A pair of the many cows in the Moo Moo Meadows were eating the smooth green grass as they were having their own little conversation.
"You know, is this our only purpose of living?" The first cow asked, swallowing his grass. "Just to stand here and serve as obstacles for the racers to bump into?"
The second cow shrugged as he continued eating. "Well, all we do is eat, poop, sleep, and moo. I guess we have to have something to compensate for that."
The first cow shook his head. "Yeah, but at what cost?" He suddenly mooed in pain as Toadette bumped into him face first. Toadette's pink standard kart exploded as Toadette fell on her back, anime swirls in place of her regular eyes as she groaned in pain.
"Sorry," Apologized the pink clad mushroom girl. "I guess I didn't see you there!"
"You wanna go in?" Koopa asked Dry Bones as they looked at the dark gorge from the edge of the bluish path within the mountain.
Dry Bones shook his skeletal hands as he shook his head. "No way. I got priority. Just because I'm undead doesn't mean I'm willing to sacrifice my life."
Koopa rubbed his chin as he nodded. "Hmmm... that's actually a good point. There's no use just going in there for the sake of-"
Suddenly, a spiky winged Blue Shell targeted them, exploding on contact. Koopa retreated into his green shell while Dry Bones collapsed into a pile of bones. Both of them were then knocked down into the bottomless black gorge by a Bowser Shell, which was tossed by Bowser Jr., who laughed as he sped away on his Dolphin Dasher.
"You turtles have to do better than that unless you wanna be soup!" Bowser Junior taunted for he suddenly was affected by a Thundercloud being pushed onto him by a random Mii driver, which in turn was potent enough to zap him and cause the reptile to shrink; much to his annoyance.
