((Hello, everybody! I figured it's about time for a new bonus chapter! Also, PLEASE leave suggestions for new bonus chapters, or I'll just stop adding them, because I want your input on them. I don't want to come up with them all myself when it's based on what you want to see.
Also, I just realized this story has 20,000 views. HOLY CHAOS THANK YOU. THAT'S A LARGE NUMBER. But anyway, let's get to it!))
This story takes place while Sonic is controlled, soon after Sally and Shadow come back from the future, and as Eggman is murdered by Sonic EXE and Dark. This is in Dark's/Sonic's point of view.
"Welcome minions, lost souls, EXEs, and those watching at home!" I addressed the audience. My own dark phoenixes, and Sonic EXE's zombified victims and wide, stitch-mouthed subjects stood on the path leading up to the alter, between a river of blood on either side. An old camera was set up in the back of the room, controlled by a tortured prisoner. "Last week, we saw the execution of Rotor the Walrus, the flabby mechanic and friend of the former Sonic. This week is extra special because today, we will be executing the one who created me, and whom I should be thanking, but we all know I'm not gonna do that." The crowd roared with laughter, which sounded like nails against a chalkboard. "Guards, bring out the prisoner, Ivo 'Eggman' Robotnik!"
The camera panned to a set of wrought iron gates, which flung open. Two zombie EXEs dragged a very blood-stained, beat, and chained-up Eggman to the guillotine. The crowd booed and hissed a demon's hiss. As they secured him to the ominous-looking device, I continued talking.
"This man is the reason I'm here. Because of a malfunctioning mind control ray, I am here. Or was it because of him and the ray? Nah. The ray did nothing. Sonic EXE here just thought of it as a good chance to let me go. But I should thank him for the perfect opportunity. And what do we do to people that have influenced me or had any major connection to my goody-two-shoes counterpart?"
"Execute!" the audience of subjugates roared.
"Exactly!" I cried. "Now, do you want him to live, and be turned into an EXE like some of you, or shall we execute him?"
"Execute!"
The camera panned to Eggman's terrified face. He was gagged. He couldn't beg for mercy.
"You want him gone?"
"Execute!"
"Who are your rulers?"
The audience gave a variety of noises from hissing, spitting, and groaning, yet I could identify it as praise.
I smirked. "That's right." I lifted my hand, and the blade on the guillotine lifted to the peak of the machine. "As my counterpart says," I stated, and then said in a mocking tone, replicating my counterpart's voice, "do it to it." I let my hand fall as the crowd laughed and cheered, and the blade dropped down onto Eggman's neck, and his egg-shaped head was chopped clean off. It rolled to my feet and I picked it up, and after examining it amusedly, held it up to show the crowd, which cheered madly. Blood still dripped from where his neck had been.
There was a sharp, all-to-familiar twinge of pain in my head, which surprised me enough to drop the mustachioed head and caused me to fall back in my crimson throne of bodies. The head rolled and fell into one of the blood pools, and I swore under my breath. I clutched my head, my vision going black at the edges. Yes, this was a much stronger attack than previous ones. Was he really prepared to sacrifice his fragile sanity to return to this world, as it is now?
While I had my little fit, Sonic EXE dismissed our servants and ordered the prisoner back to his cell with a slash from his bloodied whip. Once the room was clear, he turned to me.
"I insist you let me deal with him," Sonic EXE hissed. "You must face that you cannot handle him forever."
I didn't answer right away. With the Chaos Emeralds returning to the world, my counterpart was struggling to siphon off their energy, despite how far away they were from our palace, and use the light to fight my hold on him. It was true, ever since we captured his pink friend, he'd been determined to beat my control, and such was the nature of the blue hedgehog. I looked at Sonic EXE, my head pounding.
"What do you plan to do?" I asked.
"Simply take his light," Sonic EXE said with a wide grin that split his face and revealed sharpened teeth, dripping with blood, "to debilitate him. You will not be affected, being pure darkness yourself. Only he, if he ever returns to sanity, will be thoroughly affected."
"Do it," I snapped. "I'm sick of him fighting me."
"All I need is a bit of your blood, and I can make contact with him," Sonic EXE persuaded.
