The day of the fitting

"Where is that girl going?" Yone asked Iku as Rin disappeared into the dressing room.

"To get her bridesmaids dress." Iku explained smiling trying to be nice to her mother in law. "You know I thought maybe we could get her something different since she is the maid of honor, and Rin doesn't look good in yellow, maybe we could find something blue or purple?" she suggested

Yone gave a long hard look at Iku. "Iku… you understand how important this wedding is to Daichi right?"

"Oh he can't stop talking about it! I'm so excited! I never thought my wedding would have a chocolate fountain!" Iku said excitedly

"This isn't all about you two getting married it's about Aurelia, honestly Iku!" Yone shook her head and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Why do you think so much money is being put into this if it was just about you getting married if it was just that you could have just eloped or something, Iku this wedding must be perfect! if one thread is out of place at this wedding it could crumble the company! The fact that you're just a mere nurse doesn't help either. But Daichi insists he's in love with you so we'll just have to work around that …somehow."

Iku said nothing just deal with it just until after the wedding then you hardly have to see her. She thought to herself. She crossed her arms and looked towards a painting on the wall trying to distract herself.

"Which is why I've made the decision to exclude your sister from the wedding." Yone said simply.

"What?" Iku faced Yone who was currently typing something on her smartphone. "N-no! She's my sister! She's not just going to sit there in the pews! I want her standing with me!"

"Oh Iku she won't sit in the pews…she's not going at all…" she said simply sending a message to one of her clients on her phone.

Iku gasped "You can't-"

"Iku how's your fathers work going?" Yone didn't look up from her phone "He's still managing one of Aurelia's stores right?"

"Y-Yes but-"

"It would be an absolute shame if he was fired wasn't he? For stealing out of the cash register" Iku choked on what she was going to say next, too confused to say anything. "And if that thieving reputation followed him oh no! What place would hire a thief?"

"And…Whatever her name is… is she enjoying her education? Made new friends hm?" Yone continued, Iku could just stare at her wide eyed "it would be such a shame if she had to leave all of her new friends because someone found illegal substances in her locker? Oh! She wouldn't be able to go to Ouran ache demy or any school at that matter… how horrible if she was never accepted into another high school again."

Iku knew exactly what she was getting at. She was showing her how much power she had over her, she basically just put a collar on her and deemed herself her owner. She threatened to have her dad fired and ruin his reputation! Santo could not lose his job, not now! Sure they weren't living Paycheck to paycheck but they just bought a new apartment which probably put a huge dent in his savings, if he couldn't get another job and he wouldn't be able to support himself or Rin… Rin… she HAD to go to school she Had to get into college, She couldn't go to college if no high school would let her in, and she's made so many friends at Ouran. She thought back to the picture how fondly she spoke of everyone Especially Haruhi. Iku had been so worried about her making new friends. After she left Iris and Eric back in America she thought she wouldn't find friends as good as them. But she did… and she's so happy where she is… it would be so unfair.

"I think you know what I'm getting at here Iku." Yone walked up to Iku and grabbed her shoulder "If you want to marry my son, and do what's right for your family, you'll stand there and you'll keep your trap shut. I'm a very powerful woman Iku. Don't you think for a second there's something I can't do because you know I can."

Iku Froze. Now she's threatening her marriage with Daichi!

"I'm telling Daichi about this!" Iku wiped out her phone and pressed the speed dial. "This has gone too Far Yone! You're not kicking my sister out of the wedding"

"Oh go ahead! Just know that I will make sure you will never see my son again, and your father will lose his job and Rin will get kicked out of school" Yone scoffed.

Iku slowly snapped her phone shut… there was no way around this… she could call off the wedding… but how would she tell that to Daichi? She loved Daichi so much with all her heart it was almost painful. How could she just call off the wedding? But how would she tell Rin she was kicked out? What was she supposed to do? What if Yone still did those awful things if she called off the wedding?

"My name is Rin not Ren." Rin stepped out of the changing room. Iku Panicked and looked at her shoes, she just couldn't tell Daichi the wedding was off, she loved him too much to break his heart. She had to let this happen, for the safety of her marriage and her family.

Iku wanted to vomit hearing the things Yone was saying to Rin. They were carefully executed and thought out so they would pick on all of Rin's insecurities, her hair… her fear of the ocean… her social status… everything. Iku was in physical pain, her chest forming a knot that got tighter with every blow Yone threw at her baby sister. But she kept it all bottled.

It was to the point where her sister had fled the room, half in tears, but she heard her sisters steps run down the halls and her sobs echo in the corridors. It broke Iku's heart in two.

"I can't believe you did that…" Iku shook her head tears spilling forth on her cheeks "I can't believe you said those things to my baby sister." She spat angel at Iku.

"She'll get over it." Yone shrugged nonchalant "Besides it's not like you couldn't have stopped me… I mean you could have agreed not to marry my only son but we both know you wouldn't do that right?" Yone said smugly. Iku was silent

"Come now ladies! We must decide on your hairstyle!" Yone clapped continuing on with her tasks in a much better mood than she was before. "And I'll take this…" Yone slipped the phone out Of Iku's pocket. "Wouldn't want you to figure out a way to sneak your sister into the wedding now hm? Or bothering my darling boy while he's out on business."

Present day

"You let Yone Kick me out because she would have gotten me kicked out of school and gotten dad fired?" Iku nodded not looking at her sister the shame filling her soul. So that explains why Iku wouldn't answer her cell phone or call her and why Yone had her phone, But most of all why she didn't stand up for her, she was just trying to protect her family "Did you tell Daichi?"

"I was afraid she would say I was lying." Iku sniffed again "I'm so scared of her Rin! I love Daichi so much and I can't lose him! Not before we got to spend our life together." Iku wiped the new set of tears off her cheeks "And when you showed me that picture of all your friends at the host club you looked so happy… I didn't want you to have to lose them… and dads working so hard to get another job I can't let his reputation get ruined!" Iku looked at her sister her green eyes more prominent from the redness around her eyes "Rin I am so sorry I should have found a way to explain this to you it wasn't fair to you and I'm sorry please forgive me!"

"Of course I forgive you." Rin started crying to. "But you need to talk to Daichi, if he really loves you like he says he does he'll believe you."

"Rin…" Iku sniffed and pulled away from the hug a bit so she could see her sister's face but not letting her go. "I can't do this without you…please be my maid of honor…"

"Wont that piss of Ren?"

"I don't give a rat's ass about Ren…" Iku said sharply "None else is more deserving of that position than my sister."

"Of course I will be your maid of honor but…" she looked down Remembering Yone's threat "I…Ouran I don't wanna leave Iku… I love it too much. And dads job-"

"Your right… I need to talk to Daichi." Iku gripped her sisters shoulders comfortingly "I'll make sure dad keeps his job and you can still go to school I promise."

Rin nodded. "Okay…well we should get you cleaned up… and fix your eyeliner to you look like a raccoon…" Rin added. Suddenly Rin's eyes went wide with fear

"Rin? What's the matter?"

"You do realize we have to inform Yone of this little arrangement right?"
