In the emerald city.

Glinda had returned to the chambers after an hour of meditating in her room. Mr. Teak had now calmed down considerably and was sitting silently polishing his glasses. Ellie and Aislynn were sitting on the throne. Ellie was reading a book over Aislynn's shoulder and they seemed pretty comfortable sitting there. Glinda began to wonder when Alex and Locasta would be returning. They weren't visible in the crystal ball which was understandable since they were in a place the jester was using. But Glinda began to wonder whether or not it was a good idea to have let them go with the jester in the first place. Sure Alex had his sword and Locasta had her wand, but the jester could easily defend himself since Locasta's wand wouldn't work in Yoop castle. Since it had been an hour now since they had left and she was beginning to get worried.

"Glinda?" Mr. Teak asked looking up from his work.

"Yes, Mr. Teak?" Glinda asked curiously.

"Shouldn't they have been back by now?" He asked looking at his watch.

"I would have thought so, unless." Glinda said trailing off.

"Unless, what?" Mr. Teak asked sternly

"Unless they've walked themselves into my trap." The jester said as he appeared in the room.

Glinda turned to face the jester and pointed her own wand in his direction anger and resentment now shown on her face. The snowflake star tip was now glowing an unusual flaming orange color. Sparks of the same color were now falling from the wand.

"Oh somebody is angry." The jester said teasingly as he took out his own wand.

"Shut up, where are they!?" Glinda asked furiously.

"Oh, they're fine, they're trapped with Dorothy." He said chuckling.

Glinda tightened her grasp on her wand. The sparks began to get larger and bounce off the floor as they fell out of the wand. Ellie got up and drew her own sword and Aislynn stood behind her having no way to defend herself at the time being.

"Go back, and get them!" Glinda said out of anger.

"Let me think about that for a moment, ah, no!" He said cackling.

"You, you wicked man, you're nothing but a bully" Aislynn said getting out from behind Ellie and approaching him.

"Thank you, now, why don't you go off to your little mirror, with your little bottle of potion and tell the gales and the boy's family that you let your cousin and their son into a trap, I'm sure his father will have a good laugh about that." The jester said chuckling

Glinda looked at him with fire in her eyes that Ellie had not seen before. Mr. Teak however, since the jester had failed to notice whom he had his back to at the moment, got up and walked over to him. He pocketed his glassed and stood behind the jester.

"Good morning, pleasure to see you again." Mr. Teak said trying to sound kind yet sarcastic.

"And good morning to you sir." The jester said turning around to face Mr. Teak.

As the jester did this however he immediately felt Mr. Teak's fist make contact with his jaw. The jester spun on the spot and fell to the ground. The wand still clenched tightly in one hand he aimed it at Mr. Teak ready to cast a spell. He winced in pain as he tried to open his mouth to talk. Mr. Teak stood there triumphant, having done his job. It was evident that Mr. Teak had indeed done damage to the jester and had indeed intended to do it. The jester looked at him angrily. He then flicked his wand and vanished. Mr. Teak smiled and dusted his hands off to signify a job well done.

"Well that'll take care of him for a while." He said in an arrogant tone.

Ellie, Aislynn and Glinda were now looking at the man. Their mouths hanging open in surprise. Had Mr. Teak done that because he cared? They didn't know, and at this point, they weren't going to question it.

"Now, if you all are done standing there like a sack of potatoes please send me home." Mr. Teak said as scarecrow, tin man, Terrance and Alyssa ran into the room.

Glinda nodded and waved her wand in Mr. Teak's direction. After he had vanished Glinda turned to face the others.

"Glinda? Where's Locasta? She should be here she wasn't in her room, where is she?" Alyssa asked worriedly.

It took Glinda a minute to explain what had happened. Terrance wasn't too thrilled at this but he didn't seem too angry since he still had Alyssa. Scarecrow was worried for Aislynn, Glinda said she had stood up to the jester and didn't back down at his threatening manner. Tin man set his axe down and the emotions of worriedness and sadness went through him as he listened to the story.

"Sis, you were looking at him like you were about ready to destroy him on the spot, that's unlike you." Ellie said worried.

Glinda looked at her sister and sighed. She then pushed passed everyone else and walked out of the chambers.

Meanwhile at the jester's hideout.

It took him a few minutes but the jester did eventually find a spell to use to set his jaw back into place. Once he had used it he waved his wand over the crystal ball and immediately the scene of the gale farmhouse appeared in it.

"What in Lord's name made you think that was a good idea!" came the angry voice of Mrs. Teak.

"He was taunting, he didn't seem to know I was there till I greeted him, so punching him the jaw was the best solution I could think of to shut him up." came Mr. Teaks reply.

"Ah yes, and I shall not forget this, I will get revenge in some way, because in doing that, it shows that you, of all people, care about your son a little." The jester said into the crystal ball.

He smiled wickedly. He knew that none of them would mention this to Alex, mostly because he would never let his father live it down. Secondly because they seemed way too shocked to even think about it. The jester chuckled and then winced in pain as his jaw was still a bit sore. He would definitely never forget this.

Later back in Yoop castle.

It took Alex and Locasta an hour or so to get used to being around the giants. Emma had brought Dorothy, Alex and Locasta to her room where Dorothy properly introduced them. Dorothy was still a bit miffed that Alex had even decided to try and strike a bargain with the jester and she made it known by glaring daggers at him every few minutes. Alex began to regret the decision that threw him and Locasta into this mess. Mr. Yoop didn't seem too happy about having Dorothy gale as prisoner in the castle. He was worried about what the jester might do to them since he had heard from passersby about the actions of the jester and feared the man's power. He, unlike his wife and child, did not have some limited power of magic that they had never explained to him. He had changed into a clean and less tattered outfit as well as gave himself a quick shave before he joined his daughter in her room. he had Emma had set Dorothy, Alex and Locasta down in the doll house while she conversed with her father and told him about all the things she had done in his absence. Dorothy sat on the floor with her back against the wall. Alex and Locasta were sitting in small wooden chairs that Emma had moved into the room for them to sit on. After a while of listening to the two chat Dorothy sighed and got up. She then walked over to Alex and kissed him on the cheek.

