Much shorter than normal! But I should be back to a steady uploading pace soon :) (with hopefully longer chapters)

Sorry :(

As always, the grammar, it sucks and I do not own KnB

Thanks for reading

Akashi stared at the ceiling. His eyes open yet unfocused. He heard it. He had heard it all and every word that Kuroko had said left a bitter feeling in his chest. It was obvious, Kuroko's feelings for Ogiwara. Akashi knew how Kuroko felt about his old teammate; he knew it. He was an Akashi, afterall, and Akashis know things, and Akashi knew of Kuroko's feelings. Yet, when he heard them out loud, when he heard those words drip from Kuroko's mouth, lined with such pain, such passion...Akashi felt as though Kuroko had reached into his chest and ripped out his heart.

"Then. Now. For all these years, for me, its always been him"

Kuroko's words echoed in Akashi's mind and squeezed his chest. Akashi placed a hand over his heart, making sure there wasn't actually something laying there. The weight of his pain felt so real, so physical, it left him...numb,yet so filled with an aching he had never experienced. Akashi sat up, one hand clutching his chest, the other running through his red hair. He sighed and took a quick glance around the room. Aomine and Kise were splayed on the ground on top of each other, their limbs and bodies looking more like a pretzel than actual human parts. Murasakibara was curled up in a corner, a pocky stick hanging out the corner of his mouth. Midorima was sleeping against a wall, his back perfectly straight and quite rigid. Akashi could only see half of Mayuzumi, who was sleeping on his stomach in the kitchen, his legs sticking out of the door way. Akashi sighed to himself. This is why he was so confident he would win Kuroko in the end. The competition had always been...well...lacking. Then this Ogiwara came out of no where and messed everything up. It was all messed up. Akashi had felt a strong attachment to Kuroko for a couple months now and he felt so determined and hopeful...but Kuroko had loved Ogiwara for years...and for the first time in his life, Akashi was afraid he wouldn't get what he wanted.

Akashi jumped slightly, when he noticed the light in the kitchen had flipped on. Judging by the way Mayuzumi's body was still on the ground and the noises coming from the kitchen were soft and almost soundless, Akashi knew it had to be Kuroko. Akashi threw the blankets off and headed toward the light. Kuroko had poured a large amount of water into the water boiler and was placing a tea bag into a mug. Akashi stared at the way Kuroko moved. It was like...he was gliding. It wasn't in a dancey way or particularly elegant...but it was mystifying. There was something about him that felt so nostaglic, yet unreal...mysterious yet...so warm. To someone like Akashi, who had long since felt warmth and love, being around Kuroko...it felt like home.

"Are you alright, Akashi-kun?" Kuroko's voice snapped him out of his thoughts. Akashi stared at Kuroko, who at some point, had pulled out a second mug.

"I'm fine, Tetsuya. How are you feeling?" Akashi asked, moving to stand next to Kuroko.

"I'll be O.K. Though, I must admit...I am not a fan of alcohol" Kuroko sighed, dragging a slow hand through his hair, completely, innocently, unaware of how it affected Akashi. "I thought you might like some tea" Kuroko continued, pointing at the second mug, "But if you prefer, I believe we have some Hot Coco mix somewhere"

"I'm not a child, Tetsuya. I don't like Hot Coco"

"Everyone likes Hot Coco" Kuroko replied, tapping the switch of the water boiler off before the sound went off. "This is your last chance" Kuroko said pouring the hot water into his mug and drifting the water boiler slowly towards Akashi's.

"Tea is fine" Akashi chuckled. He nodded his head in thanks when Kuroko shrugged and began to pour the water. Akashi stared as the steam slowly rose up from the cup in small white wisps.

"Now then, is there a reason you're up this late?" Kuroko asked blowing into his mug and leaning back on the counter.

"What makes you think there is something keeping me up?"

"It just seems like it" Kuroko shrugged as he took a sip, wincing slightly as the water burned his tongue.

"Its nothing" Akashi smiled at Kuroko. After a pause, Akashi stared at Kuroko, "Do you have parents, Tetsuya?"

"Everyone has parents" Kuroko replied.

"Where are they?"

"I don't talk about my parents"

"I told you about mine"

"Because you wanted to"

"Is it that much of a touchy subject?"

"Indeed. It is." Kuroko sighed

"Is that so?"

"I suppose you'll just use your connections to find out more."

Akashi smirked. Thats exactly what he was going to do. It warmed his heart to know Kuroko knew him so well after just a couple months. "Why, I would never" Akashi lied.

"Mm-hmm" Kuroko raised a skeptical eyebrow. "I would ask that you didn't"

"Now why would you do that?"

Kuroko took a sip of his tea and sighed, "Frankly, I don't understand why you would look up facts about another person. There's only so much facts on a sheet of paper can tell you. Isnt it better to gain someone's trust enough for them to tell you their secrets?"

"I can learn plenty from facts on a sheet of paper."

"If thats all I trusted, I would never have taken the job at your house"

"I bet those dossiers were biased" Akashi replied.

Kuroko chuckled, "Indeed. It was a bunch of binders, each labeled "GOM: what a bunch of bastards"

Akashi smiled at the sound of Kuroko's laugh. "I may need to have an exchange of words with Riko about that"

"Mmph...Pumpkin Spice"

Akashi and Kuroko glanced at Mayuzumi, who had shifted into fetal position. His brows were furrowed and he began to twitch. "I wonder what kind of dream he's having" Kuroko chuckled. Kuroko placed his tea cup on the counter and kneeled next to Mayuzumi. He slowly placed a finger inbetween Mayuzumi's eyebrows, flattening the crease. Mayuzumi immediately calmed and began to snore softly.

"Neat trick" Akashi commented, not particularly liking the gentleness with which Kuroko patted Mayuzumi's hair.

