Ed.
When we got in from the party that night, we'd both had a few too many and I was surprised by Lucy's request after she had kicked off her shoes.
'Can I have a cup of tea?'
'What? Now?' I asked, laughing at the request.
'I like cups of tea before bed.' She pouted, making me smile.
'You should've said last night!' I said, realising she hadn't had one before we'd gone to bed the previous night. I walked into the kitchen and filled up my kettle, trying my best not to spill water everywhere. Graham meowed at me from the ground next to him so I filled up his bowl whilst I waited for the kettle to boil. Music started, so I turned around feeling confused. Lucy had turned on the music channel and was dancing around whilst Graham circled her. I shook my head. I was in a madhouse. I made us each a cup of tea and walked into the living room, placing them on the windowsill so that they didn't get spilt. The song changed and Michael Buble's voice filled the room.
'You're a falling star, you're the get away car.
You're the line in the sand when I go too far.
You're the swimming pool, on an August day.
And you're the perfect thing to say.'
'I love this song!' She grinned, singing along. I walked over to join her with her dance, forgetting that this wasn't the kind of music I usually listened to (even if I did know the words).
'And you play it coy but it's kinda cute.
Ah, when you smile at me you know exactly what you do.
Baby don't pretend that you don't know it's true.
'cause you can see it when I look at you. '
I placed a hand on the small of her back and took her hand in my other. She smiled with a blush, putting her free hand on my shoulder. Having to learn to dance for my Thinking Out Loud video had come in handy after all.
'And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It's you, it's you, you make me sing.
You're every line, you're every word, you're everything.
You're a carousel, you're a wishing well,
And you light me up, when you ring my bell.
You're a mystery, you're from outer space,
You're every minute of my everyday.'
Hoping she was never going to tell anyone about this and risk ruining my street cred, I sang the next part of the song to her as we danced, making her blush.
'And I can't believe, uh that I'm your man,
And I get to kiss you baby just because I can.
Whatever comes our way, ah we'll see it through,
And you know that's what our love can do. '
She smiled and I stopped singing before it would all get a bit too much.
'And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It's you, it's you, you make me sing.
You're every line, you're every word, you're everything.'
When the song had finished, I pulled her in for a kiss and whispered to her, 'your tea's getting cold.'
My alarm woke us up the next day and I groaned, wishing I had agreed for us to have breakfast with Sky and Zed on another day. I was surprised my head didn't hurt, but I'd slept really well, especially with Lucy beside me. 'Is it morning already?' She grumbled, making me laugh.
'We've had eight hours sleep.' I whispered, kissing her forehead.
'Not enough.'
'Come on, rise and shine. Shower's yours first.'
'Okay.' She huffed, getting out of bed, still looking beautiful even though she had bed hair and no make-up on. 'I'm going.'
We met Zed and Sky at Camden Town tube station, where we walked to Frank's, my favourite place for cooked breakfast. Frank greeted us with a cheery 'hello' on the way in and he led us to the booth I usually sat in, which was tucked away at the back of the restaurant.
'So did you have a good time last night?' Sky asked us after we had ordered.
'It was great fun!' Lucy smiled.
'And the guys want to hear her demo but she was trying to keep that quiet.' I added with a wink. I was proud of my girl and I didn't want to hide it.
Frank came over and put a newspaper on the table in front of us. 'Making the front page for a change, Ed.' He winked before disappearing. We looked at the paper and sure enough, it was there; a picture of Ed and I posing together at the party last night.
'That's a lovely photo.' Sky commented with a smile. It really was. She opened up the paper and inside were two more pictures; one of us laughing and one of me kissing her cheek. 'So.. Halloween.' Sky said, closing the paper and changing the subject. 'You've whisked us away from our college Halloween party, so you'd better have something planned over here.'
The three of them looked at me whilst a smile played on my lips. There were a lot of good Halloween parties in London and Halloween was the perfect time to go out and not be recognised. 'Firstly, I think that dressing up as superheroes is a must as it would be pretty ironic.'
'Can't disagree there.' Zed nodded in agreement.
'You just want to dress up as superman.' Lucy rolled her eyes. 'I've seen the pyjama bottoms.' Zed raised his eyebrow, so I quickly took that as my cue to continue.
'We've done superheroes before though.' Sky frowned, shaking her head.
'No you've done superheroes.'
'Can't we have a Disney theme?'
