Rin was feeling a lot better since she talked to the host club about her little issue, it felt as if a huge weight was lifted off her shoulders, although she still felt that little pang of sadness but it wasn't as bad as it was before. She was more colorful now, the bags under her eyes from lack of sleep were gone, she started baking sweets for the host club again, (she finally made the lemon bars) her poems were more upbeat again, and even though she was a little bit more quiet than usual she was a lot more social with everyone.
And of course the host club still tried to keep her spirits up, constantly making sure she was preoccupied. Tamaki had insisted that Rin learn how to ballroom dance in case there was another dance held and also forced Haruhi to dance with Rin since Tamaki was way too tall to stand in for a girl and he would NOT let the twins pervy hands touch anywhere on Rin's torso even if it would just be her shoulders. The twins would make her play the which one is Hikaru game although they did cheat from time to time just to irritate her. Honey would invite her over to eat cake as usual. And Haruhi would try her best to discuss cooking with her even though she didn't fully understand it but Rin appreciated the gesture. Kyouya actually did something a bit out of the blue. He gave her a chart on which snacks were consumed the most by the host club, so she knew what snacks were the most popular.
And Mori just kept bringing her books. Totally random books he just one day out of the blue he just handed her a book on how to make tapioca.
8888888888888888888888888888888888 FLASHBACK TO THE OTHER DAY88888888888888888
"Guys I've played this game like 10 times and I'm pretty sure I've won at least 3 times can I go read now please?" Rin whined tired of the game she had been playing.
"No!" the twins pouted "you have to make up for all the times you cheated! And besides you don't have a book."
"Okay one I'm not cheating and two there's a library." Rin made a circular motion with her hands as if that were the shape of a library. Unfortunately Rim overslept this morning and forgot to get a book.
"You know how much it costs to check out a book at the library right?" they inquired
"Yeah…its free right?" Rin tilted her head to the side "Unless it's late right?"
"Yeah and do you know what the late fee is?" Rin shook her head no "Its 50$"
"Fif-Fifty dollars?" Rin spluttered
"And that's just if it's late." Hikaru said
"Its 20 just too borrow it." Kaoru finished
"Are you serious?" Rin sighed
"Totally serious." The twins nodded.
Rin sat back down on the couch and got comfortable. "Looks like I'm not reading today."
"YAY!" the twins cheered and continued on with the game much to Rin's Distaste.
Mori had been listening in on this conversation. Given though it looked like he was having tea with Hunny he had not stopped listening to Rin's sweet little voice argue with the twins. Even though he had half the urge to go over there and remove her from the twins knowing how 'touchy' they get with her but they hadn't touched her yet so he stayed back. He wished she was reading poetry it was so calming when she read aloud to guests. He always strained to listen to her, or if she was reading a book the faces she made were so entertaining.
He suddenly remembered something. He had a book in his bag he pulled it out and looked at it (1000 Great tapioca recipes) he had no idea how he had obtained this book let alone why it was in his bag he just so happened to have it with him for some reason.
"I'll be right back." He said to Hunny who looked up at him with curious eyes as he made his way over to Rin.
"I swear your cheating!" Rin Yelled immensely frustrated with the twins, she pointed a finger at them "YOUR Kaoru I swear!"
"The game is which one is Hikaru not which one is Kaoru." They purred devilishly.
Before Rin could explode she saw Mori out of the corner of his eye "Oh hey Mori." Her tone sweetened as Mori looked down at her. "What can I do for you?"
Mori wasn't sure what to say so he just held the book out to her. Rin looked at the book and took it out of his hands "What's this?" she studied the cover "1000 great Tapioca recipes…" she mumbled to herself her brows furrowed.
Mori suddenly felt rather nervous. What if she thought it was weird? What if she though he was weird for having such a weird book? What if-
"Is this for me to borrow?" Rin silenced his racing thoughts with her question as she turned the book to the first page.
"Yeah." Mori Deadpanned.
"This looks pretty interesting…" Rin ran her hand over the silky page "I've never tried making tapioca before, it might be really good!" Rin tuned another page in the book and looked up at him "Thank you Mori that was very thoughtful of you." Rin smiled "DO you need it back by any specific time?"
"No." Mori answered
"Then I'll give it back to you as soon as I'm finished with it." Rin smiled. He grunted and walked back over to Hunny. Hoping she didn't see the light dusting of pink on his cheeks.