"It works well on the kids at the daycare"

"So, Mayuzumi is just a kid to you?"

Kuroko stood up and cocked his to head to the side, looking at Akashi. "Of course."

"But not that much younger"

"You're still in high school"

"You think I'm a kid too?" Akashi asked, clenching his fists.

Kuroko merely nodded and went back to his tea.

"And Ogiwara...you see him as a man?"

Kuroko raised an eyebrow at Akashi, "I dont see what he has to do with anything...but yes. He's the same age as me. It'd be rude if I thought of him as a kid"

Akashi grit his teeth and chugged the rest of his tea. "Akashi-kun! That's still really hot. You'll burn yourself" Kuroko practically slammed his own cup onto the counter and moved quickly to stop Akashi. As Kuroko moved towards him, Akashi placed the empty cup on the counter and wrapped an arm around Kuroko's waist. With the momentum that Kuroko was going, he ran into Akashi's chest with a thump. After placing his cup down, Akashi lifted his free hand to run through a stunned Kuroko's hair.

"I'm not a kid" Akashi said sharply before cupping the side of Kuroko's face. Before Kuroko could process the situation, Akashi slammed his lips against Kuroko's. Akashi could feel Kuroko freeze in his arms. He moved his lips against Kuroko's. Akashi's heart thumped in his chest. He thought it mind jump out. Kuroko's lips were soft and sweet and...just knowing he was kissing the one and only Kuroko Tetsuya made Akashi's superior mind swim. He felt Kuroko's move a little, in an attempt to say something. Akashi took the chance to get his tongue into Kuroko's mouth. Before he could fully explore the warmth, his felt his body being torn away from Kuroko's. Akashi winced when his back made a rather harsh collision with the counter. He looked up to see a wide-eyed Aomine. He had one arms around a pink, yet emotionless faced Kuroko, the other was stretched out from when he had pushed Akashi.

"Daiki" Akashi growled. "What do you think you're doing?" He asked, as cam and cold as he could muster.

Despite Aomine's determination to hold his ground, the ice in Akashi's voice made him shiver slightly. "I think I should be asking you that"

"This is an A and B conversation, Daiki. 'C' yourself out"

"Didn't seem like you were doing much talking"

"The communication was nonverbal" Akashi smirked when he saw how red with jealousy, embarassment, and anger Aomine became. "Give me back my Tetsuya"

"He is not yours" Aomine barked, immediately waking up the GOM. Mayuzumi had also woken up, but finding the environment to be hostile, slowly crawled his way out of the kitchen and into the back hallway to sleep.

"What's going on?" Kise asked, running into the kitchen, soon followed by Murasakibara and Midorima.

"Nothing. Aomine was just letting Tetsuya go"

"What? HEY! Get your mitts off of Kurokocchi!" Kise yelled.

"Letem go" Murasakibara muttered in a low voice.

"D-Dont get all mad at me!" Aomine replied quickly, the look on Murasakibara's face was growing darker. "Akashi's the one who kissed him!"

"WHAT?!" The three late-commer GOM yelled in unison. Midorima adjusted his glasses to hide the redding of his face. "W-why would you do that!?" he asked.

"So, that actually happened." Kuroko sighed, causing everyone to freeze in their tracts, "I was hoping I was hallucinating"

"Kurokocchi! I'll disinfect those lips for you! Come here!" Kise puckered his lips and dove for Kuroko. Aomine quickly shifted to block the blonde.

"Kisechin will give Kurochin cooties. I will disinfect. My saliva is sweet"

"A-Are you planning on spitting on him!? You're disgusting. I'll do it. My lips are pure" Midorima blushed.

"Oh look the tsun is turning all red" Kise teased.

"I AM NOT A TSUNDERE"

"Shut up! If anyone gets to disinfect Tetsu, its me!" Aomine barked.

"His lips don't need disinfecting" Akashi growled. "Now give him back to me, now" Akashi reached into a kitchen drawer and grabbed a pair of scissors.

"What the hell? So what happened next?" Kagami asked and shoved another large pancake into his mouth.

Kuroko sighed, "What could I do? I ignite-punched them all in the face and went to bed". Kagami laughed uproariously and slammed a fist on the table. "Kagami-kun. We are in public"

"But that's hilarious!"

"You know whats even weirder?"

"hm?" Kagami asked with another mouth full of food.

"I'm pretty sure that drawer had spare plastic bags. I have no idea how Akashi-kun got those scissors"

Kagami shuddered, "Damn that kid is weird as hell. They all are. So, this is why we're eating out instead of cooking right?"

"Yes. They're all passed out in the kitchen still"

"But they're going to wake up eventually. What then?"

"I'm hoping with the alcohol and the concussions, they'll forget all about last night" Kuroko sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Wellp. Ya gotta do what you gotta do"

"I didnt think I was so naiive. I thought of myself as very observant" Kuroko groaned

"Yeah well. People are less aware in their own situation" Kagami shrugged.

"This situation...I can't handle well."

"The many people love you thing?"

"The Kagami-kun is more logical than me thing"

"Oi!"

"I made a joke. I wont apologize. It was good."

"whatever lover boy"

"On that note, I dont think they love me. Just...childish crushes?"

"The biggest problem is that you think of them as kids"

"They are kids"

"They're adult...ish...enough. I mean when we were their age, we wanted to be treated like adults"

"But we were kids"

"Fine. Whatever. Even still. Are you telling me their feelings aren't valid just because they're young?" Kagami smirked. Knowing he had effectively one-upped Kuroko.

Kuroko sat silently mulling over Kagami's words. "I suppose you're right." He sighed. Kagami grinned an fist pumped under the table.

"I saw that" Kuroko sighed.
