He didn't reply. He broke the space between us, brushing his lips against mine. Suddenly, my mind remembered most of the kisses we had shared together. Some in bed, some outside, our first kiss... it was all there. Every perfect kiss.

Zed pulled away and leant his forehead against mine. He smiled. 'Did you see that?'

'Yes.' I whispered, feeling breathless. 'Now kiss me again.'

We didn't stay outside too long, we were determined to watch Jenni's performance of Shania Twain's 'Man I feel like a woman.' And we were glad we did. It was a sight to see. Jenni had a great voice, but her dance moves at this point were something else. She looked like she was working in a strip club with her seductive moves. I suppressed a giggle and looked over at Zed, who was watching me and not my friend. Anna and Maisie were whooping and waving their hands in the air. Bleu was gently stroking Anna's back. And then I looked at Rob. His jaw was open and he actually looked like he was enjoying what he was seeing.

We ended up spending the remainder of the night in a club called The Roxy. It wasn't as classy as the first bar we had been to, but the atmosphere was nice. Everyone was dancing the night away in the dimly-lit room, moving under the multi-coloured disco lights. The music was a mixture of chart and retro, the kind of music you could sing along too. We headed straight to the dancefloor, where Maisie immediately found herself a male dance partner and Anna cosied up to Bleu, wrapping her hands around his neck.

'I need to pee!' Jenni announced, grabbing my hand and pulling me away from our friends.

'Because I'm sure everyone in the club needed to know that.' I laughed as I followed her into the empty bathroom.

We both used the empty cubicles and then met by the sinks.

'So, what's the gossip?' She beamed, looking over at me as I dried my hands.

'What do you mean?' I asked, trying to keep a straight face.

'I knew it!' She replied, dramatically. 'You and Zed kissed. Details.'

'Erm... it was at that karaoke bar... when we went to get some air. It just kind of happened.'

'Fireworks?' She smiled, fixing her eye make-up.

'Yeah.' I responded, my mouth cracking into a smile. 'And it kinda brought back some memories... memories of each of our kisses.'

'That's a nice thing for it to bring back.' She squeezed my arm. 'So what now?'

'I don't know. I guess we'll see what happens.'

'I guess we will.'

When we returned to the guys, they had shots waiting for us. My insides groaned at the sight, but Jenni frowned at me.

'Sky, you hold your drink too well for a little person. Now drink.'

I gave into the peer pressure and downed my shot, making a face because of the sour flavour going down my throat. Lovely. I opened my eyes and saw Zed looking back at me with a smile on his face. I was about to make a comment when 'Wildest Dreams' by Taylor Swift started blaring through the speakers.

'I love this song!' Jenni squealed, admitting something she wouldn't if she had been sober. 'Come on, let's go let's go!'

She pulled me to the dancefloor and started to dance with me, twirling me around as we moved our hips in time to the music. She paused as Rob put his hands on her hips from behind and moved closer to her, so that she was pressed up against him. I took that as my queue to give them some privacy. I turned around and my face almost crashed into Zed's chest.

He smiled at me. 'So those too, huh?'

'Yeah.' I returned the smile. 'I'm glad she's happy.'

'Are you?'

'Yes.' I replied, honestly. Zed's hands moved to my hips and we moved in time to the music. I wrapped my arms around his neck and moved closer to him, not breaking his eye contact as his body was pressed against mine.

Say you'll remember me

Standing in a nice dress, staring at the sunset babe

Red lips and rosy cheeks

Say you'll see me again even if it's just in your wildest dreams

In your wildest dreams

Even if it's just in your wildest dreams

In your wildest dreams.

Zed leant forwards and kissed me. In that moment I forgot where we were. It was just the two of us, two soulfinders who needed each other, kissing with so much passion that it was as if we were never going to see each other again.

'Kill me.' Jenni groaned the next morning. Her hair was all over the place and she had panda eyes from not taking off her make-up.

I opened the curtains of her dorm and squinted. It was really bright outside. 'You wanted a bar crawl for your birthday.'

'I know, but I think I'm going to hurl.'

After breakfast and a shower, we both felt a bit more normal. We sat outside on the grass with a starbucks frappucino each, in our sundresses, soaking up the warm sunshine.