888888888888888888888888END OF FLASHBACK888888888888888888888888888888888888
And ever since then he brought her a book everyday completely random pickings. After the tapioca one he brought her one the animals of Africa, next it was a book on how make your own spices, then a book on how they make cement, a book about the history of makeup, a murder mystery, and the most current one she was on was her favorite so far, about a girl who finds out she's a witch and helps her family find ingredients to unlock a box with a bunch of cute boys.
"Wow…" Rin sighed as she shut the book her heart still pumping from the dramatic ending. The way the whole thing was written was just breathtakingingly bone chilling.
"Did you finish it?" Mori suddenly appeared behind the couch she was sitting on looking down at her expectantly.
"Oh yes this one was great." She handed the book back to him. "It was amazing, I couldn't put it down."
"Do you like fantasy books well?" he asked simply
"yes I do actually but I like to read something informational sometimes to." She smiled "I should start loaning you some of my books huh? Since you're being so generous with yours. You know there's this one book that kind of reminds me of you, I have a copy of it would you like to borrow it?"
"Okay." He said simply.
"Great." Rin clapped "I have to go now but I'll bring it to you tomorrow okay?" she pranced out the door still on the high from that book.

"Thanks for helping me carry all these groceries Rim." Haruhi thanked her friend as she trailed behind her carrying the majority of her groceries. "You really didn't have to."
"No, I wanted to, thank you for letting me come over, I'm glad I won't have to be all alone this weekend while my dad is away." Rin beamed readjusting the plastic grocery bags that were pressing into her arms creating red welts. "Funny I ran into you at the supermarket yeah? I mean what are the odds?"
About 20 minutes before
"Excuse me? Can you tell me where I would find some mangoes?" Santo asked the sales clerk whom had a hard understanding him, you see Santo's Japanese was a bit…rusty, Rin forced him to practice talking to people so he could feel more comfortable doing errands and send Rim out to do them less often. And also so he could maybe get a better job, he wasn't really happy with the one he had now, apparently the only bright side of it was seeing his friend Mark.
"Dad talk a bit slower you're talking weird." Rin coached him gently from the sidelines. Suddenly someone tapped her on the shoulder.
"DON'T TOUCH MY PURSE!" Rin screamed whipping around clutching her purse to her chest, but she relaxed when she saw it was Haruhi. "Oh sorry Haruhi I get a bit jumpy in super markets."
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." Haruhi apologized "I just thought I'd come say hi"
"How nice running into you here. Whoa…" Rin looked down at her groceries, "You have a lot of groceries…"
"I guess so." She shrugged "todays the day I usually restock the kitchen." She looked over at rims shopping cart "Are you cooking anything special tonight?"
"Nah, just a grilled cheese sandwich and some chips maybe…" Rin shrugged "My dad's going to hang out with his friend Mark."
"You're going to be alone all weekend?" Haruhi asked.
"Ah yeah…" Rin shrugged "I've got some homework to do and I plan on finding a copy of the second Witch marks."
"You know if you want to stay with me I'm sure my dad won't mind." Haruhi offered.
"Oh really? That'd be great! Thanks!" Rin turned to her dad who was still talking to the saleslady. "Hey dad can I spend the night at Hariri's?"
"Huh? Oh yeah sure, behave yourself, what do you mean you don't carry Apples it's a generic Grocery store food!" Santo argued.
88888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888
"I'm just glad I won't be lonely this weekend." Rin sighed. Haruhi could tell Rim was trying really hard to forget Iku's wedding for the sake of her friends. Haruhi suddenly had an idea
"I don't mean to sound Rude but would you like to make us dinner?" Haruhi asked
Rin gasped "Oh my god yes!" Rim would have jumped if the grocery bags weren't weighing her down. "Oh my god I'm so exited now! What would you like to eat? Do you like spicy? Or do you want Italian? I could make something American! Oh! I can make-" Rim stopped when she realized Haruhi was no longer beside her but had fallen behind a few feet. "…Haruhi?" Rim called out to her and she didn't move she just stared on ahead her mouth slightly agape. Rin squinted at her and followed her gaze only to copy Hariri's expression as she realized what had caught her attention. A stretch limousine was parked out in front of her apartment complex. "Oh my god don't tell me that's the Yakuza! Haruhi what did you do?!" Rin panicked then to her relief she saw Kyouya, Mori, Tamaki, the twins, And Hunny emerge from the limo.
"IF I should be so lucky…" Haruhi bit out darkly through clenched teeth
Rin noticed the crowd that had gathered around the limos and seemed pretty flipping excited about it, I mean, who wouldn't be! It's not every day you see a limo! Everyone was mumbling something about celebrities or how beautiful the boys were. One little boy who was so enthusiastic about the whole ordeal he was spinning around chanting 'Rich people! Rich people!'
