I know, I know, I'm an absolutely terrible person. I just realized I haven't updated in almost 3 months- time has gotten away from me. I've been super busy with school and sports (and now finals), but I somehow managed to scrounge up this little bit for you.

So much has happened in the Divergent world and I'm a little slow on commenting on it, but TRAILER! I totally freaked out. Also ALLEGIANT. I was one of those people up at midnight waiting... Not going to lie. That's also part of the reason for my long absence, I had to comprehend the end of my favorite series...

Disclaimer: Veronica Roth no longer has to take finals, sadly, I do...

Amar starts talking, "Ok, initiates! You are now here to figure out what the third part of your initiation is. Because this is a new format, we've had to create a third stage. The third stage will be working on real life combat. We have built different cityscapes in Dauntless, each "level" will have different challenges that you must face and pass to move on. You will be timed and graded on your skill and efficiency. In some levels you will work in groups, some by yourself and some, you will be facing off with each other. Sound good?"

We all nod, still processing what Amar has just said.

"Before we start this new stage, I'm going to post the rankings just so you get a feeling for where you stand. Four people will also be cut tonight between both the Dauntless born and yourselves. Because Al dropped out, that leaves three. There is one of you leaving tonight."

Amar turns around the board at his feet:

Four

Tris

Eric

Peter

Will

Christina

Drew

Molly

Both Four and I turn out heads to look at Eric and Peter's reaction. They look mad, but I hope they've accepted the fact that we're better than them. Not to sound self-centered, but the rankings have proved it's true.

Amar watches the exchange between us and then turns to Eric and Peter, giving them a silent warning.

Molly is stunned, I don't think she ever thought she could become factionless. Her face has turned white and she's starting to panic.

"We will start this new stage tomorrow, so I suggest you get some rest because it won't be easy." Amar makes a motioning gesture with his hands to get Molly to come with him. She follows with shaking steps. I don't even know how she moves.

The door closes behind the two of them and the rest of us stand in shocked silence. Maybe we didn't like everyone, but to have two people gone in one day was like a slap in the face. This whole process just got real.

Everyone heads off to bed quietly. We're still processing what Amar had told us, and the events of the day.

It takes me awhile to fall asleep, I'm thinking of what we might have to face tomorrow and who. I hope that I'm with Four, we fight well together and I think we could be successful as a team. I hate to say it as I'm not much of a highly emotional person, but I think of Tobias too. I think of his strengths and his weaknesses that make him into the amazing person he is. With thoughts of us kicking Eric and Peter in the next stage, I drift off with a smile gracing my face.

When I wake up in the morning, I hop out of bed and throw on some comfortable clothes. After I brush my teeth and put my hair up, I come out of the bathroom and see that everyone else is just getting up.

I hop over to Christina's bed and sit down, bouncing a little to get her awake. "C'mon Christina! Rise and shine! Time for a brand new day of initiation!"

"Who gave you the perky pill?" Christina grumbles with her face smashed into a pillow?

"Seriously, Tris, who are you?" Will says this as he sits up, yawns and rubs the sleep out of his eyes.

"Will you guys just shut- up already! I'm trying to get a few more minutes of precious sleep here." Eric grumbles from under his covers.

"I always wondered how Eric looked so good, it must be from his beauty sleep every night." Four says, finally joining the conversation.

"Ha ha ha." Eric replies, in a completely non-amused tone.

"Seriously though. Shut it." Peter says with an air of finality.

During this whole conversation, I don't think Drew even moved an inch, must be a heavy sleeper.

"Will someone please get up and have breakfast with me?" I ask, directing it towards my group of friends.

Four appears behind me. "I'm ready."

"Perfect." I turn to Christina and Will. "We'll see you guys there."

They both nod tiredly as we turn to go. On the way out the door, I can't help but pull off Eric, Peter and Drew's comforters. They needed to get up anyway.

Four and I laugh our way out the door. It feels good to laugh again, I think we all needed the friendly banter this morning; it has been getting really tense and stressful lately. I think we all need to remember that we're only 16 years old and sometimes just need to decompress.

Four and I make our way to breakfast, holding hands for a change, and just enjoying the morning. We crack jokes and I get to see a lighter side of Tobias. Not Four, the Dauntless prodigy, not Tobias, the boy beaten by his father, but someone else entirely.

I will be back soon with more, I promise this time... Winter break in 4 days... But who's counting?
