"Dance, James. Dance." Clint urged his year and a half old nephew as they 'danced' in the middle of the living room.

James just giggled as he clapped his hands and stamped his feet. The archer had taken it upon himself to teach his godson how to dance in time for the New Year's party that Tony was hosting that night.

He even got James dressed in little black and white converse shoes, comfortable black sweatpants and a little t-shirt that looked like a tuxedo.

"Clint, what are you teaching my baby?" Natasha asked with a smirk on her face.

"How to shake what his momma gave him." Clint answered.

"Just don't teach him that dance that you and Tony did at my wedding." Natasha said.

"I promise nothing." Clint replied before going back to dancing with James.

Natasha lightly chuckled as she made her way to the kitchen where she spotted her husband staring at a kettle on the stove.

"Did you see what Clint is teaching James?" she asked.

"Dancing? Yeah, I saw it." Steve answered with a smile. "James seems to like it. Although maybe he just likes having someone paying attention to him and playing with him. I question what Clint dressed him in though."

Natasha smiled.

She was amazed that another year was upon them and in a few months her son would be two years old. It all seemed to go by so fast. There were times that Natasha felt that she just had James.

But no. Her precious son is a year and a half old and dancing in the living room with his godfather while wearing a little tuxedo shirt.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Steve asked as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

"Time is going by so fast." she answered.

"I think I know what that's like." Steve said with a smirk.

"Really though. I feel like I just gave birth to James and now he's almost two." Natasha said. "Time needs to slow down a little so James can stay my baby a little longer."

"Nat," Steve said. "James will always be our baby. No matter what age he is. Yeah, I agree that time since he has been born has gone by quickly and I wouldn't mind it slowed down a little as well, but the best that we can do is savor every moment and take pictures like no tomorrow."

The kettle began to whistle and the soldier made three mugs of hot chocolate and made some in a sippy cup for James.

The two Avengers made their way to the living room where James quickly broke away from his dancing and hurried over to his parent's with his arms raised.

"He's gonna be an awesome dancer. Just so you know." Clint said and accepted a mug from Natasha.

"Better be the right kind of dancing you're teaching him." the spy replied.

Steve smiled as he placed James on the sofa and gave him the sippy cup of hot chocolate. The toddler drank the beverage like no tomororw.

"You gonna let the squirt stay up to ring in the New Year?" Clint asked.

"We'll probably let him sleep for a few hours and then wake him up in time for the celebration." Natasha answered. "He gets as cranky as you when you don't get enough sleep."

"No argument." Clint said.

Natasha made well on that plan. She and Steve had managed to get James to sleep with the help of the hot chocolate and milk. He fell asleep around eight, made sure that his room was sound proof so he wouldn't wake from all the music and, when it was half an hour to midnight, woke him and brought him to the others.

"Oh, he looks adorable." Pepper said as Clint placed a party hat on the young red head.

"My fashion taste, of course." the archer stated.

"I can't wait to see how you dress your own children." Pepper said.

"Ahem!" Clint faked coughed. "Excuse me."

The two women laughed at their friend and Thor came over to them with a small cupcake in his hand.

"Hello little one." he greeted James and handed him the treat, to which James instantly began to try to eat. Only succeeding in getting his cheeks covered in chocolate frosting for a tiny bite.

"Thanks Thor. You meant well but now he's going to be up for hours."

"I'm sorry. I just..."

"Spoil him mindlessly?"

"Yes." the thunder god answered honestly.

Natasha smiled and walked over to Steve who was speaking with Tony.

"Ah! He's looking as handsome as his Uncle Tony." the inventor exclaimed.

"That's because he looks like his father." Natasha said.

"Yeah, I guess."

"One minute left!" someone yelled.

"Where'd he get the cupcake?!" Steve asked seeing his son slowly eat his treat.

"Thor." Natasha answered.

"Well, they love James. That's what matters." Steve answered.

"Thirty seconds!"

"Heres to another New Year with my two favorite men." Natasha said with a smile.

"And I'm really looking forward to another year with my perfect girl and my perfect son." Steve said.

"James, want to say anything?" Natasha teased.

The toddler's reply was to touch his mother's cheek with his cupcake that ended up in all three laughing.

"Five...Four...Three...Two...One...HAPPY NEW YEAR!"

Steve and Natasha shared a loving kiss and then showered James with kisses.

The child lavished in the attention from his parent's and then from Pepper and his uncles.

"This is going to be another great year." Steve declared.
