Meanwhile back in Kansas.
At the gale residence Ellie and Aislynn were helping Mrs. Gale with the triplets while henry was out at the barn with the animals. Aislynn couldn't help but worry about Dorothy as she held Robert in her arms. It didn't help that the two of them couldn't keep the kids still for more than a second before they tried to struggle from their grasp to crawl after Em who had just taken Alicia to her room to change her. But Aislynn was definitely more worried about Dorothy and expressed this.
"Dorothy will be fine Ace, she always is." Ellie told her as she set Amber down in the playpen.
"I know, but that still doesn't stop me from worrying." Aislynn replied as she walked over to the play pen and set Robert down.
"I can't thank you guys enough for helping me with the kids while henry is taking care of the chores in the barn." Em said walking in with a freshly changed Alicia.
"You don't have to thank us Mrs. Gale." Ellie said as Em set Alicia down with her siblings.
"You know, they really don't like being separate from each other, Robert and Amber kept pointing in your direction and trying to get away from us so they could crawl after you." Aislynn said handing a stuffed bear to Robert.
"I know, I really hope that this doesn't stick with them when they're ready to enroll in school." Em said,
"It happens with siblings Mrs. Gale, especially twins and triplets, I read about that in a book once, it's probably still at the manor." Aislynn said.
"Don't worry about it ace, I'll ask Mr. Foreman for advice on it later, he's coming over for lunch." Em replied kneeling down next to the play pen.
Meanwhile back in Oz.
When Dorothy, Alex, and Toto returned to Dorothy's room they found Elena, Alyssa, Brianna, Chrissy and Caitlyn waiting for them.
"So, how are you feeling?" Elena asked walking over.
"I'm fine, I've got a terrible after taste in my mouth from exhaling all this mist, not to mention bad breath, but other than that I'm completely fine." Dorothy replied belching and exhaling some more pink mist.
"Why are you girls here any ways?" Alex asked curiously.
"We're friends with Dorothy, we're allowed to show some concern as well aren't we?" Caitlyn asked curiously.
"Well, yes, but it would have been nice to get some warning." Alex replied.
"Dorothy, drop by my ice cream parlor at some point, I really, really, really, must be getting back there." Brianna said looking at the clock and running out.
"Note to self, never disturb Brianna during business hours." Alyssa said watching Brianna run out.
"Chrissy, and I should probably get going as well, Alyssa we all have work to do, Dorothy we'll talk to you later, probably lunch or dinner." Caitlyn said taking Chrissy's hand and dragging her out.
"I can't eat without going into a coughing fit though!" Dorothy shouted as she burped and exhaled more mist.
"Dorothy, Elena and I are always available if you and alex need help with anything, I should make sure the girls get back to their posts, we were all worried about you since you didn't show up to breakfast and Elena and I agreed it would be a good idea for all of us to check on you quickly." Alyssa said joining her sister.
"You guys should really get back to your posts now though." Alison said walking in.
"I know, but you said it was fine before you realized something and ran off as quickly as you could." Elena said.
"Yes, because I knew these guys at this point were going to mostly likely check on the slippers, I ran straight to Alex's room to stop them, luckily after a few hours we determined they were safe." Alison said.
"So that's what took them so long?" Alyssa asked chuckling.
"Don't you have to contact Terrance?" Alison asked teasingly as she walked away.
"Oh shut up." Alyssa replied, then thought about it for a second and ran out of the room.
Elena chuckled and said she was heading back to the sick bay and left the room as well. Dorothy smiled and walked over to her bed. She then sat down upon it and slid the slippers off before lying down. Toto barked and ran over. Jumping up on the bed to join her. Alex walked over and sat next to her. Picking up the picture of Dorothy and her parents.
"You're probably going to hate me for bringing this up, but you do look a lot like your mother." Alex said sighing.
Dorothy took out her reading glasses and put them on. She then looked at Alex and sighed. She said nothing in response. She merely belched again and exhaled more mist. He wasn't the first person to say that, and he most certainly would not be the last.
"I didn't upset you did I?" Alex asked worriedly
"No, it's just that even thinking about that thought, it hurts like the memories." Dorothy said exhaling even more mist.
"I won't bring it up again then." Alex said putting down the picture.
"Alex, I don't mind talking about them, it's just when I do memories start flooding back in and I can't stand it." Dorothy said turning her head to look at him.
"I know Dorothy, I know they do, you mention it a lot." Alex said scratching Toto behind the ears.
"I try to hide my pain, push back the memories, I was able to do it for years, but I find it harder and harder to forget." Dorothy said belching as she started tearing up.
"Dorothy, I know I must be hard for you but let's not dwell on it, is there anything you want to do while we wait for Glinda and Alison to finish the orb?" Alex asked curiously.
"Not really." Dorothy said taking off her glasses and pocketing them.
She sighed and sat up. She then walked over to her desk and took out a piece of paper and pencil. She then began to sketch. After about an hour Alex decided to get up and see what she was sketching. When he got over to her and looked over her should he found that she had sketched a picture of herself and Alex dancing. He chuckled and placed a hand on Dorothy's, he then took her hand and led her to the middle of the room. She smiled and they began to dance.
Meanwhile at the jester's hide out.
