Meanwhile at the jester's hideout.
The jester was still watching the scene in the gale farmhouse. It had mostly been them sitting there watching the triplets or watching Annabella play with the cats. When he got bored with this he waved the wand over the crystal ball and switched it to the view of the emerald city. He looked around for people to spy on. Glinda was sitting in her room sulking, her sister and that girl that was always with them were reading, and Alyssa and her boyfriend seemed to be devising a plan to get to Yoop castle. He began to wonder if he could listen in on anyone in the city or if he would have to go to Yoop castle and strike up a conversation with Dorothy and her friends. It was then that he found the scarecrow chatting with the porcelain princess and her marshmallow husband.
"Scarecrow, you mustn't worry about Aislynn too much, you have a city and a land to rule over." Came the voice of the china princess.
"I know, I know, you keep telling me this since last night, but I love her, I care about her." came the voice of the scarecrow.
"Your majesty, why don't you tell her then?" Marshall Mallow asked curiously.
"Because, I want to know if she has the same feelings, and believe me if your wife hadn't walked in I would have had to come up with some other excuse as to why I was staring at her." scarecrow replied.
The jester chuckled and waved his wand over the crystal causing it to go dark. He then sat down on a nearby chair and smiled.
"So, the straw man is in love? With that girl who complimented me in the throne room? Now that's something I can use to my advantage." He said cackling loudly.
Later in Yoop castle.
After a lunch of sandwiches Emma brought Dorothy, Alex and Locasta back to her room. Locasta was curious about the magic that Mrs. Yoop and her daughter had. She was going to question it but Dorothy had advised against. Dorothy was standing completely still on Emma's desk as she sketched her again. When she was done she moved the magnifying glass and allowed Alex and Locasta to see the picture.
"Wow Dorothy, she's just as good as you." Alex said.
"Yes, yes I would like to think so." Dorothy said leaning against a bottle of ink that Emma had taken out.
"I like it." Locasta said.
"I'm honored you do." Emma said placing out her hand for Dorothy Alex and Locasta to climb on.
After they were in her hand she brought them over to the dollhouse and set them down. Dorothy sighed and walked over to the bed and sat down. Alex joined her and wrapped an arm around her shoulder. Dorothy sighed and rested her head on his shoulder.
"What is it like to be in love?" Emma asked curiously.
Dorothy looked at Emma then at Alex. They both shared an odd glance or a moment and shrugged.
"It's rather hard to explain Emma." Alex said as Dorothy opened her mouth to speak,
Dorothy nodded in agreement. Emma sighed and knelt down in front of the dollhouse. She knew Alex and Locasta were trapped here by the jester. She felt sorry for them. She had never seen the outside world. But she would never be allowed outside if she just asked her parents. But her mother could also read her thoughts so she would not be able even think of trying to leave without being found out. She sat there and watched her little playmates.
Meanwhile in Kansas.
Mr. Teak was sitting in the living room of gale farmhouse with Annabella napping on the couch next to him. Em was making dinner while henry was out at the barn. The triplets were playing with their kittens in the playpen while Eve was sitting in the corner with Toto and pockets. Mrs. Teak had run home to get some things Em could use with dinner. Em was making soup tonight and he could smell it from his seat on the couch. He sat back and watched the triplets in the play pen just as Annabella woke up.
"Daddy?" Annabella asked rubbing her eyes.
"Yes sweetie?" Mr. Teak asked curiously.
"Will Alex be alright?" Annabella asked curiously.
"I'm sure he will dear, he's always fine when he's with Dorothy." He said rolling his eyes.
"True." Annabella said giggling a bit.
Mr. Teak looked down at his daughter and smiled. He then looked back at the triplets.
Meanwhile somewhere else in Oz
Glinda had left the city without anyone noticing her. Now back at her own castle in the north. She was surrounded by her home. She had not been here in a very long time. She was surprised to find that the castle was still well looked after. Her servant girls had surprisingly stayed loyal to her commands. She regretted not telling Ellie she was leaving. Glinda wanted to find Yoop castle and she wanted to find it on her own. She had every single one of her maps of her cousin's domain on her desk. She knew most of the civilized region of the south by heart. She also knew of several smaller villages in the domain. She plotted where the mountains of the south were and the one that Mr. Yoop had most likely been kept prisoner in was the largest of the bunch. So large it didn't even need a name. Just "the mountains." And Glinda gathered Yoop castle would be somewhere near it if they were able to cart Mr. Yoop off without him somehow escaping the grasp of his captors. She made a plan to go out to the south and look around. She knew Ellie would eventually close her eyes and look in on her but would unable to go after her. At least she had left a note explaining what she was doing. Whether or not anyone would notice, she wouldn't know.
Meanwhile back in the emerald city
Indeed no one had even noticed Glinda had left the city. There would be days where she would be doing research in her room while Dorothy was trapped or not around. So everyone just figured she was off researching something or another. Ellie however was slightly worried at dinner. She was uneasy and she didn't know why. As she ate dinner in the banquet hall with the others she began to feel sick to her stomach. She eventually excused herself and went for a walk. She figured at this point it was just the fact that she was tired. And indeed she was. She had not gotten any sleep last night. And thinking about the Giants made her feel slightly worse. She walked into her room and over to her bed. She closed her eyes and saw the maps and papers that Glinda was looking at and she sighed knowing her sister was doing research. She then dropped down on her bed and shut her eyes tighter. And eventually she was asleep.