"I thought you were mad at me?" Alex asked blushing a bit.

"I am, but it's hard to stay mad at someone who's intentions were good." Dorothy said wrapping her arms around him.

"But I got Locasta trapped with us that brings down the emerald city's defenses by one sorceress." Alex said.

"This is true, but I don't think the jester is going to attack the emerald city, he has no reason to, in the end Dorothy is still really the only thing standing in his way." Locasta said.

"Thanks for reminding us Locasta." Dorothy said rolling her eyes.

"Sorry, but in the end it's still the truth." Locasta said.

"Yes, I know, but it makes me feel sick to my stomach to think about it, I mean when you think about it, if I had never killed the witch of the west the broomstick would never become available to the jester making him able to launch his first attack here in Oz, if I hadn't claimed the scepter as my own he wouldn't have gone after his other sister's wand, and had I killed him instead of allowing him to escape last time he wouldn't have us in this mess, in the end it's my fault that all of this has happened." Dorothy said as tears formed in her eyes.

Both Alex and Locasta stared at Dorothy in silence. Alex looked at Dorothy sympathetically and got up, taking her in his arms. Locasta at this point had nothing to say. She couldn't be encouraging and tell her it isn't entirely her fault. The only death she caused that wasn't her fault was that of the witch of the east. Sure the death of the witch of the west was an accident and could be passed off as one but she had heard the stories, she knew that Dorothy wouldn't have any other choice but eventually bring the witch's demise. The girl's arrival in Oz was indeed what started it all.

"Well, tell me I'm wrong! Go on because I really need some encouragement." Dorothy said.

"Dorothy…" Alex and Locasta said both trailing off.

Dorothy stared at both of them. She then sighed in frustration.

"Great, the one time you can't do it." Dorothy said pushing Alex away and walking back over to her little spot she had been sitting in earlier and began crying.

"Dorothy, please, don't cry." Emma said getting up and walking over.

"I'm sorry Emma, it's just that, oh never mind." Dorothy said hugging her knees to her chest.

"Dorothy, I'm sorry this had to work out this way, if I could I would let you go but I'm afraid of what the jester will do to my family." Mr. Yoop said walking over as well.

"It's okay, it's not your fault." Dorothy said.

"Father, please leave, I want to talk to Dorothy and her friends." Emma said.

"Okay dear, lunch will be soon I assume so don't take too long." He said walking out of the room, the ground trembling in his wake.

Once he was gone Emma knelt down so she could look into the room.

"Dorothy, you can't blame yourself for everything that you've done, you're the most famous girl in Oz." Emma said.

"I know, but in the end it's still my actions that have made all this happen." Dorothy said.

"Dorothy, you're famous not just for vanquishing evil but for showing kindness, everyone knows that you care about all your friends." Emma said.

Dorothy looked at Emma and smiled.

"At least people know me for something better than killing witches." Dorothy said.

"Well you became famous for being the girl who kills wicked witches but everyone knows how much you care about your friends." Emma said smiling.

Dorothy chuckled and got up. She walked over to the scepter and picked it up. It was still dark, she looked at the orb and sighed.

"To think, it was this and the slippers that started all of this." Dorothy said.

"Well everyone knows the stories." Locasta said.

"Thanks." Dorothy said rolling her eyes.

"Emma! Grab your friends and get washed up, it's almost time for lunch!" Came Mrs. Yoop's voice.

"Okay mother!" Emma said.

Emma sighed and placed her hand out for Dorothy and her friends to climb on. As soon as they had done this Emma walked out of the room with them and to the bathroom.

Meanwhile back in the city.

Scarecrow was sitting on the bench in the center of the gardens with the china princess and Marshall Mallow. The princess had taken to putting together a wreath of flowers while the scarecrow sat there staring blankly at the clear sky.

"So, how does the king of Oz feel this morning?" the China princess asked as her husband handed her some more flowers.

"What? Oh, I'm fine." Scarecrow said sighing.

"sure." The princess said smiling.

"Ace stood up to the jester earlier." Scarecrow said sternly.

"What?" the both Marshal mallow and the China princess asked in unison.

"I know, and hearing that, that she tried to stand up to him knowing what she was risking." The scarecrow said.

"I see." The china princess said smiling.

"I'm sure you do." The scarecrow said rolling his eyes.

However in Glinda's room things were slightly worse. Glinda was now blaming herself for allowing the Alex and Locasta to even go with the jester. They had walked themselves into a trap and Glinda knew she could have prevented it. She felt anger and resentment towards the jester. Anger she hadn't felt in the past. She came up with a plan in her head, the next time she saw the jester, and it would be between her and him. She knew she couldn't stop him, but she could very well postpone his rise to power.

Well Glinda has gotten a little hot in the head now that family is involved. This could be rather amusing.

A/N there are reviewers who have asked why it takes me so long to upload chapters. It doesn't offend me at all to be asked this because people are allowed to be curious. But it's because I have school, i'm a highschool student with a life outside of fanfiction. I write in my free time, like many Fanfiction writers. I try to get a new chapter out every couple of days or so unlike my other fanfictions where I tried to get a chapter out every day and every other day. I hope I'm not coming off too strong with this. And I apologize if it sounds rude. But it's why it takes so long to get a chapter out. My old stories and in fact some of the older chapters have grammatical errors that I have to fix at some point. well anyways I've rambled on long enough see you in the next chapter.
