MIRA?!" Wendy exclaims, sitting straight up and, in the process, accidentally putting her head in between Mira's enormous boobs.
"Wendy!" Mira says, feigning shame. "I never knew you were so naughty!" the takeover mage moans. At this moment, Natsu just happens to walk in. Taken aback by the position of the two women on the bed, he begins to laugh his head off. "Wow, Wendy, I knew Lucy was a lesbian, but I had no idea you rolled that way too."
Wendy takes Mira's distraction as an opportunity to free herself of her "embrace," gasping for air. "Shut up, Natsu. You know it's not what it looks like," she says, her face glowing a brilliant cherry red. Natsu smirks. "Oh yeah,? Then why are you undressed, too?" he asks, pointing to Wendy's bare (and very flat) chest. The intensity of the color of Wendy's face increases tenfold. "I SAID SHUT UP NATSU! I SLEEP IN THE NUDE, JUST LIKE ALL THE REST OF THE DRAGONSLAYERS!"
Natsu keeps laughing. "I don't. Cobra, Laxus, and Gajeel always have their jackets on, and Sting and Rogue are a mystery, so unless they sleep in the nude, I think you're the only one." Wendy's face is practically steaming by now. "NATSU, I SAID…" Before she can finish, she slips, falling off of the bed. Unfortunately for her, in the fall, she had grabbed Mira's leg trying to stay on the bed, but only succeeded in bringing the S-class mage down with her. The two landed in a position which placed mira on top of Wendy's face, with Wendy's face in between Mira's legs.
To add to the awkwardness of the situation, Lucy chose that moment to walk in. "What's this about nude?" she says, very much in her birthday suit herself. "Morning, Lucy," Mira says cheerily, waving to the celestial spirit mage. "Well then," Lucy says. These are her only word before she has a record breaking nosebleed, sending her flying out the door and back down the hall. "Wow" Natsu says again. "She should really get that fixed."
He takes a moment to look down at the two girls on the floor. "And Wendy, you might wanna get your face out of Mira's crotch." Mira looked down with surprise on her face, apparently forgetting that she was even on top of Wendy. "Sorry about that, Wendy," she apologizes, standing up, yet not looking the least bit ashamed. Wendy continues to lay on her back, her face still a bright red, but more from lack of oxygen than embarrassment.
Twenty minutes later, fully clothed, Natsu and Wendy to the training ground where Tsunade had said Naruto and Sakura would be waiting. Seeing Natsu moving different than usual, Wendy moves closer to him, matching his step. "What's wrong, Natsu?" she asks, a little worried by his silence. The fire mage slows his pace a little, walking at a more leisurely pace. "Nothing, really. Just thinking."
This catches Wendy off guard. (Truthfully, it should surprise more than just Wendy, considering how very seldom it is that Natsu takes time to think.) "Thinking about what?" Wendy asks, also slowing down. Before answering, Natsu stops completely. "You know how when I ate Laxus' lightning, I was able to use it afterwards?" He says, looking to Wendy. The sky maiden nods, allowing Natsu to continue. "Well, the same thing happened when I ate the black godslayer fire, and Gajeel ate Rogue's shadow."
Wendy nods again. "I guess it seems like when we dragonslayers eat another kind of magic, we're able to use it afterwards." For the third time, Wendy nods. Natsu holds up three fingers. One by one they light with a different kind of magic, including his signature red flames, Laxus' lightning, and the black godfire flames. He holds up another finger, willing it to light with the dark fire he had eaten when fighting eclipsed Loke. "For some reason, it doesn't work if the energy is just energy.
I can't make the celestial stuff I ate that the eclipsed celestial spirit king was bathing in, and I can't make the etherion I ate when saving Erza back on the Tower of Heaven, so I guess we can only use magic we get from other people." "That makes sense," Wendy says. "What are you getting at?" she asks, looking him in the eyes.
Natsu returns her intense gaze. "What if we ate each other's magic? Would we both be able to use healing, fire, and wind magic?" He asks. Wendy takes a minute to think about it. "I don't know. Maybe Mira knows. We can ask her when we get back to the house." She looks up ahead to see Naruto and Sakura sitting under a tree. "But for now, we should get to work training."
