The group sat around the kitchen table. They had a laptop set up and files spread all over the place. The phone had been moved to the table and was on speaker so that they could talk to Abby and McGee. "So, Boss, the obvious question is how did you and Mike catch this guy five years ago?" McGee asked over the phone.

"I was bait." Charity answered, simply and calmly.

"Well, that's out of the question now." Tony said, not willing to let Charity put herself on the line like that.

"I'm going to have to agree with Tony on this one, Boss." Burley told Charity.

Charity looked at Burley. "I understand why my husband doesn't want me to be bait…even though I am perfectly capable of handling myself."

"You just had a baby." Burley countered. "You're still recovering from childbirth. Besides, what if you did go in as bait and something happened? Do you really want AJ to grow up without his mother?"

Charity looked over at Tony and at their son sleeping in the bassinet. She sighed in defeat. "Dammit, you're right." She muttered.

A teasing smile came to Burley's face. "What was that? Did you just say I was right?"

"Yes, but don't let it go to your head." Charity replied. "One time in the last three years."

"I think that caused you some physical pain." Fornell added.

Charity shot Fornell a warning glare. "Just shut it."

"Hey, guys, I think we need to focus on the topic at hand." Abby said over the phone, interrupting them. Her voice almost sounded panicked. "We have to get this guy before he can get to any of you."

"Abby's right." Ziva said. "Protecting Charity and getting Smith should be our focus."

Charity had to fight the urge to roll her eyes. She hated the idea of her team "protecting" her. It really wasn't even herself she was worried about. She was so afraid of Tony getting hurt because of her again…or something happening to her baby boy.

They were all discussing strategy when the phone line beeped, signaling that another call was coming through. "It's an unknown number, Boss." McGee said, already tracking it. They had already set up a trace to track any incoming call. "It appears to be from a burn phone."

"That means it's probably him." Charity said.

"We've got the trace running, all you have to do is answer it, Boss." McGee said.

"Okay." She replied, reaching her hand over and pushing the button. "Hello?"

"Awe, hello Agent Gibbs…wait it's DiNozzo now isn't it?" came the familiar voice that made Charity's blood run cold.

"I thought you were dead, Smith." Charity replied, doing her best to keep her cool.

"Oh, I know you've been expecting this call." Smith replied. "I know you are sitting at the kitchen table in your grandfather's house with your husband and your team. I know they figured it out and came to protect you and your family."

Ziva had her gun and was standing from her seat. She walked around, looking out the doors and windows for any sign of Smith.

"What do you want, Smith?" Charity asked.

There was a dark chuckle through the line. "Your life of course." He answered. "You're the only one to get away…not only that, but you locked me up. I have to rectify that…and you can tell Miss David to stop looking around. You won't find me anywhere near the house."

Charity felt completely cold and could feel her body begin to shake. She was genuinely afraid of this man. No one else ever frightened her this way. She had looked some of the world's most notorious and deadly terrorists and none of them had scared her. This man frightened her beyond belief.

Another dark laugh came from Smith. "I see you shaking, Charity. Do you remember our time together that vividly? Just wait till I finish what I started."

"You bastard." Charity hissed.

"I'll see you soon, dear and we will finish what we started those years ago…I have another room set up just for you." The line then went dead.

"McGee, were you able to trace the call?" Tony asked, seeing the fear on his wife's face.

"No." McGee answered. "The signal was bouncing around too much."

"Though I do think I know how he is watching you guys." Abby said. "There's a wireless signal coming from in the house."

"Can you trace that?" Burley asked.

"Already trying." Abby answered. "You guys see if you can find the camera."

Ziva and Burley began checking out the house for the camera. Tony sat with Charity, keeping his arm wrapped around her. He could feel her shaking and see that all color had drained from her face. Eventually, Burley and Ziva found the camera. It was a small lipstick cam, unfortunately, McGee and Abby couldn't trace the signal because it cut as soon as they had come close.

There was more discussion on the best methods to try and track Smith. Everyone decided that it was best to try multiple ways, Abby and McGee doing their thing, Burley and Fornell doing another and Ziva was trying any and all of her contacts. Ducky was back in DC building a psychological profile. After a while, everyone needed to get some rest. Tony, Charity, and AJ took the spare bedroom. Burley and the others took the living room.

"I'll take the first watch." Ziva volunteered, knowing that until this was solved, they would have to take watch.

"Alright." Burley and Fornell agreed.

"Do you think Charity is going to be alright?" Fornell asked, an almost fatherly concern in his tone.

"Of course she will." Ziva replied. "We won't let anything happen to her."

"I mean mentally and emotionally." Fornell corrected.

"She did seem shaken up by that call." Burley agreed. "I've never seen the boss like that. She was shaking and her face was even paler than usual."

"Do any of you know what happened with Smith and Charity before?" Fornell asked.

Burley shook his head. "That part of her file was blocked out. All that I saw was afterwards, she spent quite a bit of time in the hospital and had to spend some time seeing a therapist before she could return to work."

"He must have done something terrible to her." Ziva said.

Tony and Charity…

Charity held AJ, rocking him to sleep. She kissed his forehead and cheeks before laying him down in his bed. Tony walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close. "Are you alright?" He asked.

"I'm fine." She replied, her voice quivering the slightest bit.

"No, you're not." Tony countered. He turned Charity around in his arms to face him. He lifted a hand to cup her cheek and looked into her eyes. "Charity, honey, tell me. You seemed to be okay until that phone call. Until he talked to you. What's going on?"

"I'm scared." Charity confessed. "I…I thought I would be alright…until I heard his voice…and…and I remembered everything I tried to forget."

Tony used his thumb to wipe away at stray tears that came down her cheeks. "What happened?" Tony asked.

Charity shook her head. "I…I can't." She said, her voice breaking on a sob. She tried to speak more, but couldn't.

Tony wrapped both of his arms around his wife and pulled her close. He stroked her hair from the top of her head to the ends. He rested his cheek on top of her head. "Shh…" He said. "It's alright. Nothing is going to happen."

Charity felt her knees begin to buckle. Tony tightened his hold on her and then scooped her up and carried her over to the bed. He laid down, holding Charity with him. Charity allowed herself to draw comfort from Tony's embrace. She buried her face in his chest as she cried, her memories flashing to the horrors she was put through by Smith before Mike had gotten to her, Smith had been prepared for their plan and knew everything to do to keep Mike from finding her and saving her. He had tortured her so terribly, in the worst of ways. It had taken her months to get past it and put it in the farthest recesses of her mind. After hearing his voice, the horrors that she went through were now fresh in her mind.

"I promise you, nothing is going to happen." Tony reassured her. "I won't let anything happen to you or AJ. Whatever Smith did before won't happen again."

Charity nodded. She still couldn't bring herself to speak. She held onto Tony, needing him more than she ever had before. She was grateful to have him to hold her and allow herself to fall apart with him. He was the only one she could let see her vulnerable. Eventually, she fell asleep with Tony holding her.
