Dorothy had spent most of the rest of the day just lying there. Elena did try and engage conversation but Dorothy didn't really want to talk. It wasn't until around four in the afternoon that she actually said anything to her.

"Elena?" Dorothy asked curiously.

"Yea?" Elena said looking up from her seat.

"Have the others been worried about me?" Dorothy asked curiously.

"Dorothy we always worry about you, but yes, when we were informed that you were here we all got worried, and when you didn't wake up within the first few days everyone was extremely worried." Elena replied.

"Do you have any potion bottles on you?" Dorothy asked curiously.

"I have one but are you sure you want them to see you like this?" Elena asked curiously and worriedly.

"If they really care about me it won't matter to them how I look, just so long as I'm alright." Dorothy said picking up the hand mirror.

Elena smiled and went into her bag. She then pulled out a small potion bottle and tossed it Dorothy. It landed in her lap where she set down the hand mirror and picked up the potion bottle. She uncorked it with her teeth and dripped the contents onto the mirror. After a few seconds it began rippling and soon the image of the chambers appeared in the mirror. She saw the scarecrow and the china princess chatting with each by the throne. Dorothy did a fake cough which caused them both to jump. The china princess turned and gasped. She immediately grabbed scarecrows arm and turned him around running over to the mirror.

"Dorothy!? Thank goodness you're alright." The china princess said

"Yea, kiddo we were all worried about you." Scarecrow said.

"Thanks you two, where are the others?" Dorothy asked curiously.

Scarecrow smiled and then ran out of the room.

"You look great for someone who fell off a fountain." The china princess said as the others began to crowd into the room and run over to the mirror.

Immediately Dorothy found herself being swamped with questions from all of her friends before the china princess whistled rather loudly.

"For Oz sake can you guys be quiet? She's been asleep for nearly two weeks don't overwhelm the girl." The princess said

"Right now one at a time before the potion wears off." Dorothy said.

"Nice scars." Came Alyssa's voice.

"Thanks Alyssa but they aren't scars yet." Dorothy said.

"You know if worse comes to worse I've got potion bottles here which will maintain the contact." Came Locasta's voice.

"That would be nice, Alex was forced to leave since he's going to school tomorrow." Dorothy said.

"How are you feeling?" Alison and tin man asked in unison

"Rather like a cat at the moment, except not as helpless as last time." Dorothy said meowing softly.

"Don't worry, it's only temporary." Alison said as Locasta splashed some more potion on the mirror on their side.

"Yea, temporary as in until I completely recover and can get the scepter and the slippers back." Dorothy said rolling her eyes.

"Well, yea, but the magical energy, you know, I'm not even going to try." Alison said as everyone glared at her.

"Dorothy, promise us you'll never do that again." Locasta said.

"I already got this speech from your cousins." Dorothy said.

"Good, they are ahead of things as always." Locasta said.

"Yea." Dorothy said purring slightly.

"Hey kid, how does it feel? They eye that is." The lion asked curiously.

"It's a bit sore, but it's better than the broken arm and leg." Dorothy said turning the mirror to her arm and to her leg before bring it back to her face.

"Does it hurt?" They all asked curiously.

"It stings a bit whenever I try to move them so I'm trying to get used to keeping them still." Dorothy replied.

"Dorothy?" came Emma's voice as she pushed her way passed everyone.

"Emma, how have you been?" Dorothy asked curiously

"I've been alright, I'm glad you're alright." Emma said excitedly.

"How's the thawing effort been going? I've heard you've helped a bit." Dorothy said.

"I have, I've collected large pieces of ice with lion." Emma said happily.

"I'm proud of you." Dorothy said purring.

"Thanks." Emma said chuckling

"I'm serious." Dorothy said meowing a bit making everyone chuckle.

The china princess opened her mouth to say something but Dorothy began yawning. She chuckled and looked at the time.

"Dorothy, why don't take a nap, we can wait to talk to you again, maybe later if possible, or even when you are out of the hospital." The china princess said.

