Kim
Five hours have passed and already there are several men in black attire helping with the research. And as I feared, Kasumi's past was revealed to them all now and many, many questions were directed towards me.
"What is this about Kim," Hikaru shouted. "How is Kasumi one of the top most prized corporations' daughter?!"
"…."
"Why is Kasumi on a scholarship instead of using her own funds like she should," Kaoru exclaimed. "She's rolling in cash like us all and yet she says nothing?"
"…."
"What is this about," they both asked in unison.
It was Haruhi that saved me when she slapped the both of them behind the head.
"Stop bullying Kim and look at her situation," she scolded. "She's not going to say anything without Kasumi's consent… leave her alone until things have settled down here."
"…Haruhi…" they both breathed.
"Now leave her alone and go back to finding Kasumi," she spoke. Taking my hand and pulling me out of the room, she shut the door on them all and turned to face me. "Well Kim, sorry about that," she smiled. "But you know of Kasumi since you two are close…" her smile dampened. "It hurts to know a loved one is suddenly gone from you…but don't shut us out in the dark when this happens." She looked at me so caringly and I needed to hug her. So I did. I hugged her so tight I thought I was going to break her and before I knew it she was gasping? "K-Kim…y-you're head…"
"…." She couldn't be seeing…
"Kim…what are those…" she asked.
My whole entire world was shattering before me as my ears were being shown to her and the hat on the ground. I panicked. I didn't know what to say or do that I fumbled to put it back on but the damn hat wouldn't stay!
"Are those…real," she asked me.
"….please don't tell them…" I begged. "Please don't say anything to them about my ears," I begged her. "I know it isn't normal to have cat ears…but please don't say anything about them," I asked her. "Please…" shaking, I feared I would be taken to a facility like before and be experimented on again. This time without Kasumi to save me…
"I won't say anything…but will you tell me why you have them?" She asked.
"…." Thinking about it, this was the simplest way. Haruhi is a good girl and isn't the type to go around telling others. "I was born with them…my mother died giving birth to me and all I remember is being in a room with nothing but IV's and needles. My childhood is scary…and it was thanks to my dad who got me out and being the father he once was. Then he turned into a drunkard when he found out I was the cause of mother's death and he…"
"You don't have to go that far Kim…I know Kasumi and Kyoya got that man arrested for putting you in the hospital."
"….if Kasumi wasn't there for me when I needed her most, I would have been dead years ago." Tears pouring out of my eyes, I was so desperate on getting her back. "I don't have much family to go off on Haruhi…I can't trust anyone else so easily." Crying onto her chest and wishing all this was a nightmare, she patted my back and tried to calm me down. "I met her when I was six…we've been together since and I know everything about her and her family. I worry about what brought this on…"
"…we'll find her Kim," she placed the hat back on my head and fixated it so it wouldn't fall so easily. "I promise you we will find her." She was encouraging me so passionately that I felt instantly better being with her.
"Thank you Haruhi," I said. "You are truly…truly the greatest friend we've made here at the host club."
"…th-thank you…Kim," she spoke softly.
A final hug and getting the tears off my face, Tamaki burst into the room in full bloom and looked proud to find something.
"We believe to have found who the phone call was made out from," he announced. "Kim…do you know anyone by the name of Zen Arboro," he asked me.
"….Zen," I whispered. There's no way it could possibly be that Zen, could it?
"Kim," Kyoya came in with photos he printed off and handed them to me. I started shaking badly when I saw Zen's photo and Kasumi being put into a black limo. "At exactly five o'clock this morning, Kasumi was seen entering the Matsumoto company enterprises. I could only access so much from their security cameras, but she has been seen there." The last picture was of Kasumi wearing the blankest expression on her face while inside that building. My hands were clammy and I felt dizzy thinking about Zen returning. That guy is nothing but a monster! "Who is this Zen," Kyoya asked in a dark tone.
"…." I gulped for air and suppressed every fear back in the recesses of my mind when speaking of him. They had to know…Zen is dangerous and we have to go and save her! "Zen Arboro was Kasumi's fiancée year's back." I spoke slowly and tried keeping my voice from shaking. "He's nothing but a tyrant…he's been after Kasumi for years before I even met her. When he and I met…I could tell he was bad news from the very start. Kasumi was obeying her parents' desires back then though and didn't care who she was paired with. The Kasumi you know now is freer then the previous her…but if she were to go back to her old ways…" I feared that past and didn't want to say, but it was Tamaki who wanted me to speak. "….she will be a robot like before with...no feelings…she'll disappear and go back to a dark world."
"…we cannot allow that to happen," Takumi surprised me when he started taking command of the situation. It was then I realized he isn't such a dumbass after all…he can be useful at times like these. "Kyoya, ready the paperwork that would be needed to file Kasumi out of that company. Hikaru, Kaoru, contact your mother and get the best headliner clothes she has in stock. "Honey-sempai, Mori-sempai, contact your family relations with the Matsumoto group and see what we can use!" They all saluted and did as they were told when he turned to me. "Kim, I need you to hold strong and be there for her when she gets home."
"…." Aghast at this behavior of his…just why would they do so much for someone who's been hiding from them all this time? "Can I ask you guy's one thing," I blurted out. "Why are you going through all the trouble of getting Kasumi back even though she's told you nothing of her past? She's done nothing in particular that would make you owe her any favors!"
"….that's simple," Tamaki began. "She is our beloved host member…as are you," his hand extended to me and I gaped slightly to this scene. "You two are important friends of ours, how could we abandon you or resent you for anything." He says.
"…." Silenced by his words and can't believe he spoke so maturely like this, I pulled myself together and accepted his hand. "Thank you, Tamaki," I say kindly. "Thank you all for helping me get her back," I say to them all.
"Anything for Kasu-chan," Honey-sempai spoke cheerily.
"Mm," Takeshi nodded.
"We can't let her go that easily," the twins added.
"We don't intend on letting her go that easily," Kyoya spoke.
"Come, let's go and greet her when she returns home." Haruhi says.
"You guys are actually pretty cool," I spoke through teary eyes.
"Let's win this fight then," Tamaki ushered the men on and they set off to work.