The jester had spent most of the previous night, and so far most of the morning watching the crystal. He had spent his time switching between watching Kansas and oz. he was waiting for the next part of his master plan to be ready. He was excited about it, he knew this one would be a shock to all of the citizens of both Kansas and Oz. he just need a few more weeks and the next part of his master plan would be ready to activate.
"Oh, they're going to love this one, I just know it." He said chuckling to himself,
He then turned around and pulled a sheet off of a large crystal ball. Half was a light blue and the other half was emerald green. He couldn't wait for it to be time. Just a few more weeks he knew it. But first, he wanted to have a little fun. He waved the wand over the crystal and immediately the image switched to the gale farm house.
Back in Kansas.
"Yes, they won't like to be separate from each other Emily, it's incredibly common with triplets." Mr. Foreman said taking a sip from a cup of tea.
"What about school though, when they are old enough to enroll, how will they cope?" Em asked curiously.
"They'll manage, trust me." Mr. Foreman replied.
"I do, it's their mental health I worry about." Em said as Henry finally walked into the house.
"Ah, Jon, pleasure to see you." Henry said walking over to the kitchen sink and washing his hands.
"Same to you henry." Mr. Foreman replied.
"Em been telling you her worries about the kids?" Henry asked as he dried his hands off on a nearby wash towel.
"Yep." Mr. Foreman said looking out the open kitchen door to see Ellie and Aislynn playing with the triplets.
"I told Em she shouldn't worry about it, they'll be fine as they get older." Henry said.
"Quite right too." Mr. Foreman replied.
"I told you Em." Henry said chuckling.
"Henry, now is not the time." Em said looking out the window.
All of a sudden there was a loud crack of thunder that made them all jump. It was then the sound of tornado sirens could be heard.
"What!? That's not possible it's January." Mr. Foreman said getting up and looking outside.
"It's the Jester's work." Ellie called.
"Come on, we need to get the kids to the cellar." Em said running into the living room.
Soon Em had all three kids in their individual carriers and they were all out at the cellar door. When they were all safely in the cellar it was then that the lights of the cellar went out. Ellie closed her eyes and hoped she could contact her sister.
Back in Oz.
Dorothy all of a sudden had a gotten a rather sinking feeling. She had stopped dancing with Alex and sat down on her bed. She began to feel that something was definitely wrong. She belched and exhaled more mist before sliding on the slippers and running straight to Glinda's room. Her hand held out in front of her knowing orb or no orb the broomstick would still come to her. As she reached the door to Glinda's room the broomstick flew straight into her open hand. Glinda looked up at Dorothy worriedly.
"Glinda." Dorothy started to say before Glinda cut her off.
"Dorothy, I know, and I know what's happening." Glinda said referring to the crystal ball which was now dark.
Dorothy said nothing. She merely looked at Glinda curiously. She knew that Glinda was going to try to prolong things as much as she could before she had to tell Dorothy what was wrong. Alex and Toto ran into the room behind her. Glinda looked at Alex sadly. Alex sighed and took Dorothy's hand in his. Before Glinda sighed.
"Dorothy, your home, another tornado." Glinda said waving her hand in the direction of the crystal ball.
The crystal lit up and immediately showed the scene of a tornado, standing in what looked like the park in the middle of town. The vortex was spinning but the cyclone was standing completely still. Every now and again a green bolt of lightning would strike the ground and a loud crack of thunder would follow. The vortex was sucking up various things and throwing them back out the top destroying them. Dorothy looked at the scene speechless. She belched and let out some more pink mist.
"My cousins, my friends, Ellie, Aislynn, my aunt and uncle are they alright!?" Dorothy asked nervously.
"Yes, I've looked in on all of them, they've all taken refuge in their storm cellars." Glinda said.
"Glinda, please, you have to do something, anything!" Dorothy shouted as she leaned against the broomstick.
"Dorothy, I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do, I can't send you home, and the scarecrow won't let you use the rainbow mover in that weather." Glinda said.
Dorothy started to cry. She wished she could get home and stop it, but the scepter didn't even work. She then threw the broomstick to the side in anger and screamed in fury.
"Glinda, please, do something, use anything to stop the storm!" Dorothy screamed.
"Dorothy please, calm down." Alex said placing a hand on Dorothy's shoulder.
Dorothy screamed and pushed Alex back causing him to trip over the scepter and fall backwards.
"Now that's going too far, Dorothy you need to calm down." Glinda said sternly.
"No, I will not calm down!" Dorothy shouted.
"Dorothy, there isn't anything I can do, not without my wand." Glinda said referring to it.
Dorothy looked at the wand which was sitting in the corner, still glowing at the center. It was then that Dorothy remembered.
"Fine, if you won't do anything, I'll take matters into my own hands!" Dorothy shouted backing away from the desk.
Glinda then realized that Dorothy now had the slippers on. She looked at Dorothy with a panicked look. Dorothy sniffed and looked at them with a quick look of anger.
"Dorothy, No!" Glinda shouted getting up.
"Glinda, I'm so sorry, take me home to Kansas." Dorothy said clicking the heels of the slippers together three times.
Well, it's been a while since I put a note down here. My only remark is, Here we go again.
