Me: Okay, next chapter, this'll be a good one.
Alex: Just one quick question?
Me: yes?
Alex: How much longer till Dorothy gets to recover?
Me: till she recovers, a few more chapters, don't worry, it's not like she's going to change into a cat again.
Audience: For Oz's sakes, get on with it *throws tomatoes*
me: Pulls up a mesh screen for protection* want some salsa?
Alex: no thanks.

Disclaimer you know, and quick authors note, I never said I wasn't going to do a scarecrowXalex thing, I said I had no idea how to do something like that.*ducks to avoid more tomatoes and flying produce* it will happen, eventually, briefly, when you least expect it *Gets to writing the new chapter*

Dorothy spent most of the move whizzing around the chambers in her new chair with Toto and pockets in her lap. They seemed to be enjoying the ride as much as she was. After breakfast Dorothy and Alex went out to the city garden. It was there that the china princess was making a flower wreath.

"Marshall Mallow's gone to help with the De-icing of Candy County, turns out they got coated with a thick coating of cake frosting." The china princess said placing the wreath on Dorothy's head.

Dorothy chuckled and swiped at it with her good arm. She then looked at her hand and noticed her nails were beginning to become claw like again.

"I'm going to need to have these trimmed Glinda's spell seems to be wearing off on them." Dorothy said swiping at Alex.

"Whoa take it easy kitten." Alex said teasingly as he jumped back.

"Call me kitten again and I will scratch you." Dorothy said teasingly.

"Dorothy!" The china princess exclaimed.

"I'm kidding." Dorothy said chuckling.

"You better be." She replied sighing.

"You wouldn't happen to have a set of nail clippers would you?" Alex asked looking at the china princess.

"Sorry no, I just use a file." The china princess replied.

"Rats, I wonder if Glinda or Locasta have a pair." Alex asked.

"Glinda put the spell on my nails that made them shrink back to normal." Dorothy said.

Alex opened his mouth to say something but instead he turned to the door and smiled. Dorothy looked up at him and then turned the wheelchair slightly to see Annabella, Aislynn and Ellie. Annabella ran over to Dorothy and Alex. Toto and Pockets were running straight behind her. Annabella smiled and climbed into Dorothy's lap causing her to wince.

"Annabella please be careful, you just hurt Dorothy." The china princess scolding her.

Annabella looked up at Dorothy sympathetically. She was sorry for what she had done. She looked as if she hadn't realize Dorothy would be in a lot of pain.

"China princess don't scold her please, she didn't realize." Dorothy said.

"Sorry, it's just that we're all concerned for your wellbeing." The china princess said sighing.

"Dorothy?" Annabella asked curiously.

"Yes Annabella?" Dorothy replied.

"Are you okay?" she asked slightly worried.

"Yea, I'm fine, hey Ellie, do you know if Brianna's ice cream parlor is open yet?" Dorothy asked curiously.

"Yes, she says business has been rather slow with everyone trying to get all the ice off of everything." Ellie replied.

"Well then, let's go there." Dorothy said smiling.

"Oh I love ice cream." Annabella said excitedly.

Dorothy giggled and had Alex pick up Annabella. After this was done they all went towards the business district. When they got there they found Brianna polishing the windows. She saw them and smiled. She opened the door to allow Dorothy into the shop.

"Dorothy, how you feeling?" Brianna asked curiously.

"I've had better weeks." Dorothy said meowing a bit.

"I can imagine." Brianna said chuckling.

"Alex?" Annabella asked curiously.

"Yes Annabella?" Alex asked curiously.

"What flavors do they have?" Annabella asked curiously.

"That, that is really good question, Brianna?" Alex asked curiously.

"Volumes one through three of the flavor list are over there, volumes one and two of the combo flavor list are over there." She said pointing to respective bound books.

"Ah." Alex said nodding.

"I'd recommend the new chocolate flavor, I finally managed to develop an ice cream flavor using that hot chocolate from Candy County, and it is delicious." She said.

"It took you that long to make it into a flavor?" the china princess asked as both Toto and pockets looked at them rather confused.

"I'll explain later." Dorothy said looking down at them.

"Well, I like chocolate so, I'll have that then." Annabella said still a little unsure.

"Okay, how about the rest of you?" Brianna asked curiously.

"I think I'll have peach again." Alex said.

"I'll share with Alex." Dorothy added.

"I'll have chocolate as well Brianna." Ellie said.

"Same." Both the china princess and Aislynn said in unison.

"Okay then, rather simple order, one large bowl of peach and several orders of chocolate." She said running over to the counter.

As soon as everyone was settled and enjoying their ice cream the door to the parlor opened and the glasses maker walked in. his eyes fell on Dorothy and he gasped.

"Ms. Gale, what happened to you?" he asked worriedly.

"Again, please, just call me Dorothy, and well, I'd rather not talk about it to be quite honest." Dorothy replied.

"That's alright, do you still use those reading glasses I made you?" He replied.

"Yes, I use them a lot actually, I may end up needing prescription glasses because of this black eye though." Dorothy said.

"You must have hit it rather hard to achieve that." He said walking over to her.

"I was unconscious for nearly two weeks, I also broke my right arm and my leg, let's put that into perspective shall we?" Dorothy asked sarcastically.

"Ah, I see, and how would you like that perspective? I have many types of lenses." He said jokingly.

"Glasses joke, smart." Dorothy said continuing with eating her ice cream.

"You seem a little bit on edge." The man said taking off his own glasses and wiping them with a handkerchief.

"I guess I am, I hadn't thought about it but I sort of am on edge." Dorothy said.

"Because of your injuries or because of the jester?" He asked curiously.

"Both to be honest." Dorothy said.

"Fair enough, Brianna, one blueberry to go, I have a pair of spectacles to finish." He said.

"Coming right up, wiser break his again?" Brianna asked curiously.

"You surprised?" He asked curiously.

"Not really, I don't think any of us are." Brianna said handing him a covered container.

"Thanks, well, I'll talk to you later, I bid you guys a good morning." He said as he walked out.

As they watched the glasses maker walk in the direction of his shop something strange happened. A green glow started shining outside and was getting brighter. Immediately the shadow of Glinda and Locasta appeared in it just as the scepter flew through the shop window shattering it in the process. The scepter flew towards Dorothy and the light began pulsing. Dorothy sighed and removed the orb from the scepter causing the broom to drop like a stone for a second before trying to pull itself towards the emerald green orb. Glinda and Locasta ran in and Glinda grabbed the broomstick trying to hold it back.

"Those two pieces won't stay separate anymore." Glinda said struggling against the force of the broom.

"It must really want to help me now that it knows I'm in Oz." Dorothy said.

"That's what I said." Locasta replied grabbing the broom alongside Glinda.

"Well then, Stop!" Dorothy shouted.

Immediately the broomstick ceased its struggle and Glinda and Locasta fell backwards.

"We tried that, it wouldn't obey, sorry about your window Brianna." Glinda said.

"It's okay Glinda, it's fixable" Brianna said sighing.

"Well then, we have a new issue, Dorothy can keep herself away from the scepter, but keeping the scepter away from her could be a problem." Locasta said

Dorothy sighed and tossed the orb to Alex. She then brought the wheelchair over to Glinda and Locasta. The broomstick immediately flew into her hand as she approached.

"Sometimes I feel this thing has caused more trouble than it's worth." Dorothy said tossing it to Alex as well.

"Come on, you and I will head back to the city." Alex said finishing the ice cream and walking over to Dorothy.

"That sounds good." Dorothy said meowing a little more.

And with that, they left the parlor.