There was a dull 'thunk' sound from Rin's left, she turned to see Haruhi had banged her head against a nearby telephone pole.
"Haruhi don't do that, you'll get a goose egg." Rin grabbed her friends shoulder and pulled her face off the light pole.
"So this is where Haruhi lives?" Kaoru asked
"Yeah it's pretty big, bigger than I thought I would be." Hikaru beamed looking at the complex left and right.
"Look at all the rooms!" Hunny cheered
"This is what you might call and aggregate commoner dwelling, Haruhi's home is just one of the many units in this building." And there goes Kyouya explaining everything to everyone as if this were a freaking nature special.
"Kyouya! Why did you bring these idiots with us!? Especially those two doppelgangers?!" Tamaki yelled grasping Kyouya's vest.
"Well you see… I knew you didn't have the courage to come here alone. So I thought it would be best if everyone came along." He shooed away the twins "Alright lets go home I guess I underestimated our great leader." Kyouya sighed sounding almost fake defeated.
"What?! I'm not going!" the twins argued
"I'm sorry! Don't leave, I don't want to be alone…" Tamaki said quickly.
Tamaki went on some spiel about not being rude while Rin watched Haruhi Fume angrily.
"Don't say anything that Might offend Haruhi or her father and cause them to ask them to leave." Tamaki added
"Well it's too late for that! Go away!" Haruhi yelled shaking with anger.
"That Dress is pretty cute!" the twins and Hunny complimented
"Shut up! Get the hell out of here!" Haruhi yelled causing Tamaki to cower away in tears.
"Haruhi's so mad she actually cursed at us!" he cowered. Then started blaming the twins for the whole ordeal.
"Haruhi? Breath." Rin called out to her gently squeezing her shoulders trying to calm her "Deep breaths."
Haruhi's land lady came up and talked to her but Rin was too preoccupied juggling her groceries to notice.
"Hey do you know those guys? Are they models? Are they your boyfriends? Are they your lovers? Do they know about one another?" some girl came up to her and started asking a million questions. Rin suddenly shoved some bags in her hand
"Hold these." She said simply stretching her arms trying to work out the aches.
"I bet they buy your clothes huh? They buy you lots of gifts and jewelry to try and earn your love right? RIGHT?!" she squealed as she bounced up and down, Rin looked down at her clothes, a grey off the shoulder shirt with an American flag on it, short shorts, and orange flip flops, why would a guy buy her this?
"No." Rin said simply taking back her groceries. "I have to go."
"Oh please please please! Get me one of their numbers!" she called out
Rin ignored her as she rejoined the group "What did I miss?"
888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888
"Okay I'm only giving you guys a quick peek, 3 seconds then you all go home got it?" Haruhi stated firmly.
"Look Haru-Chan" Hunny held a box up "We brought you some cakes!"
"Haruhi…" Rin looked at her with one of those faces that said a thousand words this one said 'you need to let them in because they brought cake and I like cake and somewhere its someone's birthday so we must eat the cake it's inevitable…I want that cake'
"Fine…" Haruhi sighed exasperated "I guess I'll make some tea…" Haruhi inserted the key an opened the door revealing her humble abode.
The boys stared for a while taking in the sight before them, Tamaki seemed relived for some reason.
"What a hovel…" Hikaru muttered before Tamaki shushed him frantically.
"A wood built two bedroom unit. That's common for a commoner family of two." Kyouya stated
"Can we not act like this is an episode of national geographic?" Rin strained to say as she ran to the nearest table and set down all the groceries, sighing in relief as the feeling came back to her arms.
"Hold on…" Hunny stated seeing where Rin had kicked off her orange flip flops. "Are we supposed to take off our shoes?"
"Please if you don't mind…" Haruhi said
"You hear that Mori? We have to take our shoes off! It's kind of like going to the Dojo huh?" Hunny beamed
"Yeah." Mori grunted.
"Do you have any house slippers for us Haruhi?" Hikaru asked.
"Wait the rooms covered in tatami mats!" Kaoru proclaimed.
"In that case we don't need slippers." Hikaru shrugged and walked on in
"Thanks for inviting us in!"
"Yeah thanks." Mori grunted
"It's greatly appreciated" Tamaki thanked
"Yes thanks Haruhi." Kyouya purred.
"Did they really ask for house slippers?" Rin pinched the bridge of her nose as she stood next to Haruhi.
