I don't know about you, but when I think of Sky I always picture Anna Sophia Robb and when I think of Zed, I always think of a more-tanned Matt Lanter. Who do you think of when you picture them?

I arranged to meet up with Sam for dinner a few days later. We headed to an American Diner he recommended, with 50s diner interior and apparently the best milkshakes in Vancouver. I dressed for the occassion in my red 50s-style dress I had picked up when shopping the day before with Jenni.

'You look great.' Sam smiled as we sat down and I removed my parka jacket. The snow had started to disappear now and it was nice not having to dress like a yeti or eskimo everywhere I went. I ordered a bacon and stilton burger with curly fries and an oreo milkshake, which was brought to me with whipped cream and a cherry on top. Yum.

'So have you heard from Hollister yet?' I asked as I popped the cherry into my mouth.

'Not yet.' He replied. 'But sometimes these things take weeks, especially as they're heading to the New York store to scout too.'

'They took photos of me.' I said, feeling my cheeks blush again.

'And why wouldn't they?'

'Because I'm just a sales assistant. I only went to offer them coffee and then the lady started going on about how all the girls they had seen looked the same and she didn't understand why and then she said I'd be a great model. Could you imagine me as a model?!' I laughed.

'Well, why not? Mom and I always said you had the most amazing eyes. You stand out from the crowd. You're beautiful in a sort of bambi way.'

I rolled my eyes. 'I hate looking like bambi.'

'Well don't, it may have gotten you a modelling job!'

'Zed doesn't want me to do it. And I shouldn't, not really.'

'He's not encouraging you?' He frowned.

'No, no, it's not that.' I shook my head and lowered my voice. 'We're supposed to be lying low. The FBI don't want us to draw attention to ourselves.'

'The FBI?' He whispered back. 'What the hell has happened over here?'

And just like that, I poured out everything that had happened, trying to hold back my tears so that I didn't draw any unwanted attention. Obviously I left out the part about being a savant. That was a bad idea to mention.

'Oh my god, I can't believe I let Mary cut you out like that. You've been through so much, you needed me Sky.' His eyes softened and I could tell he was feeling guilty.

'It's not your fault.' I replied with a shrug. 'You love her.'

'Loved.' He corrected. 'We broke up before I started travelling. Her jealous side was getting on my nerves.'

'Oh. I'm sorry to hear that.'

'I'm not.' His smile returned. 'She was only holding me back.'

'Yeah she wasn't the most understanding girlfriend.'

'Not really, no.'

He shot me a sympathetic smile. 'I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have let her take over my life.'

'It's no biggy. Why was she always so jealous of me anyway?'

'Because you're better looking than her.' He smirked. 'She hated your big eyes and long eyelashes.'

'Ha.' I laughed. 'God only knows why.'

Sam rolled his eyes. 'Anyway, I need to here all about Zed. What does he look like? How did he propose? What's his family like? All the details. Spill.'

Sometimes I could have sworn he was supposed to be gay.

'How was dinner?' Zed asked when I arrived home that evening.

'Yeah it was good.' I replied with a smile.

'Good.' He kissed my forehead and retreated back to the kitchen. 'There's two answerphone messages for you.'

'Oh?'

I walked over to the machine and pressed play as I took off my jacket and my shoes.

'Hi, Sky! I am so glad you and Zed are back to being engaged! Yves is going away with work for the week so I thought I'd catch up with you before the baby makes an appearance. I fly out on the tenth, let me know if that's okay for you.' Phee's voice chimed, making me smile.

'Phee had better stay with us, she's due soon!' I called out to Zed.

'That's fine, baby.'

The phone beeped again, signalling the start of the next message.

'Hello this is Miriam Saunders calling for Sky Bright. HQ love the photos of you and would love to fly you out this weekend for someshots in Maine. I'll email the deets.'

I looked across the room at Zed, who was frowning. 'I don't have to do it.'

'They want to take us off of witness protection.'

'What?'

'The Kellys have all recieved life sentences. They found some evidence to suggest they had been involved in some murders.' His face was grim and my stomach churned. 'They were more dangerous than we thought. The FBI can't afford to hide anymore people than they need to. There's people out there that need more protecting than us apparently. Victor is pissed.'