"Dorothy, that is actually a good suggestion, I'll wake you up in an hour or so." Elena said as they watched everyone in the mirror nod in agreement.

"So are you staying the night sis?" Alyssa asked curiously.

"Glinda is having me stay tonight since Alex cant." Elena said to her sister.

"Okay, I'll talk to you later." Alyssa said.

"Dorothy, we'll talk to you later, sleep well." The china princess said.

Dorothy smiled and chuckled. She then watched as the mirror began to ripple and returned to normal. Dorothy then sighed and laid back on the hospital bed. She then closed her eyes and drifted off sleep. Elena sighed and sat down in a nearby chair.

"That's right, get as much rest as you have too, you need your strength." She whispered as she ran a hand through Dorothy's hair.

Dorothy purred in her sleep and was soon breathing calmly and gently. Elena then sat back and waited. She would indeed wake Dorothy when the hour was up but she felt that Dorothy might need more of a power nap than that. Now that she was able to stay awake Elena had to monitor Dorothy's condition until the morning.

Meanwhile back at the gale farmhouse.

"So you talked with her then?" Glinda asked as her cousin appeared in the mirror.

"Yep, what's wrong with Toto?" Locasta asked as she saw Glinda holding Toto in her arms.

"Oh he's a bit upset that he couldn't stay with Dorothy, I didn't know dogs were able to cry." Glinda said as a tear dripped down Toto's nose.

"Neither did I, but I guess he's really worried about his mistress, this is technically the longest she's ever been separated from him and I would be upset to if I were him." Locasta said.

"At least she's able to be awake now." Aislynn said.

"Mr. Teak just called he picked up Alex, they are both at the shop now." Em said.

"That's nice, Annabella and I will have to leave soon then, the work day will be over soon." Mrs. Teak said.

"And you'll have to make dinner, can I help?" Annabella asked curiously.

"Sure dear." Mrs. Teak said picking up her daughter.

"Yay!" Annabella said kissing her mother on the cheek.

"Okay, but we aren't leaving yet, maybe ten more minutes and we'll go home to start dinner." Mrs. Teak said.

"Mrs. Gale thank you for the lunch, I must be going to my parents, it's been a while since I talked to him." Glinda said.

"Dad's fine, he's still working at the school, I think he's running out crazy combinations of clothes to wear." Ellie said.

"Very low chance dear, dad has been wearing crazy clothing for years he'll always find something." Glinda said, "Now tell me are you staying here or are you coming with me?" she added curiously.

"I think I'm going to stay here, keep ace company." Ellie said.

"Well then, see you tomorrow." Glinda said setting down Toto and vanishing just as the mirror faded

Later back at the hospital.

Elena did wake Dorothy up an hour later. Which led to Dorothy scarfing down some more cans of tuna and sardines.

"Elena, tell me why I'm so hungry." Dorothy said looking at her.

"It's an after affect, I'll explain later." Elena said.

"You guys are always saying that." Dorothy said.

"Well, it's more of something Alison could explain, maybe Glinda but Alison told me about most of this" Elena said.

"What kind of sorcery is she studying?" Dorothy asked curiously.

"A bunch of types, healing, transformations, and some things that Glinda doesn't like to deal with." Elena said.

"Ah." Dorothy said through a full mouth.

"Dorothy, calm down with the food or you'll choke." Elena said.

"Sorry." Dorothy said putting down the can of sardines.

"It's alright, just be careful." Elena said.

"I'll try." Dorothy said.

"Dorothy, Alex is on the phone, what should I tell him?" Doctor Maxwell asked walking in.

"Since I can't get up, remind him that he promised to come over tomorrow, Actually Elena you go." Dorothy said.

Elena nodded and went out with Doctor Maxwell. Dorothy sighed and finished off the sardines before lying back and waiting for Elena to return. She couldn't wait for tomorrow.

Well then, Dorothy, are you ready for the next chapter.

Dorothy: Of course, but can I have a sandwich or something?
Me: How do you expect to eat that with only one hand?
Dorothy: very carefully.
Me: *sigh* Here, have a ham sandwich.
Dorothy: Thanks.