'Despite feeling like crap, did you have a good night?' I asked her with a smile. 'You looked like you were.'

She blushed. 'I kissed Rob.'

'You did?' I gasped, although I wasn't that surprised.

'You were probably too busy making out with Zed at the time to notice.'

This time I was the one that blushed. 'I feel like I should be asking you for details, like you did to me in the bathroom last night.'

'I'm a brilliant drunk, aren't I?' She laughed. 'It was... really nice though.'

'If I'm honest Jen, I was starting to wonder if you were going to give him a lapdance. Your moves were... quite sexual.'

'Oh my god.' She frowned, mortified. She rolled over so that her face was on the ground.

'Morning ladies.'

I looked up at Rob and Zed and smiled. 'Good morning.'

'Uhm... Jen?'

She rolled over, looking even more embarassed than she had previously. 'Hey.'

'What are you doing?' Rob asked, sitting down beside her.

'Apparently it's a good way to get rid of hangovers.' I smiled, innocently, getting daggered eyes from Jen.

'Right.' Rob replied with a shrug. He leant over and kissed Jenni on the cheek. The sweet gesture made me smile.

'So how's your hangover?' Zed asked, stretching out beside me.

'Not too bad, but then I wasn't as far gone as Jenni.' I laughed, looking over at my two friends who were chatting away to each other. 'What about yours?'

'I think I was pretty sober.' He replied. 'I remember everything that happened.'

'That's good.'

He leant forwards and gave me a gentle peck on the lips. 'Mmmm this is my new hobby.'

'Oh really?'

'Absolutely.' He kissed me again. 'Although I do worry that someone will tell us to get a room if we sit here and do this all day.'

I sighed. 'You're probably right.'

We was quiet for a minute and then he looked up. 'Do you want to come over for dinner later?'

'With your family?' I asked, nervously.

'Yes. Not all of them though, it's just my parents hanging around. Yves and Phee had to get back to New York with the baby and everyone else has had to go back to work. You don't have to of course but-'

'I'll come.'

'You will?'

'Sure.'

The Benedict's house was small, although I knew it was only temporary for them as they had their home back in Wrickenridge. It had stone walls and stone tiles on the roof and with the little decking on their porch, it looked homely. Inside, the original wooden floorboards had been coated with varnish and the rooms all had cream wallpaper. Despite it being a rented property, I couldn't help noticing the family photos hung on the walls and placed above their fireplace. I blushed when I saw one of me and Zed, one where I was flashing what must have been my engagement ring.

Zed took my hand, sensing my nerves, and led me into the kitchen.

'Hello Sky.' Zed's mother greeted me by pulling me into a hug.

'Mum-'

'I'm sorry, that wasn't very appropriate of me.' She replied, quickly moving away from me. Her eyes saddened and it made me feel guilty. 'I'm Karla.'

'It's okay.' I smiled at her, trying to ignore the aura of sadness around her. 'It's nice to meet you.' Saying those words felt wrong because seeing Mrs Benedict felt so familiar.

'How are you Sky?' Zed's dad walked into the room and shook my hand. 'Saul, it's lovely to see you.' I knew he had tried not to add the word 'again' onto his comment.

'I'm okay thank you.' I replied with a smile.

Are you really okay? Zed's voice filled my head and he looked over at me, a concerned expression on his face.

Just nervous.

He squeezed my hand and smiled as Mrs Bennedict announced, 'Dinner's ready!'

After dinner, I felt a lot more comfortable being with Zed's parents. We spoke about how college was going, if I wanted to keep the same major, what I wanted as a career, anything that wasn't related to being a savant. I knew in my mind that I had probably had the conversation with them before, and this bothered me like I knew it would. I found out a lot about them and even found out that they were moving back to Wrickenridge at the end of the month as they had to get the watersports up and going ready for the tourists.

'You saved me.' I said to Zed as I sat down on his bed beside him.

'I did?'

'Yes. When I almost fell out of a raft, you saved me.'

His eyes sparkled with recognition. 'You're right. And I'm pretty sure you hated me at that point.'

'Maybe.' I replied with a laugh.

