Meanwhile at the jesters hide out.

"Well Dorothy gale, it looks like I need to find a better way to get to you, my plan is almost complete, and soon I shall be powerful enough to invade all of Oz" the jester said chuckling to himself

He then turned towards the crystal ball. It was showing the image of Dorothy asleep in her bed, obviously in the middle of another nightmare. He chuckled and brought his fingers to his lips and whistling loudly. Immediately Nikko flew into the room and saluted.

"You, go to Kansas with your army, swarm the gale farmhouse, and attack if you can." The jester said.

Immediately Nikko saluted again and flew off screeching. The jester laughed wickedly and turned back to the crystal.

"Soon, soon it will be time" He said.

Later in Kansas.

After Dorothy returned home that night and had gone to sleep she found herself in the middle of a nightmare. The jester had captured everyone she cared about and had either turned them to white marble statues or into marionettes. She couldn't move or scream as the jester laughed wickedly around her. Tears were streaming down her face as she watched her friends either frozen with looks of pain or just frozen, emotionless and soulless looks of being turned into a puppet. Soon she felt someone wrap their arms around her.

"Dorothy! Wake up, it's alright, it's just a dream!" Came the voice of Alex

Dorothy's eyes snapped open and she abruptly sat up and found herself in Alex's arms. She also found herself drenched in sweat and that she had been crying in her sleep. She looked at the window and found it was now morning she then turned back to Alex. Dorothy then rested her head on Alex's shoulder and cried.

"Alex, it was horrible." Dorothy whispered.

"I can imagine, lessons have been cancelled today due to the temporary location being needed for a teachers meeting." Alex said kissing her on the cheek.

"Where are the others?" Dorothy asked curiously as she sniffed and wiped the tears from her face.

"Your aunt has taken the triplets with her to my house, Ace and Ellie are in the living with your uncle, Glinda, and Mr. Foreman, as well as Toto and the cats." Alex replied.

Dorothy smiled and opened her mouth to say something however Glinda ran in rather quickly.

"Dorothy, you better hurry and get changed, there are flying monkeys swarming outside." Glinda said with a hint of fear and worriedness in her voice.

Alex turned and immediately got off the bed. He picked up his sword and left the room pushing passed Glinda. Dorothy looked at Glinda worriedly. She then got up and turned away from Glinda who walked out of the room and shut the door behind her. Dorothy then changed into her regular shirt and dress and slid on the slippers before grabbing the scepter and leaving the room. She quickly ran out of the house and was met with Ellie and Alex, both with swords drawn and swinging at monkeys who tried to get close to them. Dorothy shot several orbs out of the scepter at several of them. She then tried to run over to Ellie and Alex but she felt her arm get grabbed by one of the monkeys as it swooped down. She screamed and whacked it with the scepter. The monkey screeched loudly and let go, swiping at her arm and scratching it. Dorothy winced in pain but continued to join Ellie and Alex.

"Dorothy, did that thing hurt you?" Ellie asked not even turning from her position.

"Yes, it scratched me, and you know what, I think it was the same one as last time." Dorothy said sending some more balls of light out of the scepter hitting several monkeys.

After a few minutes of keep the monkeys from advancing closer to the house they head of the flying monkeys screeched and the army began to retreat. The jester then appeared in front of Dorothy smiling wickedly. Glinda ran out from the other side of the farmhouse and saw the jester. He smiled and pointed his wand at her so she wouldn't advance any closer.

"You know it's useless to go against me now Glinda, not even your magic can stop me now." He said look at her then back at Dorothy.

"What do you want?" Dorothy asked looking at the scratch marks on her arm.

"Your surrender would be nice." The jester said making Dorothy angry.

"I'll never surrender to you!" She shouted as Alex held her back.

"Oh we'll see about that." The jester said now point his wand at the group.

Alex and Ellie immediately stepped in front of Dorothy.

"Glinda sent ace and the others to the emerald city." Ellie whispered to Dorothy.

"Jester, if you want to destroy Dorothy you've got a long line of people you'll have to break through in order to get her." Alex said drawing his sword.

"Well then, I may as well start." The Jester said raising the wand above his head and backing a few paces away.

"Start what!?" Dorothy asked looking over and then gasping.

"Where once a living soul did dwell, now is nothing but an empty shell!" the jester shouted bringing the wand down as a smoking orb of purple light shot from it.

As the orb emerged from the wand and started for them Glinda ran straight at it and jumped in front of Alex just as it was about to hit him. The orb hit her square in the chest and she was immediately transformed into a puppet causing Ellie to scream loudly. The jester laughed in triumph and flicked the wand, immediately the puppet was encased in a wooden cabinet with a glass door just like the puppets had been in the witch's castle. Dorothy looked at the jester angrily.

"Change her back now!" Dorothy shouted pushed Alex and Ellie away.

"How about no, our little games of cat and mouse are at an end, this plan worked perfectly, and soon I shall once more start picking off your friends and family until you have no choice but to surrender." The jester said as the cabinet vanished.

"Send Alex and Ellie to Oz safely." Dorothy said clicking the heels of the slippers together.

Immediately Alex and Ellie vanished. Leaving Dorothy and the jester standing face to face.

"Your friends will no longer be able to go anywhere safely, Dorothy gale, Let it be war between us." He said vanishing in a flash of fire.

Dorothy sighed and ran inside. The first place she went was the bathroom. She washed the wound on her arm and wrapped some bandage from the medicine cabinet around it. She then grabbed the scepter and looked down at the slippers.

"Take me to Emerald City." Dorothy said clicking her heels together.

Immediately she felt herself lurch forward. The journey seemed slightly faster this time but she still didn't feel ill or nauseas. She reflected on her thoughts quickly. It was time, war was to begin, and now it was definitely her fault. As she felt her feet make contact with the floor of the chambers she fell to her knees and began to weep.

Well things are beginning to take a dark turn, will Dorothy give into the jester before he takes away everything and attack Oz? probably not. Reviewers, I'm afraid this story only has a few more chapters left in it to go. But do not worry, as they say when one book closes another one opens.

Me:Well that went well.
Alex: What did?
Me: Never mind you weren't here for that.
Alex: so it's time then?
Me: I guess so.
Alex: Well then…
