Chapter 394

.

July 18th, two days until impact. It was early evening, Friday, Eve could hear the faithful muslims being called to prayer. She also soon noticed the other morlocks beginning to surround her. It was obvious what they were about to do. Food was gone, and Eve was still new. They would eat her to insure their own survival another day. Eve had been working on a way to stop them. It was desperate, but the best she could do under the circumstances.

.

Eve: You won't eat me.

Leader: You have little milk left, not enough to keep us alive.

Eve: You misunderstand me. In this place, I made a deal with Satan himself. He promised to keep me alive until impact, in return for my soul. Anyone who tries to kill me, will be smited down by great and powerful Satan.

Leader: You lie.

Eve: I don't care enough to lie.

Leader: Why would the devil bother making a deal with you? You're already as damned as the rest of us.

Eve:You can ask him yourself soon enough. Anyway you all have two choices. You can leave me alone and try to avoid Hell for another, I'm guessing forty hours. Or try your luck and go down right now.

.

The morlock leader looked at his pack. He had to kill Eve an give them food, or they'd kill and devour him. He did fear Eve was right, but it might still be his only chance to avoid Hell just a little bit longer. He grabbed his cleaver and ran towards Eve. But before he got to her he keeled over in pain. The stress had given him a heart attack. The morlocks believed her story. One morlock, who'd been the leader's second-in-command, snapped his leader's neck and they all devoured his corpse. Eve knew she could probably escape now. The morlocks believed she was a witch, protected by Satan himself. But after all she'd done Eve couldn't face the light again. This darkness was where she belonged now.
