Love, love! Ever since I first saw you, my heart has been going super love, love! Tee-hee! As if there were eternal cyclones and never changing typhoons, my heart has been swirling with winds of L-O-V-E! I want to meet up with you in Noah's Ark! LOVE! LOVE!
Damn….Bastards… now I'm overly pissed. Revenge will be the pinnacle of my victory list.
"Um...where have I seen you before?"
My heartbeat quickened. Shit! Shit! There is NO WAY IN HELL Kasumi Matsumoto will be cursed with writing this letter! "No," I said, smiling nervously (like I would imagine someone would feel in this situation). "This is my first time talking to you..." I laughed nervously.
"...I'm sorry." I stopped laughing and looked up, surprised. (Ahem, "surprised.") "Even though you had the courage to give me this letter...I won't be able to answer your feelings..." His face looked sad. "There's already a girl whom I cherish."
"That girl..." I said. "...are you two...?"
"Unfortunately, she's not my girlfriend. Actually, she might be tired of me." His face turned away and his eyes got colder. "I think a brighter, more confident person would fit her better."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"...I decided to travel abroad without telling her. I wanted to change, too. I thought...I could see the world...become a better man. I know this sounds selfish, but I wish she could wait for me."
"Ah," I said. "That really is selfish." He flinched and stared at me, wide-eyed as if he didn't think I'd actually agree with him. I walked closer. "Asking her to understand without even telling her is totally unreasonable." His expression grew in awe. "If you love her so much, why is it necessary to delay telling her? From the moment you decided to change…you already changed." After a moment of staring at me, he lifted his hand—as if to place it on my shoulder—but froze as the door behind me opened. I turned around to see Kanako herself standing in the door way with eyes wide open.
"Kanako," said Tohru (Mr. Boring/Selfish), surprised as I was to see her there.
Kanako hid her face by ducking her head. "Oh my, I'm sorry," she said hurriedly. "It seems I have interrupted something...I..." The moonlight gave her tears a brilliant gleam.
Crying, Kanako ran out the door. "Kanako!" cried out Tohru. He ran after her. "Kanako!" I ran out the door too, then watched as Tohru ran to his love.
Knowing someone was near me, I crossed my arms. "Was that on purpose?" I asked Tamaki as he stepped out from the shadows.
"I don't know," was his answer. I looked curiously at him. He smiled at me. "He ran out and chased her."
I looked back at the hall where the two had been. "Yeah...he did." I said, barely smiling. Peeking at Tamaki's serene face, I had to recap what he said earlier. 'Our Ouran High School Host Club exists to bring fortune to girls'…strange yet true, he earned a little pebble of respect from me for doing this.
This beautiful dance ended with one last waltz for Tohru and Kanako. Everyone cheered as Tamaki announced that Kanako was the Queen of the ball. I actually laughed (now out of that godforsaken dress) at Tamaki's horrified expression when Haruhi was announced the King. But Kim and I completely cracked up when Tamaki ended up slipping on the (twins'!) banana peel in an attempt to save Haruhi from her first kiss. He just made it worst for himself and Haruhi ended up kissing Kanako straight on the lips. The girls in the background cheered and squealed (*ahem*fangirls*ahem*) Behind Kyoya's back, I grinned and high-fived Hikaru and Kaoru for their ingenious plan.
The night ended just fine for me. And for some odd, strange reason I will probably never admit to the Host Club...I felt like doing all that for Tohru and Kanako was worth it. Made me feel all tingly inside…
