Chapter 432

.

During the long walk a thought occurred to Eve. In her four months with Adam she'd never been able to contact Cox or any of her group. There was no evidence they'd been accepted. Would Eve be admitted? Could she even make it, before frostbite set in? The smart-phone could guide her in the darkness. The rumor was that ELE had knocked Earth out of her orbit so much that the sun no longer rose in the east and set in the west. It merely rose a little in the north and then set back down again. But that was academic. Eve contacted dr Weber.

.

Weber: Hey. Hope's in childcare right now.

Eve: I guess they told you, my shelter's been destroyed.

Weber; I know. I'm sorry.

Eve: I was hoping to say goodbye to the baby. In case I don't make it to this Ark.

Weber: When she's older, I'll tell her about you. I'll give her the letter.

Eve: Thank you. What will you tell her?

Weber: That you built an Ark, and you loved her more than anything. The rest, I'll figure out when the time comes.

Eve: That's all I could ask. Thank you for everything.

Weber: Thank you for giving me Hope. Good luck.
