Early the next morning Em and Glinda showed up at the hospital. Doctor Maxwell greeted them as Em checked Dorothy out of the hospital. Glinda went to Dorothy's room to find that she was surprisingly still asleep. Toto and Pockets however were wide awake and sitting on the wheelchair by the window watching the snow fall. Em and doctor Maxwell walked into the room shortly afterwards. Glinda waved her wand over Dorothy and she began glowing. Em picked up Toto and pockets and placed them inside the cardboard box before moving it into the wheelchair.

"She can't hear us, nor will she be able to move or wake up until I lift this spell, it's the only way I could find to transport her without causing her more harm." Glinda said sighing.

"Are we sending her to Emerald city or are we stopping by the house first?" Em asked curiously.

"Emerald city, scarecrow worked all night on a wheelchair type thing for Dorothy to use, Alex and Mr. teak only just fell asleep about an hour or two ago." Glinda said as her eyes flashed sapphire blue.

"At least Mr. Teak doesn't yell at Alex that much anymore, though he doesn't talk to his son that much anymore either." Em said as Glinda waved her wand over her causing her to vanish.

Glinda then smiled and took Dorothy's hand, she looked Doctor Maxwell and nodded. Glinda then waved her wand over herself and Dorothy and they were off.

About five minutes earlier in the emerald city.

It was now five minutes to five in the morning Scarecrow was now putting the finishing touches, or at least what he hoped, would be the finishing touches on the wheelchair. It looked like a normal wheelchair say for the large metal box on the back filled with gears, pulleys and such. Alex had helped him draw up the design for previous evening while Mr. Teak helped him put the chair together. The wheelchair was controlled by three small levers on the left armrest. Each corresponding to a certain control either being forward, left or right. Alex had tested out the chair before scarecrow started putting on the final touches in making it look presentable. He smiled at their work and then looked over to the corner of the room where Alex was slumped down against the wall next to his father. Both of them had fallen asleep hours ago and scarecrow had been working as quietly as possible.

"Well, that should do it." He whispered to himself wiping off his gloves.

He then chuckled and walked over to the boy and his father. He could tell that Mr. Teak was most definitely asleep but he wasn't sure if Alex was. He knelt down in front of the boy and snapped his fingers in Alex's face. When he did not stir scarecrow decided that Alex was either most definitely asleep, or he was just really good at not reacting. As he got up the clock struck five. It was then that he started hearing chatting in the chambers. He smiled and walked out of the work shop to find Glinda chatting softly with Em. He knew that Glinda had gone to get Em and Dorothy. But Dorothy was nowhere to be seen.

"Good morning ladies." Scarecrow said walking over to them.

"Good morning scarecrow." They both said in unison.

"Where's Dorothy?" Scarecrow asked curiously.

"I transported her to her bed room, she's still asleep." Glinda replied.

"Ah, well then, come see the work Alex. Mr. Teak and I have done." Scarecrow said leading them into the workshop.

As they walked in it was at that point that Alex got up and yawned and stretched.

"Man am I stiff." Alex said.

"Well you did just spend the last couple of hours sleeping against the wall." Scarecrow said.

"Fair enough, oh, good morning Glinda, good morning Mrs. Gale, is Dorothy here yet?" Alex asked curiously.

"She's asleep in her room." Em said.

"Ah, thanks." Alex said running out rather quickly.

When he got to Dorothy's room he found her resting peacefully in the bed. Her outfit had been changed from a hospital gown to her normal clothing. Toto and pockets were sitting on the foot of the bed watching Dorothy sleep. Alex smiled and over to her. When he reached her he placed a hand on her forehead. The bandage was finally removed completely revealing a large partially healed gash across her forehead. Dorothy groan and winced as her eyes slowly opened. She immediately pushed herself into a sitting position. It was then she realized she was no longer in the hospital but in her room in the emerald city. She said nothing she merely sat up and had Alex help her into the old wheelchair.

"We finished your new wheelchair earlier this morning." Alex said happily.

"Really?" Dorothy asked curiously as well as sounding surprised

"Dorothy, would I lie to you?" Alex asked chuckling.

"Possibly." Dorothy said teasingly.

"Well I tested it out myself and it works perfectly, runs smoothly as well, come on I'll take you to the chambers." Alex said pushing the wheelchair out of the room.

When they arrived at the chambers they found that Mr. Teak was now awake. He was chatting with Em, scarecrow, and Glinda. Both Dorothy and Alex did a fake cough which attracted their attention.

"Ah, good to see you're awake." Glinda said smiling.

"Thanks, Alex told me my new wheelchair is done." Dorothy replied.

"Yes it is." Scarecrow said wheeling it over.

Dorothy looked at it and smiled. She was relatively impressed by the handiwork. She had Alex helped her over to the chair. As soon as she was in it she found herself relatively comfortable. She tried out the mechanics and found that it controlled rather smoothly. She was surprised anyone could accomplish this in an evening. But this was the scarecrow we were talking about as well as Alex and Mr. Teak so she wasn't as surprised as any other person would be. She spent a few minutes doing laps around the room before turning back to them.

"Alex, hug scarecrow for me!" Dorothy said.

"Why?" They both asked curiously.

"Because I'm having a lot of fun and either way I can't really do it myself." Dorothy said.

Alex rolled his eyes and hugged scarecrow. He then broke from the hug and walked over to Dorothy.

"I know you're having fun and all but please be careful" Alex said.

"But I'm having fun." Dorothy said purring a bit.

Alex chuckled and kissed Dorothy on the cheek. She blushed and purred some more. She was somewhat content with her situation and at least she was somewhat mobile, she would just have to figure out stairs.

Yea, the thing about stairs and steps could be a problem for someone with a wheelchair as well as a broken arm and leg. But we can all imagine that Dorothy will manage.

Dorothy: you better hope so, or I'll set Alex on you.
Me: okay I get the point.
Dorothy: Good.
Reviewers: Alright get on with it!
Me: Okay, okay, I get the point
