((Hello, everyone! I was playing some creepy music on the piano and now I want to write a creepy, dark chapter. What better place to do that than In the Dark, within the land of Creepy Pasta? Let's see how dark and scary I can take a single death.
This chapter is not for the faint of heart or those who don't like blood and gore.))
This chapter takes place on Mobius, several days after Dark and Sonic EXE took control of the world. It is in Dark's point of view.
This world is so unamusing.
I watched as Sonic EXE's minions rampaged in the streets of a town, chasing the citizens down and slashing them to bits. The small village had been overlooked for several days, but now was their time to suffer. It was only a projection on a wall; the images provided by some creatures that enabled us to have eyes on the city. Eyes of EXE, I believed they were called. I could see the sheer terror on the innocent people's face, and that was perhaps the most amusing thing. However, I was bored. Oh, so terribly bored. The matter of seeing people's deaths only through a screen was putting me to sleep. I'd been cooped up for what seemed like ages on the top floor of a large building Sonic EXE and I had cleared out the day after I rose to power. Now that the injuries my alter ego had received and passed down to me had healed, I wanted my own action.
"I'm going out," I said to Sonic EXE, who was standing nearby, looking out a window. He looked over at me with his blacked out eyes and gave me a nod.
I teleported into the city.
It was much more exciting to be within the action. People scrambled past me, desperate to get away from the horde of black zombie creatures wandering the streets. My own minions were much quicker and better at killing than the EXEs; black shadows zipped around between people, sucking out their souls and letting them drop like flies. However, the EXEs were better at prolonging death, making them suffer. The screams of people filled the streets, both of pain, fear and horror, and often all three. They were the cries of the dead and dying. It was music to my ears.
I walked forward, marking someone as my target. It was a young, teenage girl; a brunette human, her eyes wide, as was her mouth in a desperate scream. She tried to run, but I teleported in front of her, pushing her back the other way. She ran toward an alley, desperate to get away. It was a futile move, as a wall blocked her way out. I followed her, knowing she was only a cornered animal, and I was the hunter. She stopped when she realized she was trapped and spun around, holding a shaking Swiss army knife. I blasted it out of her hand with knife-like energy, slicing her wrist. She screamed and held her wrist, tripping over a fallen trash can in the alley and falling. The blackness of the sky spread as my Darkness reached over the city. I approached her, the darkness of the sky silhouetting my body, my glowing white eyes the only thing visible. She shrieked as I shot a needle-like blast just off of her heart, so as she breathed, the blast would only come closer and closer to her heart. I picked up her knife and dropped it, blade down, into her stomach, and she screamed, coughing up blood. As a bonus, I cut off her feet so she couldn't run away and get help. With that, I walked off, listening to her desperate and agonizing screams, choked by her own blood yet still ringing out above the rest, as I left her there to die.
By now, most of the people lay in the streets, lifeless. Just to be sure, I sent a white and black energy blast into the air that split like birds in a flock dispersing to home in on living souls. There were several, and I heard some people who had attempting to hide by feigning death scream as the energy pierced their hearts. I flew up high into the air.
"Listen to me, all who survived," I shouted, my voice magnified and carrying across the open air. "You may lucky now, but you won't last much longer. We will seek you out and kill you, slowly and painfully as punishment for evading us. Be afraid. You may run, but you can't hide from the wrath of Darkness!" I spread my arms, daring them to defy me, and vanished in a flash of black light.
"You weren't there long," Sonic EXE hissed when I returned.
I brushed off my hands as if attempting to rid them of dust. They were bloodstained, but I couldn't have cared less. "I satisfied my bloodlust for now," I murmured.
"Have you?" Sonic EXE smirked, showing needle-like, bloody fangs. He had been feasting on several live rats that had the unfortunate fate of wandering right into our abode, explaining the blood in his teeth. "That won't last long."
