As time ticked on and the army of flying monkeys approached the city. Dorothy had just nodded off into a quiet slumber while Alex was seated in a chair right in front of the door in the event that Dorothy woke up and tried to make a run for it. Alex couldn't help but notice that Dorothy was crying in her sleep.

"ohOh Dorothy." Alex sighed as he walked over to Dorothy and wiped the tears from her eyes with a handkerchief.

Alex then sighed and went back to his chair. As the clock struck nine it was then that things went down hilldownhill fast immediately the sounds of screeching and china being smashed could be heard outside and throughout the palace. Dorothy was jolted awake as the palace began to shake.

"It's the jester's monkeys, they're destroying the city!" came the voices of the gaurdsguards as they ran by.

Dorothy got up and ran for the scepter but Alex was faster. heHe grabbed the scepter and then her grabbed her wrist.

"Dorothy show some restraint, I know you care about these people but we promised not to leave the palace." Alex said as Dorothy struggled against him.

"Alex, let me go, give me the scepter, what if people are being broken!?" Dorothy asked worriedly.

"Dorothy, I hate having to argue with you but I cantcan't let you go, you and I both know what will happen if I do, you'll go out there, probably nearly get yourself captured or severely injured again, and then you'll need rescuing." Alex said tightening his grip on her wrist.

Dorothy continued to struggle against Alex's grip for several minutes before giving up in frustration. He was stronger than her, there was no doubt about it, but she wanted to help. Being unable to help made her feel like she was doing something wrong, what if people were being hurt, in the end it was her fault, the events that led to this all started with her. asAs these thoughts reeled through her mind she began to weep again. whenWhen the clock struck ten the jester's voice was heard resonating throughout the country.

"Alright, you've done enough damage boys, retreat for now, I'm surprised Dorothy didn't rush out as soon as she heard things being broken." His voice said.

Immediately the sound of screeching was heard and the sounds of breaking china stopped. Dorothy just looked at Alex, who finally had released her wrist and she walked over to the bed. sheShe knew if she had gone out there she would have definitely been captured or something, and the jester was making a mockery of it. sheShe sat down on the bed and covered her face with her hands. Alex looked at her for a moment, he then walked over to her worriedly.

"Dorothy?" Alex asked curiously

"Alex, please leave me be for a bit, I think I need to cry for a bit." Dorothy said looking up at him with tears in her eyes.

Alex nodded and decided to bring the scepter and the slippers with him. As he left the room he found guards stationed in the hallway.

"Keep an eye on her please, make sure she doesn't run." Alex said.

The guards saluted and walked around him. Alex walked along for some time before he found the china princess and Marshall mallowMallow in what seemed to be the throne room. theyThey saw Alex carrying the scepter and the slippers and looked at him worriedly.

"Is she alright?" The china princess asked worriedly.

"Yea, I think she's just angry at herself at the moment, now that we know it was definitely meant to be a trap for her." Alex said walking over to them and sitting down.

"Maybe I should go talk to her." the china princess said getting up.

Neither Alex nor Marshall were willing to argue. The china princess smiled and walked in the direction of the room. whenWhen she arrived she was surprised to find Dorothy sitting in the corner crying silently, as if she didn't want to be heard.

"Dorothy, would you like to talk, girl to girl?" The princess asked curiously.

Dorothy nodded and the china princess walked over to her and sat down.

"isIs the city, badly damaged?" Dorothy asked sniffing a bit.

"The city, yes, but almost no one was harmed or dropped from a very high height, a few gaurdsguards were broken trying to keep the monkeys away from the castle thought." The princess replied.

"It was a trap, for me, it's my fault that your beautiful country is falling into ruin." Dorothy said pushing away from the princess a bit.

"Dorothy, don't say that." The princess said scooching over and placing a hand under her chin.

"But it is and you know it, if I hadn't killed the witch of the west or ever come to Oz these events would never have had to happen." Dorothy said pushing the princess's hand away.

"Dorothy, where would we be if you didn't come to Oz, I wouldn't have met my husband, and thinking about it, what would have happened to ace? And you also would never have gotten in a relationship with Alex." The princess said trying to sound encouraging.

"So what? What iveI've done is still causing more harm than help." Dorothy said replied wiping the tears off her face.

"nowNow you're just trying to be a Debbie Downer, you know that's not true, you've save more people than those who've have been harmed by the jester." The princess said.

"Debbie Downer? I've never heard that before." Dorothy said chuckling and smiling a bit.

"Oh, I heard Glinda say it to Ellie once, but that's besidesbeside the point, I managed to get you smiling." She said as a smiled grew on her face.

"China princess, how come you guys didn't tell me the jester was growing more powerful?" Dorothy asked curiously as she sniffed.

"I'll answer that with a question, don't you think you would get stressed out during your recovery if you found that out?" The princess replied.

"You know I would have tried my best to cope." Dorothy replied.

"Dorothy…" The china princess said trailing off.

"Alright, I would have worried a lot, is that what you wanted to hear?" Dorothy asked getting frustrated.

The princess sighed and crawled over so that she was in front of Dorothy. She then smiled and lightly poked at the soles of Dorothy's feet. This in turn caused Dorothy to draw back and giggle. After a few seconds the china princess got up and offered Dorothy a hand. Dorothy took it and pulled herself up. She then gave the china princess a tight hug.

"Feeling better?" The princess asked chuckling.

"A little, thank you." Dorothy said.

"Come on, we'll go to the throne room, I'll have the servants make us some of that mint tea we love so much." the princess said leading Dorothy out of the room.
