"Iku?" Rin walked into her sister's room in the middle of the night whispering as to not wake up her dad "Iku?"
"What's wrong Rin?" Iku mumbled sleepily
"I had a nightmare…" Rin said trembling
"Come here." Iku lifted the covers for her little sister to come in she crawled on the bed and snuggled next to her sister "What was it about?"
"There was a duck trying to eat me." Rin said quietly "A really really big duck."
"A duck?"
"Yeah and it had sharks teeth." Rin said
Iku wasn't sure what to make of this dream. She knew Rin was uneasy around ducks ever since she saw that duck kill that squirrel "Well it was just a dream okay? Dreams can't hurt you."
"But they feel real…" Rin sighed. Iku looked at her sister sadly, it was 3 months ago that their mom walked out on them, Rin started having nightmares more often. Every time Rin had a nightmare she would go to mom and she would take care of it.
"You can try lucid dreaming." Iku suggested
"What's that?" Rin asked
"It's where you control your dreams. Iku explained "Every time something doesn't seem real, just look at your hand and if it looks weird then you know it's a dream and you can control it."
"…does it work?" Rin asked
"Yeah if you remember to check your hands." She said holding her sister tightly "Now try sleeping okay?"
"Okay…" Rin shut her eyes and had a lovely dream about riding on giant ducks.

"Rin you're going to be fine." Iku held her sisters hand tightly "it's just one cavity. And they said it's not that bad."
"But it's bad enough that they need to stick a needle in my mouth." Rin shivered
"It's not that bad. Plus it makes it so when they fill the cavity it won't hurt."
"Really?"
"Yeah, and don't worry, I'll be right here." She squeezed her hand

"Iku what does this thing do?" Rin asked holding up a mascara wand
"Its mascara, it goes on your eyelashes, what are you doing?" Iku asked looking away from her homework
"Penny and iris are wearing makeup to the dance, and I want to too." She sighed "I just don't know what any of this stuff does."
"Well let me do your makeup." Iku stood up and wiped the too much lipstick off Rin's mouth "And later ill teach you how to do your makeup so you don't look like a clown."

A few months ago…
"I look like a freak." Rin cried "I look like a total freak I'm going to a school with kids who probably have professional stylists do their hair every day for them and I have a freaking bald spot."
"you don't look like a freak… it's not… as bad as you think" Iku tried to lie to her sister the best she could "lots of celebrities do that half shaven look."
"What celeberities would do this on purpose?" Rin asked sobbing
"Okay….hold on a moment." Iku left and came back with a blue beanie "Here." She stuck the hat on her head "See? You can't even tell."
Rin looked in the mirror and saw that the hat completely covered the bald spot, it just looked like all her hair was pushed to the side.
"Thank you Iku…" Rin hugged her sister "I'm just scared is all…"
"I'm scared for you to." She hugged her sister tighter "But I know you'll make friends at Ouran, if Daichi went there then there must be nice people." Iku assured her "You're going to be fine Rin."