'Well, the best place to go for Halloween is Shaka Zulu.' I said, certain about one thing; where we were going.
xx-xx-xx
Sky.
After breakfast, we split into guys and girls to get our costumes for Tuesday as it was only five days until Halloween. I was a bit nervous about spending time alone with Lucy as I hardly knew her, but so far things had been fine. We'd caught the tube to Oxford Street, where there were a lot more shops to choose from.
'So which superhero are you going for?' Lucy asked me with a shy smile, showing that she was just as nervous as me.
'I think we should ditch the superhero fancy dress. It's chosen all the time.' I said with a frown.
'I completely agree!' She laughed as we walked into a huge Fancy Dress shop. 'Just not costumes like that please!' She crinkled up her nose at the PVC and crotchless section at the back of the store.
'I couldn't agree more!' I said, my eyes wide. 'How would something like that be comfortable?!'
'And it's hardly sexy with bits hanging out is it?'
We both laughed at that. It was a fair point. It was too Fifty Shades of Grey for my liking. We split up, walking around the store and looking at different outfits. They had everything from pope costumes to Scooby Doo characters and even Disney. I'd have loved to dress up as a Disney Character, but we wanted to go for a group-theme and I knew Zed would hate it.
'Sky! I've got an idea!' Lucy called from the other side of the shop. I walked over to join her where she was stood. 'What about pirates? Ed made a comment about wanting to be one the other day and look they've got girl's costumes that are sexy but not slutty. They could be cute.'
I thought for a moment. 'Shall we each try one on?'
Ten minutes later, we were stood in the dressing room admiring each other's outfits. I'd chosen an off-the-shoulder white blouse with a black corset decorated with a skull and a black and white slit-side maxi skirt. With a black and white headscarf and the boots I had back in the hotel, it would look great.
'You look fantastic!' Lucy grinned.
'So do you!' I replied with a smile and she did; she had a burgundy-coloured skirt with a petticoat underneath and it was slightly shorter at the front than the back, landing halfway down her thighs. The top consisted of a white off-the-shoulder blouse and a light brown and dark brown striped bustier, pulled together at the front by a burgundy ribbon. On her head she wore a brown pirate hat with a white feather. 'I think we need to call the boys and tell them about the change of plan. Pirates is definitely happening!'
After my interview at Sugar Magazine and my performance and interview on the Graham Norton show, Zed decided we would head away from the city for the weekend and I was glad. Between working and studying for college, it had been a busy time in London. I wasn't the only one struggling; from her text messages, I knew Lucy was finding it hard rehearsing non-stop with the band Ed had found her for the show. She was determined to do well, especially with Warner Records going to watch her. Whilst Lucy and Ed rehearsed on Saturday, we caught the train to Bath, where we were planning on spending a long weekend. The journey took two and a half hours, but I didn't mind when we passed through some beautiful English countryside.
'I've never thought to come to England for a break before.' Zed commented as we passed through some rolling hills. 'But it's really lovely.'
'I think lots of people are put off by the bad weather.' I laughed, although there was no sign of it.
I'd always wanted to visit Bath and when we arrived I wondered why I had never done so. We'd left our big suitcases at Ed's house, so we'd travelled pretty light thankfully. We dragged our suitcases from Bath Spa station to our hotel, which was thankfully only ten minutes away. We were staying in a Georgian Townhouse in the heart of the Roman-stroke-Georgian city. The owner swiftly checked us in and took us to our room, even though we had arrived earlier than planned. Our room was a premium one and it was spacious with a king-sized bed, dresser, leather sofa and a large ensuite bathroom.
Zed put our luggage down and gave me a seductive smile, pulling me close to him. 'How about we test out this bed?'
'Oh really?' I smiled and he reached down to kiss me softly.
The bed was perfect.
The weekend was a perfect getaway and I'd fallen in love with Bath. We'd been to the Royal Crescent and The Circus, two of the most expensive places to live and surprisingly, the smallest property was in my price range. We'd been to the Jane Austen centre where I'd dressed up in Pride and Prejudice gear, much to Zed's disappointment, and we'd visited the Roman Baths. It was quite nice being back in England and I knew that I was going to miss it when we returned to America. Monday afternoon we caught a train back to London and I had an early night as I had to be at the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show by 7.30am the next day.