He moved up the bed to get comfortable, lying himself against the pillows. I moved along to join him, slipping off my ballet pumps. For a while, we didn't say anything. We just laid on our sides, facing each other, looking at each other. It was strange what happened next and I don't even know how it happened. I was looking deep into my mind, desperate to remember every little memory Troy had taken from me. Please remember, please remember everything. I was telling myself, my eyes filled with tears, and Zed was looking at me with worry. And please make him remember everything. I suddenly felt dizzy, faint, and sick. The room was spinning. I closed my eyes and felt like I was spinning. And then I was unconscious.

Zed.

'Mom! Dad!' I screamed for help. Sky had been fine, and then she'd looked kind of distant and now I couldn't get her to wake up.

My parents came into the room and looked at Sky. 'What happened?' My dad asked as my mother's face paled.

'I don't even know.' And then I did know. I could remember everything. Every kiss, every conversation, every fight... I looked at Sky and saw the blood coming out of her nose. 'Oh god, she did this to make me remember.'

'You can remember?' My mom asked as dad checked Sky's breathing. He grabbed a tissue and dabbed at her nose.

'She must have forced me to remember.'

'I thought her ability was different to that...'

'It was, but Troy made her more powerful.' I let out a low growl. 'She's overworked herself.'

'She's still breathing and looks like it was just a quick nosebleed.' My dad frowned. 'We could take her to the hospital.'

'No.' My mum shook her head. 'They'll want to know what happened and we can't tell them the truth. It's not safe for savants right now.'

My dad sighed. 'Well her breathing is normal so I guess we just wait for her to wake up. I'll call Sally and Simon and let them know she won't be home tonight.'

'They're going to be pretty pissed with me.' I frowned.

'Well they did allow you to propose to their daughter, so maybe they don't mind you after all.' My dad smiled, leaving the room with my mum. He called over his shoulder, 'let us know if anything else happens.'

I looked at Sky, lying on her side on my bed. I could see her chest moving with her breath. I laid down beside her and kissed her forehead. 'Please wake up.'

xx-xx-xx

Sky.

I felt like I was watching back every memory I had ever shared with Zed. It was weird. I saw the first time we met. I saw me arguing with him and shouting when I said that I was his soulfinder. I saw the Kellys taking me. Prom. Seeing him again after I had been kidnapped. Our apartment together.

I didn't need to watch all of it, I remembered. But everytime I tried to open my eyes and wake up, I failed. I knew my head was hurting. And then all the memories just stopped. I got to the present day. So why did I only see darkness?

When I woke up what seemed like hours later, I felt some lips against mine. I cautiously opened my eyes and Zed's face was there, looking back at me. I kissed him back and his eyes widened and he moved away. 'Are you awake?'

'Yes.' I replied with a whisper.

'Oh thank god.' He kissed my forehead and pulled me close to him. 'You've been out cold for a few hours. I was worried you wouldn't wake up.'

'I tried to wake up earlier, but I just couldn't.' I sighed.

'I'm just glad you're awake now.' He smiled, placing a kiss on the end of my nose.

'Did it work?' I looked up at him, uncertain if my power had been enough.

'Yes. I remember everything.' His mouth twitched at the corners. 'But please don't ever do that again. Your nose was bleeding. I was worried you had killed yourself.'

'I just wanted to see if it worked.' I replied, looking up at him. 'And now I'm glad I did it.'

'Me too.' Zed pulled me towards him and pressed his mouth firmly against mine.

Soon, June was upon us. The temperature stayed about twenty degrees and we had our final exam to complete before it was summer. Career fairs were being set up around campus for those in their senior year who had not yet decided what they were going to do and people rushed about with stacks of books, heading to and from the library.

I was surprised to find a letter had arrived the first weekend of June, addressed to both Zed and I. Uncertain, I carefully opened it.

My eyes widened. So the wedding had been cancelled. Was it still going ahead? I had no idea. The house was empty as Simon and Sally were both at work. Before I knew it, I found myself walking down the hallway to the spare bedroom. I opened the door and stepped inside, looking at the dress bag that hung above the mirror. I unzipped it and looked at my beautiful wedding dress.