'Why didn't you tell me?'

'Because you seemed to finally be moving on with things.' He walked over to me and kissed my forehead. 'It's in the past, Sky. We're finally ready to move on with our lives.'

'You're worried I might affect our safety.'

'Of course I am, but I can't hold you back from things. Dad thinks it'll be okay, if that's what you want. It's a few pictures, it doesn't tell anybody anything about you. Besides, Yves is really starting to make a name for himself with his inventions, he could well be the next Bill Gates.'

'I don't want to do anything you're not happy with.' I frowned. 'Not when we're finally back to normal.'

He reached out and grabbed my left hand, pulling it to his lips. He gently kissed my ring finger, just above my beautiful engagement ring. 'I just want you to be happy, and if that means posing for some photos then I want you to do it.'

'You could come with me?'

'If I can get the time off work.' He kissed my hand. 'Besides, this is your time, not mine. Why don't you check your email and see what they've said?'

I pulled out my tablet and sat down on the sofa, with my legs across Zed's lap. Sure enough, the email was there in front of me, waiting to be opened.

Dear Miss Sky Bright,

I am writing to you to say you have been chosen to model our new collection at Hollister Co. You will be needed to work on Saturday 3rd January from 9am to 6pm. The pay is $15 per hour and you will recieve a bonus if any shots are chosen. The flight details have been attached and a car will collect you from your home to take you to the airport on Friday afternoon and will return you to your home Sunday evening. A copy of your contract is attached and we will be asking you to sign this on arrival.

I look forward to working with you,

Miriam Saunders

'Well you're getting paid more than me!' Zed kissed my cheek, leaning back so that he was no longer reading my email.

I looked up and him and smiled. 'I know what I want to do with this money.'

'Buy a new dress?' He laughed. 'I know what you and Jenni are like.'

'No.' I shook my head. 'I want it to go towards our wedding.'

'You don't have to do that. I've got some money saved.'

'Zed, you always have some money saved. It went on this apartment, it went on our holiday last week. Please just let me pay my way. We can split the cost of the wedding, you can't pay for all of it.'

'I just want to take care of you.'

'I can take care of me. Let's be fifty-fifty please.'

'Okay.'

'Good.' I reached up and kissed him softly on the lips. 'Because weddings are expensive.'

'Tell me about it.' He sighed, deeply. 'But if it means you're my wife, it's going to be worth it.'

The car arrived at 1pm on Friday. I was glad I'd packed early, because the driver didn't seem to be in a waiting mood.

'Stay safe. Call me.' Zed kissed me softly on the lips as the driver beeped his horn again.

'I will. I love you.'

'I love you too.' He placed my suitcase in the trunk of the car and the driver beeped again; he clearly had some road rage issues. I climbed into the car, closed the door and drove away, watching Zed's reflection in the mirror as we pulled away.

'SKY?!' The familiar voice caught my attention as I headed towards the small check-in desk.

'Sam?'

He walked over to me, grinning, wearing a navy hollister hoodie, jeans and converse. 'Don't tell me, you're going to Maine?'

'They picked you?!'

'I am so glad to see a friendly face. Some of those girls were so lame.' He pulled me into a bear hug. I pulled back, needing to breathe. 'Sorry. Come on, we'd better check-in, our flight will be boarding soon.'

Maine had some beautiful landscape. I watched us fly over rocky coastlines with lighthouses, sandy beaches and hundreds of trees.

'That's the Acadia National Park, where we're shooting tomorrow.' Sam had pointed out an area of natural beauty from the plane. I smiled, pleased to be somewhere beautiful, although I couldn't help but wish Zed was here to see it with me. This was going to be our first weekend apart since we had gotten back together, and he was a six hour flight away.

The hotel was in Bar Harbor, about five miles from the national park we'd be shooting in. The town reminded me of somewhere a Nicholas Sparks would be set, with a beautiful port and little fisherman boats. The whole area was a vast green and the sea was shimmering in the moonlight when we reached the hotel, in the taxi we were sharing. A look at the gas station down the road told me the temperature was in the minuses. Were they aware of this when they had decided to shoot in Maine in the winter for their summer clothes? Could they not have sent us to Florida instead?