At 7.30am on Halloween, I arrived at BBC Radio 1 and I couldn't help but laugh at the cobwebs, fake spiders, pumpkins and costumes the staff were wearing. Ed had come with me as my manager, so Zed was listening to me back at the hotel room.
'Hey Sky, nice to see you again Ed.' Fiona, the producer said with a smile, shaking both of our hands. 'I'm afraid there's something you have to do when you're on the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show on Halloween.'
Oh, god. What was I going to have to do. 'Okay...'
She handed us each a costume. 'It's compulsary to dress up I'm afraid. Bathroom is down the hall and I'll get you each a drink. Tea? Coffee?'
'Tea for me and Coffee for Sky.' Ed replied with a smile, inspecting his costume.
As we walked off to the bathroom I glared at him. 'You knew all about this didn't you?'
'Of course. Christmas jumpers in December, rabbit ears at Easter and spooky costumes at Halloween. It's the delights of being on a crazy radio show.' He winked. 'Now hurry up and get changed, you're on in twenty.'
Twenty minutes later and I was sat in a big, comfy, leather swinging chair wearing headphones and it front of the microphone, dressed as a witch minus the hat. Ed was sat on the sofa at the side of the studio, drinking his cup of tea and dressed as a clown. It was kind of creepy. Nick Grimshaw had introduced himself whilst 'I really like you' by Carly-Rae Jepsen was playing and now we were ready to start. He smiled at me from beside me whilst Fiona adjusted the webcam. I cringed. I was half-dressed as a witch and I was going to be on webcam for anyone on the website. Oh dear.
'Good morning and Happy Halloween!' Nick said into the microphone, adding an evil laugh to the end. 'So if you've just joined us, you won't know but we have a special guest in the BBC Radio 1 building today! We have Sky Bright with us ladies and gentleman!' The workers in the studio 'whooped' and applauded, making me blush. 'Welcome to BBC Radio 1, Sky.'
'Thank you, it's great to be here.' I replied, trying to put on a confident front.
'So this is your first time on a radio show in the UK, am I right?'
'Actually it's the first time I've been on any radio!' I laughed.
'Well that makes us even more special.' He grinned. 'For those of you not on webcam, we've got Sky here dressed as a witch for our Halloween special. Pictures will be on Facebook and the website later.' He adjusted his headphones, which were rubbing against his Frankenstein bolts. 'Sky, would you like to introduce your single before we play it?'
'Sure.' I smiled. 'This is 'One last time.''
The song came on and Nick took off his headphones at the same time as mine and the microphone lights turned off. 'Those things are hurting like a bitch. Thanks for the costume idea, Fifi.'
She gave him a smile from across the room in her dark angel costume. 'I didn't think you'd actually go for it Grimmy.'
'So, Sky,' Nick said, turning back to face me, 'when the song's over I'll ask you a few questions and then we'll play a little call or delete.' He turned to face Ed. 'I'd have got you to call Ed, but he's here so it doesn't work.'
'What about Taylor?' Ed said with a playful grin I knew too well.
'Ah yes, she's in Europe isn't she so it won't be the middle of the night!' Nick clapped his hands together. 'We'll call Taylor.'
'Poor Taylor.' I laughed, looking at Ed. 'You're such a wind up. I feel sorry for Lucy.'
'Ah yes, I've seen the papers. Nice one, mate.' Nick grinned.
'Back on in 30 seconds.' Fiona interrupted us.
Nick slipped on his heaphones and winced. 'Never again.' I followed suite, finding it weird to be listening to my song on the radio. 'That was Sky Bright with her new single 'One last time'. You're listening to the Radio 1 Breakfast Show and if you've just joined us we're lucky enough to have Sky here with us today. Sky, when is your album expected to be released?'
I looked over at Ed and he nodded. 'End of December. Most of the tracks have been recorded now, just have to juggle it with school.'
'Let me guess.. you're studying music at college?'
'Of course, is it that obvious?' I laughed.
'Right, Sky, we're going to play call or delete. So I'm going to scroll through your phone contacts and when you call 'stop' you either call them or delete them.' He said into the microphone and I tried not to laugh at how set up this was. 'I'm going to start scrolling... now.'
I paused for a moment, to give him 'enough time' to get to T. 'And stop.'
'Taylor Swift. So what will it be Sky, call or delete?'
'Call.'
'So we've got to make up some dramatic lie to tell her. What'll it be?'