I knew that. There were several times a day when I went out and murdered someone for my pleasure, to knock out boredom and fulfil a strong need for blood. Even when I had been injured I had done this. Seeing the life seeping out of someone, the blood pooling around them, and the different faces they make right before death that are frozen on their face when it meets them, is like a drug to me. Like a psychological high. Maybe that makes me insane. But oh, insanity is a sweet release.
"Your friends are still in the city," Sonic EXE pointed out. "They could find you."
"And if they do?"
"You will not be prepared."
I threw my head back and laughed. "I'm always prepared for the survivors, my cold-blooded friend," I smirked, my white eyes shining. "They are mere mortals. They don't stand a chance."
"So you think, but I sense that you underestimate them," Sonic EXE said. "They were able to tear up my doll quite easily."
"You forget that they did not come out unscathed," I responded.
"Even so," he said, "I recommend that you do not let your ego get the best of you. It will be your downfall, and I will not stick around to see you humiliate yourself."
"Your loss," I waved my hand. "It will not be me being humiliated." Then I paused, looking at him out of the corner of my eye, a sly smirk spreading across my face. "Are you saying you fear them?"
"Not in the slightest," he snarled, his blood red eyes glowing in anger. "I prefer not getting my hands dirty with the insides of such pitiful beings. At least my dimension was difficult for me to take over. Yours is too easy."
"Of course you don't like getting your hands dirty," I shrugged. "I doubt you even know how to kill!"
"Silence before I wring your neck!" he snapped. "You are the only exception I'll make to that rule. I suggest we find another means of satisfying our needs instead of murdering each other. As much as I regret to admit it, if we were at each other's throats all the time, there would be no one to rule this world. And that's just what the enemy would want; for us to tear each other apart so they can reclaim this world in their wretched hands."
I shook my head. "You forget that the 'enemy' you speak of are people who looked up to my counterpart. The last thing they want is for me to die, which is to my benefit, a benefit you do not have the luxury of having."
He sneered at me.
"All hatred aside, what is this 'other means of satisfying our needs' you spoke of?" I asked.
At that, Sonic EXE grinned, a grin that spread from eye to eye. "We find targets and collect them. It should be no problem."
I thought for a minute, then smirked. "I like the sound of that. I can take out my enemies easily."
"Exactly," he said. He whistled, and one of his EXE Eyes flew through a broken window and fluttered before him, awaiting commands. Sonic EXE hissed something in his demonic language that not even I could understand. I assumed he was telling his EXE Eye to spread the message to search out the survivors and bring them to us. The EXE, like a faithful messenger pigeon, flew off, its song the same demonic language Sonic EXE had spoken.
Thus began our daily executions, our victims dragged to our alter as sacrifices to Sonic EXE and I, Dark Sonic, the gods of this new world, and we built our palace from their remains.
((This is just insight as to what Dark was doing at the time while Sally, Shadow, and Amy were trying to stop him. The Dark Ages (as Sally called them at the end of chapter 14) really could have lasted weeks, since when they went back in time and then returned to their own time, any amount of days could have passed. If there are any other inconsistencies in my story that you noticed, please point it out and I will try and correct it with a bonus chapter or A/N. That's mostly what these bonus chapters are for; to correct inconsistencies and fill in plot holes, as I noticed many when I reread this story.
If you have suggestions for bonus chapters, character epilogues, or want to know a certain character's point of view during a certain event, feel free to leave a review! I will consider your idea and do my best to incorporate it in the story.
Finally, I apologize that I haven't been posting much lately. I'm moving very soon, so while that's being situated, I don't have much time to write. Also, I just simply haven't been in the mood, distracted by YouTube and other things. I wish I could've written more this summer, but it's coming to a close sooner than I'd like and I didn't take advantage of the time. I'll do my best to post more this month, though this month will be busier than any other. Thank you for your patience!
That's all for now, stay tuned for more bonus chapters or new chapters for other stories! Bye!))