My hotel room included a double bed, where a navy hollister onesie had been laid out for me. I looked at the small note on the top.

You might want to wear these tomorrow. Miriam

Yeah, maybe with some thermal leggings and a thermal vest. I grabbed my phone and sent Zed a message to let him know I had arrived safely and, before I knew it, I had fallen asleep.

I woke to the sound of the hotel room telephone ringing. I groaned and opened my eyes, realising it must still have been dark outside. Brilliant.

'Hello?' I croaked.

'This is your wake-up call, Miss Bright. You car arrives in just over an hour and breakfast is waiting for you in the lobby.'

'Thanks.' I hung up the phone and sighed, grabbing my phone: 6AM. Brilliant. After showering, I threw on a lace camisole and my Hollister onesie with my warm tan snugg boots and headed down to breakfast.

'Good morning.' Sam smiled as I headed towards his table, where he was sat with another guy and girl, who were also wearing navy Hollister onesies. They all looked bright and beautiful, despite the early wake-up call. It disgusted me. 'This is Rowan and Dean.'

The girl, Rowan, smiled at me. 'Where are you from?'

'Vancouver.'

'You're English.' Dean purred. 'I love an English accent.

Sam squirmed and met my eyes with a frown, before changing the subject. 'Are you looking forward to today?'

'Looking forward to it? It's freezing out there!' I sipped my cup of coffee and took a bite of my pancake, glad to have something warm filling my stomach.

'I've done ten shoots now.' Rowan smiled, playing with her pancake instead of eating it. 'Three were in the snow. I had to wear a fur bra and fur knickers at one! They photoshopped out all the goosepimples.'

'You'll have to show me that some time.' Dean smiled, eyeing up Rowan.

I rolled my eyes. 'Well you wouldn't catch me posing in something that skimpy!'

Boy was I wrong.

It was minus three at the National Park when we arrived. Immediately, we were split up and ushered into different tents which, thankfully, had heaters inside. About three layers of foundation were plastered onto my face and the rest of the make-up was fairly natural; brown eyeshadow and brown eyeliner, which made my eyes look bluer, and then mascara and a nude lipstick.

'I love your hair.' The hairdresser smiled sweetly as she tackled my wild waves. 'I want to keep it as natural as possible. I'm just going to add some product to make the waves smoother.'

When I looked in the mirror, I was pleased with the result. That was until I saw the rack of clothes laid out behind me with a label reading 'Sky' on them. Bikinis. Shorts. Vest tops. Were they completely insane? My stomach flipped and regret filled me. I was going to get frostbite. When I had pictured myself at the shoot, only days before, I had seen myself in cosy coats and jumpers. Maybe a few tshirts, but those were paired with jeans.

'Hi, Sky, I'm your stylist for today, Jo. The photographer wants us to try you out in some sundresses first for today, is that okay?'

I wanted to say no, but it was too late now. 'Yes.' Was all I could manage.

Jo ran a hand through her long, glossy black hair. 'I know it's pretty rough dressing in small clothes when it's so cold out there, but you get used to it. And you'll be spending a lot of time waiting around in here today too. We'll only have you in the cold when we need you there.'

I nodded and she pulled out a beautiful turquoise strapless mini dress, with a pink ribbon around the middle.

'Oh, and in case you weren't aware, you get to keep the clothes.'

'I do?' I looked down at my onesie.

'Anything we put you in today is yours.' She smiled.

The day started with some single shots of me in sundresses, shorts and vest tops. Then I had to wait around whilst the others were snapped.

'Sky, I need you to change into the navy and white seagull print bikini now.' Jo called out as she rushed in wearing her thick, furry coat. 'We're going to do some paired and group shots.'

I gulped. I never let anyone see me dressed in so little. It made me uncomfortable. And next to Rowan I was going to look huge and stumpy. I pulled on the bikini and secured the tie strings, before hurrying towards the heater. My hair was checked again and my make-up was topped up.