'I don't know...' I replied nervously.
'Hmmm.' Nick thought allowed. 'Wait, I've got one. Pretend you're really offended that she didn't ask you to be in the music video she's been making with all those famous people in it. The video for 'Bad Blood.' It comes out next week, right?'
'Er... right okay.' I replied, knowing I could call her and apologise later.
'Right, it's ringing.' He plugged the phone into the speaker and placed it near me.
'Hey Sky, how are you?'
'I'm alright, I guess, Taylor, how are you?' I said, trying to sound a little down. It wasn't hard, I felt awful doing this to one of my friends.
'Yeah, I'm great thanks, Paris is lovely.'
'Oh... cool.'
'Sky, is something up?'
'I was just ringing to ask you a question... there's something bothering me.'
'Oh really?'
'Why didn't you ask me to be on your Bad Blood music video?'
There was an awkward silence at the end of the phone and I felt awful for her. 'I only chose people I've known for a while... I'm really sorry, I don't want you to be upset.'
'But I swear some of those people don't even know you that well. You were at my wedding and everything.' I looked over at Ed and he was laughing to himself. Cruel, cruel man.'
There was another silence. 'I'm sorry Sky... Er... I'm really sorry. God, I feel awful.'
So did I. I frowned and didn't say anything. What now?
'Hi, Taylor it's Nick Grimshaw here.' Nick broke in, thank goodness. 'You're on call or delete on BBC Radio 1.'
'Oh my god!' She squealed. 'I was feeling awful.'
'I'm so sorry Taylor.' I said. 'That was bad.'
'I don't believe it.'
'Right well we'll let you get on Taylor. Have a good time in Paris.' Nick said into my phone.
'Bye girls!'
We hung up and Nick handed my phone back to me. 'Wow, she totally believed that. I felt awful!'
'So did I!' I squealed. 'Poor, poor girl!'
He laughed. 'So on the topic of music videos, your new video is made up of lots of clips from your tour of the USA. What was that like?'
A criminal was stalking me with flowers. 'It was a really good experience. When you're there and everyone's singing lyrics back to you it's the best experience. It makes all the hard work and sleepless nights so worth it.' I replied with a smile.
'And what's it like working with Ed? I know you have to be careful what you say as he's right here for those of you who aren't on webcam.'
'Ed's a good manager.' I laughed. 'He has great ideas and is very supportive. His record label is going to go far.'
'Well that's all we've got time for today, but thank you so much for coming in Sky. It was a pleasure to take your radio virginity from you.'
'It's been great being here.'
'You're listening to BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show. Here's Sky with Ed Sheeran singing 'Everything has changed.'' Nick took off his headphones as his microphone light went off and he pulled out the bolts in his head. 'I am done with those damn things.'
When I was back at the hotel having breakfast shortly after, I sent Taylor another apology text feeling bad for her. Ed said she'd be fine but that didn't stop me being guilty. He headed off straight away, as poor Lucy was having her final rehearsal in preparation for Friday.
'You did good, wife.' Zed smiled when we were back in the hotel room. He pulled me in for a kiss.
'Thank you.' I replied with a smile. 'I feel bad for Taylor though.'
'She'll be fine.' He laughed. 'I'm sure it's not the only time that's happened. There's a great photo of your witchy outfit on the website by the way.'
'Oh no.' I cringed.
'It wasn't bad but I'm hoping you're wearing something a little sexier later.' He whispered, his voice husky.
'You have no idea.'
We joined Lucy and Ed at the apartment for dinner later, enjoying a takeaway pizza from a local italian restaurant. It was delicious and it was nice being able to hang out with the four of us. After dinner, we had two hours before we were heading out to Shaka Zulu so I grabbed two beers from the fridge and took Lucy upstairs, banning the boys from coming up unless they were desperate for the bathroom. We took over the spare bedroom, although it was clear that the bed wasn't slept in. I wasn't sure we were close enough for me to joke about that yet, so I handed over the beer.
'How was your last rehearsal?' I asked as she sat on the bed, kicking off her slippers. I passed over her beer and she took a sip.
'I think we've finally got there.' She sighed. 'I'm just so worried about Friday.'
'It'll be fine.' I replied, trying to reassure her. 'You'll be great and you can hardly see how many people are there because of the lights.'
'It's not the people that worry me.' She frowned. 'It's the fact that Ed's label are coming and the press too.' Her brows furrowed.