I sighed and opened my palm to him. He took out a rusty knife and cut my palm open. I didn't wince. My black blood stained my glove, pooling in my hand. Sonic EXE thrust a chalice beneath my hand and poured my blood into it. Once he got a good amount, he sat back and tipped the contents into his oversized mouth, the blood dribbling down his front. I watched him with mild interest, wondering how this demon worked. He sighed and slammed the chalice down, then put his hand on my head. He hissed something in a demonic language I didn't understand, and I felt a rushing sensation as well as lightheadedness, and Sonic EXE entered my mind.
((Now onto Sonic's POV.))
I had witnessed my arch enemy's death.
Maybe I should be happy about that. Instead, I was angry. I wanted to be the one to defeat him. I didn't want him dead; I just wanted him in a place where he couldn't hurt anyone. But Dark had taken things into his own hands. I pushed hard against the walls of my mind, trying to break through to reality, to get back to my life. I could feel those walls starting to give, but ever so slightly, so I pushed harder. The white forest behind me trembled from my effort, but I had learned to ignore it. I would get back no matter what the cost.
Suddenly there was a bolt of forked black lightning from the white sky. I turned around, and saw myself—no, it wasn't me. Clawed fingers, black sclera and crimson eyes, a wide mouth that stretched across his muzzle, his teeth sharpened to a mouthful of fangs, and blood dripping from his teeth and eyes—this was Sonic EXE. He grinned at me grotesquely. I narrowed my eyes at him.
"How did you get in here?" I asked.
"I have my ways," Sonic EXE said in a grating, sarcastic voice. He gestured me closer. "Come here."
Instead, I took a step back.
Sonic EXE frowned, and in an instant, he was in front of me, and his hand wrapped around my throat, lifting me up. His claws dug into my skin, and though I couldn't bleed here, it still hurt. I gasped and grasped at his hand, trying to pry it away from my throat. The forest shook as if in an earthquake.
"It would be wise to do what I say," he says in a deadly tone. "I can do much more to you here than I could if you were, shall we say, completely sane."
I glared at him and spit in his face.
Sonic EXE cringed, and then he squeezed his hand tighter around my airway. I choked and struggled to get a breath of air, my lungs burning. He lifted me off the ground, even though we were the same size and weight; he seemed to be surprisingly strong.
"I know…why you're here!" I choked out in a strangled voice. "I'm not going to let you…" he squeezed tighter, and my voice became barely a whisper, "contaminate my mind!"
"Your mind is already tainted, my friend," Sonic EXE hissed, throwing me down on the ground. I took a large, wheezing gasp of air, and it burned my airway, yet it was a relief. The forest was quaking dangerously now, and wisps of dark smoke rose from the ground to the sky, slowly turning it black. I can't take any more damage.
Sonic EXE forced me to roll over and he pinned me down, his claws digging into my wrists. I tried to get my feet under him so I could kick him off, but he kneeled on my legs, and at that moment, he seemed impossibly heavy, preventing movement. He grinned at me.
"Do you know how I'm going to do this?" he asked with sick amusement.
"Go to Hell," I growled.
"Kid, I'm already there!" he laughed, and then he spit on my chest. His saliva was black, and burned like acid. I cried out as it seeped into my chest. A shock went through my body, and then my head seared with pain, and I couldn't help but scream.
"Hurts, doesn't it?" Sonic EXE giggled madly. "Doesn't that darkness feel good?"
The trees were withering into black ooze, and dark smoke shot from the ground in waves, and the sky turned black. Dead, crimson, stick-like trees replaced the tall, thick, black ones that had been here before, turning my mind into a black and blood wasteland. Sonic EXE released me and stood over me.
"You can't escape now," he said. I curled up, clutching my head, which felt like it was on fire. Sonic EXE spat to the side, and then disappeared the same way he had arrived. His saliva on the ground sizzled and evaporated, and then it was gone.
((The end! This explains why Sonic was never able to fight back, and why Dark was still alive after he and Shadow fought. I felt like such an evil genius while writing this. XD It's fun to torture your favorite characters.
Do you want to see more chapters like this? Leave a review with some sort of plot hole that needs to be filled or a prologue/epilogue that needs to be written. Or maybe you want to see an event in another character's point of view, sort of like this one. If I don't get any suggestions, I won't add any more bonus chapters, so I really need your help on this. Thanks for sticking around!))