'Here.' The hairdresser gave me a huge fluffy parka coat and smiled. 'I'm sorry it's a bit big, but you shouldn't have to go out there without a big coat.'

I half-smiled, feeling grateful, before slipping on my boots, grabbing the flip-flops and heading outside. Rowan was currently lying on the sand in a bikini, with Sam's arms wrapped around her shoulders. I watched as the photographer and his assistant moved quickly, snapping shot after shot of the same pose. He called out some instructions and Rowan turned her face so that she was facing Sam. He made an 'OK' sign before changing the battery.

'Sky, you're up!' The camera assistant called out. She directed me to the sand, in front of a backdrop of the sea and the rocky coastline. I slipped off my boots and placed on my flip-flops, squirming as an icy blast hit me. Every hair on my head stood on end and I shuddered in response, as goosepimples covered my skin. I breathed out, my breath escaping in white steam.

'Are you not cold?' I gasped as another stylist brushed the sand off of Sam's skin.

He grinned. 'Of course not, I'm a real man.'

I shook my head. 'You're insane.'

'Okay, so we're going to get some shots of the two of you.' The camera assistant explained. 'Sam I need you to place one hand on Sky's back and the other on her hip. Sky, drape your arms around Sam's neck.'

I winced as my jacket was pulled off by a stylist and taken away. The cold air hit my body and I shivered. 'Oh my god.'

Sam followed the assistant's instructions, placing his hands where asked. I quickly did the same, desperate to get out of the cold.

'Sky can you look over at the tent over there?' The cameraman called out. 'And Sam, press your forehead against the side of her head and look at her.'

His forehead pressed against the side of my head and I longed for Zed. He could have been a Hollister model. I sure as hell would have felt more comfortable.

'Excellent chemistry, I'm loving it!' The cameraman called out. 'Can we get something for Sky to stand on? I want her a little taller.'

Brilliant, too bloody short and getting frostbite. I was given a footstall to stand on and the cameraman moved closer. 'Much better!'

'Okay let's try the surfboard shot!' The assistant called out.

The surfboard shot turned out to be a shot where Sam laid on a surfboard, holding up his bare chest with his arms. I had to lay my back against his so I was facing up, holding my weight on my arms, which was pretty hard when I was shivering. Four more awkward and intimate shots were taken before the cameraman called out what I had been longing to hear: 'That's a wrap!'

After running back to my tent and throwing on a t-shirt, leggings and my onesie, I bagged up my freebie clothes and headed to the jeep which had driven us to the national park. The sun had set and the night sky was so clear you could see all of the stars. It was incredible. I snapped a quick photo, ready to send through to Zed on Snapchat, and we headed back to the hotel.

'Nice work today.' Sam smiled as we walked into the hotel lobby.

'Thanks.' I replied. 'Needless to say, I'm never being a model ever again.'

'You did great.'

'It was awkward and freezing.'

'You found it awkward being in photographs with me?' His face fell.

'I just don't know you so well anymore, you know? It's hard.'

'Can we get a drink? And maybe some food?'

'Dressed like this?' I laughed, signalling to our onesies.

'Who cares?!' He grinned. 'I saw this great seafood restaurant down the road.'

'Sky!'

My eyes widened in surprise as I spotted my fiance walking towards me with a small black overnight bag. 'Zed! What are you doing here?'

'Surprising you.' He grinned, planting a kiss on my freezing cold lips. 'God, you're freezing.'

'You have no idea.' I laughed, still in shock.

His eyes glanced over to the left, where Sam was stood running a hand through his hair, awkwardly. 'I'm Zed, Sky's fiance.'

'Sam, Sky's best friend.'

'Huh, I didn't realise you guys were still close.' Zed shook his hand and I cringed at the awkwardness.

'We're not, but who knows what will happen?'

'Yeah, who knows?'

'Sam, can we grab some dinner some other time?' I smiled, sympathetically.

'Yeah, yeah, sure.' He shrugged. 'I'll go catch up with Rowan maybe.'

I watched him disappear up the stairs and out of sight. Zed reached over and grabbed my hand, squeezing it. 'Let's head to dinner and then you can tell me all about your day.'