'Don't frown, you'll give yourself wrinkles.' I joked. 'But really, try not to worry. This night is all about having fun and letting our hair down. Literally. So take out that bun.'
She smiled at that and took out her hairband after putting her beer on the bedside table. 'Okay, so I pinned some nail and make-up ideas on pinterest for our outfits.' She reached into the wardrobe and pulled out a make-up bag full of different nail varnishes and nail stickers.
I laughed. 'You're as bad as Nina.'
'And possibly worse! Although I don't have all the fancy brands like she does so sorry about that.'
'Hey, I'm a college girl. I don't do fancy brands either.' I joined her seated position on the floor as she quickly filed her nails, which were already pretty round. I grabbed some nail varnish remover and got rid of the light blue colour I'd put on before flying to London.
'We need some music.' She said, reaching for her laptop. She opened the lid and opened up iTunes, putting on a playlist called 'Party.' Rihanna's voice filled the room as she brought up her Pinterest board. 'So, what do you think?'
An hour and a half later, we were ready. Both of us had our hair curly and down and we had copied Kiera Knightley's smokey-eyed make-up from Pirates of the Caribbean, thanks to Pinterest. Lucy had painted my nails to match my outfit. My thumb was black with a gold skull and cross bones on it and the others were black and white striped. She, on the other hand, had painted her nails white with gold tips. On her thumb nail was an anchor, but the others had no artwork on them.
'Let me get some pictures of us first.' I said, as she reached the door. She finished zipping up her boots and came back towards me, I put my arm around her waist and she crouched. Damn height difference. I snapped a few smiley selfies, then we did some with pouting. 'Lovely.' I laughed, looking back through them. I quickly posted on on Instagram whilst she checked her make-up.
Happy Halloween! Off for a night out with the gorgeous misslucymay and our men
She raised an eyebrow as her phone notificiation went off. 'Is that you?'
'Maybe.' I smiled. 'Now come on, let's go and show ourselves off to our fellas.'
xx-xx-xx
Ed.
It was half-past ten and I wondered if we were ever going to get out. Zed and I had been ready ages and we'd only had one beer and we'd started to get bored. We were dressed as pirates, as were the girls apparently. Zed hadn't wanted to wear a hat so he was wearing his black jeans, a black shirt buttoned right down with a long, skull necklace, a leather waistcoat and he also had a long, black overcoat which I knew he would ditch when we got in there. I was wearing black jeans, a baggy cream shirt with rolled-up sleeves and a brown waistcoat with my black pirate's hat. I had added a compass around my neck for an extra effect and we both had plastic swords tucked into our belts.
'Shall I go and hurry them along?' I suggested as Zed sat stroking Graham.
'No dude, you definitely don't interrupt a group of girls when they're getting ready.' His eyes widened and he shook his head. 'Do it and you'll regret it.'
I heard footsteps on the stairs. 'They might be ready after all.'
Sky came through the door first and I laughed as Zed's eyeballs popped out of his head. Then Lucy walked through the door and I knew that my face was mirroring his. Her dress was pretty short and her top was tight and quite low... I liked that pirate ladies wore corsets. I swallowed and she leant against the doorframe. 'So are we going out or what?'
The walk to Shaka Zulu was about fifteen minutes, so we decided we would walk there. Zed and Sky walked ahead, hand in hand, with Lucy and I following.
You're acting weird. She said, filling my head as she reached out for my hand. I intertwined my fingers with hers.
You look incredible. I don't know if I should be taking you out like that.
She raised an eyebrow and shot me a smile. What are you worried about?
A tall, dark, handsome stranger whisking you away. I wasn't sure if I'd ever felt insecure, but at this moment I did. She could have anyone she wanted, especially dressed like that, but she was walking down Chalk Farm Road with her hand in mine.
I don't need one, I've got my ginger soulfinder. She winked and I almost laughed at that.
I'm serious though, you look beautiful and dead sexy.
Not so bad yourself cap'n.
When we got to Shaka Zulu I was glad I'd phoned ahead. The queue to get in was huge, about forty people in fancy dress waiting to get in. It was a pricey place to go and a lot of people in the business went, which is why I enjoyed it so much. For one, you often ran into mates and secondly, people were less likely to bat an eyelid if you were someone on the television or on the radio as it was so common. A few people in the queue recognised us as we passed, calling my name, Sky's name and surprisingly, some even calling Lucy's name. I guessed that being in the paper had helped after all.