Present day
"IKU?!" Rin burst from the lower deck screaming at the top of her lungs calling out for her sister. No one was on the top deck, not even the crew. The only thing that surrounded Rin were seagulls and deck chairs. She jogged around lifting up cushions from deck chairs and ducking under tables looking for Iku, after 10 minutes she huffed and sat down in one of the chairs "Where could she be?" she asked herself Suddenly a seagull landed on her head and sat there as if her owned her head just sitting there like, not a care in the world.
"Get off me!" Rin shouted shooing the bird away "My head is not a nesting place!" The bird flew away to the other side of the ship. As she watched it fly away she noticed the crow's nest for the first time. "Huh… I didn't know ships still had crow's nests." She thought to herself studying it, just as she was about to look away she noticed 2 feet sticking out of the nest. Her eyes widened "Found you…" she whispered to herself sprinting over to the crow's nest and climbing up the ladder as fast as she could.
"Iku!" She shouted in relief when she reached the top spotting her sister sitting with her legs up the wall…side thing other the crow's nest laying on her back in her favorite black sweat pants and a zip up hoodie with her hair done up into a bun and her eyeliner smeared down her face from tears.
"Rin?" she asked astonished moving her head back looking at her sister from an upsidown angle, not moving from her position. "What are you doing here?"
"I could ask you the same question." Rin raised an eyebrow.
Iku looked at her for a moment before returning her gaze to the sky "Tuche."
"Iku why are you in the crow's nest?" Rin sighed as she clumsily climbed up tripping into the crow's nest. "Your wedding is kind of… well, right now." She said leaning over her sister
"I can't do it…" she stated shakily in almost a psychotic way, her eyes wide and squirrelly as she stared off into space.
"What? What do you mean you can't do it all you have to do is walk down the aisle and say I do…" she muttered and sat down near her sisters head looking at her from an upsidown angle
"There are so many people in there do you know how important 78% of those people are?! They all own HUGE company's and they are all valuable clients!" Iku shouted waving her hands in the air "if this wedding doesn't go perfectly I will ruin Daichi's reputation!"
"What does business have to do with you and Daichi becoming husband and wife?" Rin questioned as she stood up and pushed Iku's legs down of the edge of the nest and pulled her into a sitting position.
"It has to do with everything!" She shouted as if it were the most obvious thing in the world "Yone said-"
"Oh god Yone?" Rin scoffed and leaned forward so she could see her from behind. "You started listening to Yone?" Rin sat on her knees behind her sister who was now siting normally and began tidying up her wedding hairstyle.
"Well…she said that our entire future rides on this day…" Iku blinked "What if I ruin it?"
"For god's sake it's a wedding! Not a business partnership…" Rin exclaimed. "Just be yourself and be nice and leave the business to Daichi…"
"But…" Iku started her voice shaky "What if things change after we marry?"
"What do you mean if things change you and Daichi will still do the same stuff …including each other…" Rin added thoughtfully and Iku suddenly stood up looking down at her sister, emerald green eyes brimming with tear
"What if he leaves me? Just like mom did?!" Iku suddenly had heavy tears running down her cheeks smearing her eyeliner even more "I don't think I can take that again Rin!"
"Iku-"
"Why isn't mom here anyway?!" Iku crossed her arms "She should be in the front row! Left side! Right next to dad! She should have helped me pick out my dress and bouquet! And the cake designs! WHY ISENT SHE HERE WITH ME?!" Iku suddenly fell to her knees and bawled like a child.
Rin suddenly realized they never actually talked about mom once ever since this wedding business started…Iku must've been bottling this up the entire time... she never really did talk about mom a lot it didn't seem to bother her until now. Rin bit back her tears she had to be strong just like her sister had for her all these years. Rin set a hand on her sister's shoulder.
"Do you really think Daichi is like that?" Iku suddenly stopped sobbing and looked up at her sister her eyes still pooling with tears "I may not know Daichi as well as you do and I think we both know deep down he would never do that to you because Iku he loves you and I know you love him" Rin smirked a bit "When he walks into the room you just…I don't know there's more you there, your brighter…and so is he…because he loves you and you love him to and to be honest…I never remember that with mom and dad they just seemed…I don't know they were just there together… but Iku if you honestly think Daichi would do that to you would you really have said yes?"
Iku stared at her sister a moment, awe was in her eyes as a new wave of tears threatened to spill over "Your right…I love Daichi…he would never hurt me…"
"And Iku if for some reason it doesn't work out and we both know it will just remember." Rin said as she stood up and held a hand out to her sister "No matter what, I will always be there to catch you just like you were always there for me even …even if that means…" Rin paused for a moment "Not being there…"
Iku stared at her sister for a long moment before embracing her "Rin I am so sorry…" Iku squeezed her sister tightly "I should have stood up for you, I should have never let Yone say those things to you! I should have never let her kick you out of the wedding ever!" she cried soaking her shirt's shoulder "I'm so sorry Rin! I really didn't want to!"
"Then why did you?" Rin had tears prickling in her eyes. Iku pushed away and looked at her sister who had thick tears streaming down her cheeks.
"She *sniff* said such awful things Rin she scared me I didn't know what to do."

Iku had had the worst day of her high school life ever. Her prom date had ditched her for another girl and left her to find her own way home, so she had to walk on foot in her prom dress she saved up for getting mud all over it, not to mention it was raining, and barefooted the unforgiving gravel of the road biting at her bare feet as she carried her shoes. She wanted nothing more than to just lie down in bed and cry.
She finally made it home and slammed the door shut faling to the ground and finally just letting it all out. Knowing her dad would be at work and Rin at a sleep over.
"Iku?" Rin came in looking at her sister in a heap on the ground her poofy dress fanned out around her. "What's wrong? I thought you'd be going to after prom?" Rin bookmarked her book and closed it.
"I thought you were spending the night with Penny?" Iku asked her voice strained with tears and sobs
"She got sick so I stayed here." Rin put her book on the entryway table and tucked her glasses away. "What happened?" she asked concerned kneeling to her sister's level.
"He- *sniff* he ditched me…" Iku sobbed out "He didn't even dance with me once. Even when I asked. And I had to walk home"
"Well that piece of crap!" Rin yelled angry "Do you want me to beat him up?"
"No Rin…." She sobbed "I just wanna cry…"
"Okay…" Rin stood up "Do you wanna take off the dress?" Iku nodded silently. Rin helped her up and took her to the kitchen undoing the corset laces on her dress and helping her out of it. Once she was free of the restricting dress she put a robe on her and sat her down on a kitchen chair.
"Wait here." Rin put the teapot on the oven to make some hot chocolate. Then she scurried to the bathroom to draw a bath, throwing in some bubbles and some fancy lavender bath salts she got for her birthday and got all of Iku's shampoo and soaps out of the cupboard and set them out. Once that was done she came back in to find Iku exactly as she was.
"Come on… I drew you a bath…" Rin pulled her older sister out of the chair and into the bathroom where she left her to her own washing. Going back into the kitchen Rin made some hot chocolate with her own homemade hot chocolate powder with some whipped cream topped with chocolate syrup. She set that out. Going into Iku's bedroom she got out her favorite p'js and fuzzy socks. She gently knocked on the bathroom door to fin Iku submerged in the bubbles. Rin set the pj's on the toilet and left.
After putting in her favorite TV series and making her a nest in her bed she set out her hot chocolate and went to the kitchen to make her some chocolate muffins. After the muffins were finished she found Iku in her room watching the 2nd episode of (Five Guys 4 Lies)
"I made you muffins." Rin came in with a plate with 3 chocolate muffins on it. Just as she was about to leave before Iku grabbed her hand. "Will you… watch this with me?" she asked quietly her voice strained from crying.
"Of course." Rin snuggled next to her in bed and munched on a chocolate muffin
"Thank you Rin…"
"No problem sis…"
And mysteriously the following Monday there was a smelly dead fish in that boys locker… how it got in there? The world will probably never find out… ;)
