Wednesday night, the debate commenced on schedule. Eve saw the split-screen from Keeler's portable television, but most only heard this debate through loudspeakers.

Walker: Mr president, why have you granted assylum to traitors, yet denied honest Americans access to your shelters?
Mason: I have no shelter to withstand the asteroid. I have made it clear that collective soldiers were granted lottery chances. Less than loyalist soldiers, but I was not going to exclude that large a number of people.
Walker: But you allow people to starve to death.
Mason: There have been food shortages since 2/4. I have tried to provide relief.
Walker: As long as your elite has far more than they need to live cmfortably.
Mason: I can assure you that even in the White House, people are living on less.
Walker: Pardon me if I don't take your word on this. But ELE is God's punishment on a sinful world. And you've been as complicit in this as any president.
Mason: I took an oath to the people of the United States of America. I've done my best to ensure that our people survive. Although we may soon become several countries, each within it's own Ark.
Walker: So you admit that yu've given up on America even surviving.
Mason: I admit to taking precautions to insure the survival of our species. I still have hope that the original warheads will divert the asteroid. In order for that to work, this city must survive. Therefore, I appeal to all of you to abandon yur crusade. Go home, try to live in peace. This capitol will survive, and we will take whatever measures are neccessary to defend this city.
Walker: The capitol is doomed. A modern Babylon about to experience God's greatest wrath. But, there are some, within Washington, who might actually be capable of recieving Christ before it's to late. That's why I agreed to this debate. To beg you to accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior. Do not die defending this city of the damned. Join us in the Lord's army, and be taken into the Millenial kingdom when this world ends. But know this. Whataever you chose, this city is domed.