'Paparazzi ahead.' Zed called from in front, pointing and two photographers.
'Just smile and say our names to the guy with the clipboard.' I replied.
'Sky!'
'Ed!'
'Lucy!'
We smiled as the flashes went off, but we were quickly whisked away by the bouncer, who opened up the red rope and let us straight in. No need for names on the clipboard after all. Shaka Zulu was a cool place to go because it had an New Zealand theme to it. On the main floor there was a restaurant, where African and New Zealandish dishes were served; the food was incredible and I liked the new Australian dishes they'd also brought in like the ostrich burgers. The bar was downstairs. There was a large balcony with seating and an extra bar and then further downstairs was the large main bar in the middle of the venue, surrounded by wooden sculptures. There were booths spread around, their comfy chairs decorated with funky fabrics and there was a dancefloor. I'd booked us into a booth with table service and I was glad I had because the bar was crazy-busy. We were led to our booth by a girl in a tight leopard-print costume and then she took our orders, before disappearing.
I'm more worried that you're going to run off with someone like that. Lucy met my eyes and bit my lip, which made my breath catch. Dressed like that and biting my lip was going to kill me.
That's never happening. I replied. I squeezed her hand under the table.
'Here you go, guys.' The waitress said, bringing our drinks back. She handed a cocktail to Sky and Lucy and a bottle of Desperados to me and to Zed.
'Cheers.' Zed said, holding up his bottle.
We all clinked glasses. 'Cheers.'
A group of friends near us started whooping and cheering as one of them downed their drink. The girls looked over, their eyes wide.
'Reminds me of that night Leon and Nina were trying to get us all drunk!' Sky commented with a laugh. 'My first ever drinking game.'
'Oh, don't, takes me back to university.' Lucy shook her head beside me. 'It's that damn song they sing.'
'What song?' Zed asked.
I knew exactly which one that Lucy meant to I smiled and we both chanted together. 'We like to drink with Zed because Zed is our mate and when we drink with Zed, he downs it down in 8... 7...' We signalled for him to drink so he did. '6... 5 .. 4... 3.. 2...1!'
'Oh my god.' Sky said, her eyes wide as she looked at her husband. 'Please don't puke later.'
'That was completely unfair.' Zed said, signalling the waitress to get him another drink. 'If we're doing this, we're doing this properly. We'll play 'I've never'.'
Sky groaned and I smirked. 'Not this again.'
'Oh come on Sky, don't leave me the only girl in this!' Lucy pleaded from beside me.
'Fine.' She sighed. 'I'll start... Never have I ever kissed someone on the first date.' The remaining three of us had a sip of our drink and Zed gave Sky a squeeze.
'My innocent wife!' He beamed.
'Yeah, right.' She said with a wink. 'You're up.'
'Okay.. never have I ever made front page news.' He smirked. The remaining three of us drank again.
Lucy smiled at me and then at Sky. 'Never have I ever performed on a tour.' We both shook our heads and had another sip of our drink.
'That'll change before you know it.' I grinned at her. 'Never have I ever got married.' Sky and Zed had a sip of their drink and I sat backwards, resting one of my hands on Lucy's knee. She blushed at my touch.
'Let's make this more interesting.' Sky said, surprising us all with a wicked smile. I wondered why I'd agreed to play this game. 'Never have I ever slept in Ed Sheeran's bed.' Lucy gave her a playful glare as we both sipped our drinks. She tutted, looking at both of us. 'I knew that spare bed hadn't been slept in.' Lucy blushed and I kissed her on her cheek.
'As we seem to be going down this route...' Zed said, cracking his knuckles. 'Never have I ever seen Ed Sheeran shirtless.'
Sky, Lucy and I drank our drinks. I shook my head at Zed. 'You nearly did earlier.'
'I still might later.' He shrugged. 'I'm already getting far too warm in here.'
'Never have I ever had sex outside.' Lucy said with a sly smile and I was glad I couldn't be caught out there. Sky and Zed looked at each other and sipped their drink. 'Oh my god! What was that we were saying about you being innocent Sky.' She tutted, copying what Sky had done to her earlier.
