Damien looked around his non-magical room. Being back here, in his hometown, with his non-magical family, felt.. Odd. He no longer felt like he belonged here. Like he was an invader in a world that just was not meant for him. His adopted parents however, were wonderful people. They were active, fit, and encouraged the same in him. He had to admit he got fairly lucky in the adoption department. His Family was not incredibly wealthy, however, his dad did a lot of stunty extra stuff in television and movies. Being at Hogwarts made him miss television and movies a lot and the fact that not many other kids really understood them was hard. It was one of the main reasons he and Hermione got along so well is that they both had this.. Knowledge about a different world.
His Mother however, was a Yoga and Martial Arts instructor. He had been forced to learn many forms of fighting which made him very agile, he didn't think he would be as good a seeker as Harry, but he could probably still beat the three other teams seekers. The door to his room opened and his older sister walked in.
'Ah Damien, whatcha doing just staring out the window. We only get you for like, a week, and then we gotta ship you back off. Why don't you just stay here.'
Damien looked down. His Sister didn't get why he had to do this. She missed him, She wanted him to be like her. Or maybe she was Jealous.
'I have to sis.. I…. can't explain it..'
'Nah, I totally get it. I AM fifteen after all' The Girl laughed. 'OHH My boyfriend is coming over dinner tonight you HAVE to meet him. Although.. No telling him about your little secret oh kay. I don't want to scare him off.'
The two siblings laughed. Damien always was close to his sister. Even though she wasn't related to him by blood, she was always there for him. This was still his family.
' Thanks Carrie. I need to finish wrapping the presents for my friends. I'll come downstairs in a bit.. Maybe we can play a game or two, before Prince Charming shows up.'
'Ha Ha, he really is charming. You are gonna love him.'
As his sister left his room. He turned his attention to the little Brown book. He didn't know where he got it. It was always there. He asked his parents about it before and they simply told him he was being crazy. That it did not exist. The book talked to him.. It was a very weird experience. He could write in the book, whose pages seemed to never end, and his words would disappear and would be replaced by the words of another person.
He never had to wonder who it was, not until he really entered the wizard world and his whole childhood shattered. The book contained what was 'left' of the Dark Lord. He didn't know the details. The book had went to him for some reason, one that he was unaware of and the Dark Lord wasn't telling him, although he had the suspicion that the Dark Lord knew. All he knew was that the Dark Wizard couldn't really help with the current situation without the Diadem of Ravenclaw.
When he got to Hogwarts, he laughed at the thought of finding this artifact. He brought it up to his Head Teacher, Snape who stated it was a myth. However the Dark Lord was, understandably, very knowledgeable. He gave the exact location of the artifact. Know all he had to do was send it off to Draco's dad. But he couldn't do it until the time was right.
The Dark Lord could easily take him over.. But apparently in his current form the Dark Lord could only truly possess the boy when he was willing. This would wipe his memories and the Dark lord could use his magic to further wipe it. This was how they had protected the exacts of their plan from Dumbledore. The boy was afraid of the man after what he had heard though. It took a lot of Convincing that he wouldn't go off killing everyone again. But over time he had begun to trust the Dark Lord. For now at least. So once he left Hogwarts, He could wrap the Diadem from his home and send it off to . From there, he would just help Harry until it was time for Dumbledore to be allowed to know of the Dark Lord's Revival.
He began to wrap his actual presents as well. He really liked having friends. The muggle kids all thought he was weird or too quiet. It really wasn't too different at Hogwarts, not many people liked him either. But at least he felt like he had some friends there. That he belonged there.
As he sent the gifts off with his owl, he never understood how wizarding owls could carry so much, he wondered if he was doing the right thing. Would he regret his decision. He was only eleven though, how could he know the right thing. He figured he should spend time with his family before he left, he would miss them when he left again and should spend as much time as possible with them.
Snape was sitting in his Office. He was allowed to leave for the day if he wanted to but he really saw no need to. He didn't trust Quirrell at all. The man was plotting something.. Snape knew he wanted the Stone, and Dumbledore was perfectly content to allow Harry, his Step-Son who did not know he was his Step-Father, do all the dirty work here.
'Professor Snape'. Snape looked up to see the foreign boy Verik standing there. Snape never liked the boy from the second he meet the kid. He gave off a chilly vibe.
'I have to show you this.' The boy pulled out a black book. 'It just appeared one day… a while ago. But whatever is in this thing, it's trying to control me.'
Snape gasped. That book… He had seen it before.
'That book is dangerous. How about you give it to me and I will take care of it.'
'Okay.' The boy's voice seemed to cool just a tiny bit. 'Oh it's almost dinner time I guess we should head up to the Great Hall.'
The pair walked up to the Great Hall. But by the time Snape had returned to his Office the book was gone.
Dumbledore stood in front of the Mirror, deep under the school. This wasn't the way his plan was supposed to go, but the less Harry knew about this mirror beforehand the better. He was too clever and that could ruin his plan. ALthough not everything had gone as he taught over the past 10 years, he had readjusted quite fine. Too bad for Quirrell he did not even know how disposible he was, or else he would never have come back. Silly man Dumbledore taught to himself. He had an amazing teacher why let the man go to bring a subpar professor in Quirrell back if he wasn't to be part of Harry's test.
He taught how would this go...What was Voldemort's plan, and what was the plan of Lily Potter.
'Sir.' That was the voice of Snape. If only he knew. Dumbledore saved the man, and this was how he was repaid. Oh well, Snape would become his pawn again after Dumbledore forced Voldemort to kill Lilly.
'I need to talk to you.'
Dumbledore laughed and gave his usual twinkling eye. As Snape began his story about the little black book Dumbledore couldn't help but think, things are about to get interesting.