The game didn't last much longer after it had taken a downwards spiral like that and after a few cocktails, the girls were more than ready to get on the dancefloor. Sky was dancing in her seat opposite so Lucy pointed to the dancefloor.
'I'm going to go and dance with Sky.' Lucy whispered in my ear before scooting over my lap, her body brushing against mine as she passed.
'Okay, have fun.' I replied.
Sky grabbed my girlfriend's hand and they headed off to the crowded dancefloor, which was filled with superheroes, zombies, witches and even some animals. Zed and I sat chatting with another drink as we watched the girls dancing. Lucy's body swayed in time to the music and she had so much energy, moving quicker when the beat dropped. She grabbed Sky's hand and they danced together, twirling each other around and I was sure they were singing along too. I was glad they were getting on well together. It made my life a little easier. I was always going to have to spend a fair bit of time with Sky as I'd signed her, so I was glad that Lucy was getting to know her. 'Worth it' by Fifth Harmony filled the speakers and I swallowed as I watched Lucy's hips.
'Shall we go and dance with them?' Zed asked as I finished my drink.
'Okay.' I replied, standing up. He put down his empty bottle and took off his jacket, throwing it across our private booth. We walked over to the girls and I placed my hands on Lucy's hips. What I did expect was for her to close the distance between our bodies so that she was dancing against me. I sucked in a deep breath. Why had I agreed to come and dance with the girls? I looked across at Zed who was too busy dancing with Sky to notice. Lucy turned around so that she was facing me, hooking her hands around the back of my neck. I moved my body in time with hers, in time with the music as she sung along, her eyes looking right into my soul.
'That was so much fun!' Lucy said as we walked home at 2am. Sky and Zed had left just before us and had caught a cab back to their hotel. 'Did you have a good time?'
I was busy focussing on where we were walking, trying not to look at her as I was worried I might embarrass myself. She was driving me crazy. 'Yeah, it was great fun.' I replied with a smile. I had had a fantastic night and it had been a good Halloween, probably the best one I'd ever had. It was just that outfit and those eyes...
We reached my apartment, so I quickly unlocked the door and we walked in. I closed the door behind her and smiled. 'Let me guess... cup of tea?'
Lucy caught me by surprise, pushing me against the wall and pressing her lips against mine. She kissed me passionately, tangling a hand in my hair as I ran my hands gently along her back. She pulled away and gave me a sexy smile. 'A cup of tea would be nice.' I watched as she walked out of the corridor and into my living room, her hips swaying. I blew out the breath I'd been holding and headed into the kitchen, putting on the kettle.
'Not turning on some music today then?' I laughed as she sat down on my sofa, flicking through the copy of Q Magazine which was on the coffee table.
'Nope.' She replied, popping the 'p'. 'We've done a lot of dancing.'
'Yes we have.' Graham padded over to me, meowing at the empty water bowl. I filled it up with water and then poured some milk onto a saucer, hoping that he'd be a happy kitty. I finished making the teas and took them to the living room, putting them on the coffee table. After we had finished our tea, we headed upstairs to get ready for bed. I settled on my side of the bed after my shower, checking my e-mails and Facebook notifications. Sky had uploaded some pictures from the night and I quickly changed my profile picture to my favourite shot of the night, one of Lucy and I posing with our swords drawn. I sighed, content.
'That was a big sigh.' I looked up to see Lucy walking into the room and my breath caught. She was wearing different pyjamas. Tiny black satin shorts and a matching strappy top. 'What?' She smiled, playfully, climbing into bed beside me.
'Nothing.' I replied, returning the playful smile. I reached over and cupped her face with my right hand, planting a kiss on her forehead and stroking the tiny freckles on her cheek.
Her nose wrinkled. 'Are you playing with my freckles again?'
'Maybe.' I grinned.
'I hate them.' She frowned. 'I love the tan but hate the freckles.'
They were hardly noticeable but I loved them. 'Well I like them.' I closed the gap between our faces before she could argue, kissing her softly. She moved closer to me, kissing me more passionately and running her hands over my bare chest. My hands fell to her waist and then I slipped them under the satin fabric onto the smooth skin on her hips. She moved so she was on top of me and I resisted the urge to moan as she continued to kiss me. Her tongue slipped inside my mouth and suddenly we were having a very steamy make-out session. Then she finished the kiss and kissed my cheek.
'Goodnight, soulfinder.'
I took a deep breath and turned off the light. 'Goodnight.'
