Disclaimer, you know. Quick authors note, hopefully some of you have noticed that I changed the story description from prequel to another sequel because I recently learned what prequel meant and it does not mean third. Anyways on with the story.

That evening Mr. Foreman had assessed Emma's burns and decided that they weren't they bad.

"I've been burned by the fire place, did you know embers can sometimes be thrown from a fire a fireplace and into the air?" Emma asked

"Yes my dear." Mr. Foreman said wrapping a bandage on her wound.

"Oh, will Dorothy be okay once she's done moping upstairs?" Emma asked curiously.

"I'm sure she will be, but I'm not going to bother her for fear that she wails on me." Alex said walking down the stairs

"Dorothy will be fine, she's just overly worried and overly stressed." Cassandra said hobbling down the stairs.

"She's asleep isn't she?" Jenny and Jessica asked in unison.

"Can you two stop doing that thing where you talk at the same time that's really starting to freak me out?" Alex said.

"They do that often." Mr. Foreman said.

"Sorry." Jenny said.

"Yes, sorry." Jessica said.

Alex chuckled and posed the question once more.

"The maids are right though is she asleep?" Alex asked.

"No." Cassandra said as Toto and pockets walked up to Alex and jumped into his lap.

"Mr. Mayor Sir, can I ask you a favor." Alex said.

"Sure." The mayor said

Meanwhile upstairs Dorothy had locked herself in the guest bedroom that was set up for her and was currently standing out on the balcony in the pouring rain. She didn't care that she was getting soaked at this point. As thunder shook the land. The jester was angry and Dorothy knew it. She had the jar with the dragon in it on her bedside table. She turned and looked at it. The scepter had taken vigil in front of the jar as if to make sure the dragon was completely detained. Dorothy turned back to the balcony and looked up. She allowed to cold rain water to hit her face. It washed away the tears that had streaked down her face.

"Well Dorothy, what are you going to do? It's no use crying." Dorothy asked herself.

She couldn't think of a response. The jester would do whatever it took at this point to get to her. She was snapped out of thought by the sound of the lock on the door clicking and the door opening. Dorothy turned to find the mayor walking in with a towel and a fresh dress for her to wear.

"Dorothy, oh dear, they told me you might go out there and get soaked." The mayor said.

"Who's they?" Dorothy asked curiously.

"Me, Emma, and Mr. Foreman, that's who we are" Alex said walking in and walking over to her and pulling her inside.

"Alex, I told you to wait out here till he told us it was safe to come in." Mr. Foreman said.

"Jon, please, before I get wound up more than I already am." Dorothy said taking the towel off the bed and taking her pigtails out.

"Dorothy my dear, why don't you get some sleep." Mr. Foreman suggested.

"Jon…" Dorothy said trailing off.

"Alright, I'll just go then." Mr. Foreman said walking with the mayor following close behind.

The door then shut and Dorothy heard the latch click again.

"Dorothy, you should go into the bathroom and change, don't worry, I'll still be here when you're done." Alex said.

Dorothy sighed. It was words like that which worried her. She sighed once more and grabbed the gown before going into the bathroom to change. A few minutes later she emerged from the bathroom with her dress and shirt on a coat hanger and the slippers which were surprisingly dry in hand. She hung the dress on the doorknob of the bathroom and dropped the slippers down by the bed with the scepter. She then got on the bed and sat down upon it. Alex joined her and kissed her. Dorothy pulled away and blushed before looking at the dragon. It was curled up like a sleeping kitten.

"Alex, stay with me tonight." Dorothy said.

"I don't plan on leaving your side tonight." Alex replied

Dorothy sighed and rested her head on his shoulder. She sighed and began to nod off. However she awoke to the sounds of the clock striking two in the morning to find Alex lying awake next to her reading a book by lamp light.

"How long?" Dorothy asked curiously.

"I've been up since one, you've been sleeping like a baby." Alex said,

"What's with the similes?" Dorothy asked curiously.

"What do you mean?" Alex asked looking from his book.

"You said sleeping like a baby, which is a simile, a comparison using like or as, and you don't normally do that, I mean I'm not questioning your intelligence but it makes me curious." Dorothy said.

"Like you said, I was making a comparison, but unlike my dad a train wreck could easily wake you, you just sleep rather peacefully." Alex said sitting up.

"Oh, why is the door open?" Dorothy asked curiously.

"Emma wanted me to tuck her in, that was the only time I left your side I swear, but also Cassandra has dropped in from time to time to check on you I should think." Alex said.

No sooner had he said this however Cassandra appeared in the doorway.

"You called?" She asked.

"No lady Cassandra, I was telling Dorothy how you were checking in from time to time." Alex replied.

"Ah, yes I have, must keep a keen eye on all the people staying here just in case the jester manages to break through." Cassandra said.

"Um, Lady Cassandra, do you mind if I ask you a few questions?" Dorothy asked curiously.

"Ask away child." Cassandra replied.

"One, did you know the witch of the east and the witch of the west as well as Glinda and Roquat did?" Dorothy asked.

"Indeed, I did, and if you ask me, they deserved what they got, for they took the wrong paths in the end, and because of them the jester is messed up the way he is." Cassandra replied.

"I know, they turned him into a jester as an experiment after their parents were destroyed by an accident." Dorothy said.

"Ah, so you know about that." Cassandra said looking at her.

"The jester showed me at my parent's grave a while ago." Dorothy said.

"Ah, I see, I think the energy he had to endure through muddled his mind." Lady Cassandra said.

"He discovered a painless way to get rid of magical energy." Dorothy said.

"I am aware of this, but trace amounts still remain, they always remain, taking in magical energy creates a curse that lasts a life time." Cassandra said referring to herself.

"You absorbed magical energy?" Alex and Dorothy both asked in surprise.

"You think I asked to look the way I do children? Of course not, but an accident caused me to age which forced me into retirement." Lady Cassandra said.

"But people in Oz have the choice to age if they wish?" Dorothy asked for reassurance.

"Indeed dear child." Cassandra replied.

"Thank you, that's all I really wanted to know." Dorothy said.

"Of course it is." Cassandra mumbled out.

"Right, anyways, Cassandra, would you mind putting me in a dreamless sleep if possible?" Dorothy asked curiously.

Cassandra smiled warmly and waved a hand in Dorothy's direction. Immediately Dorothy's eyes shut and she was asleep. Alex smiled and looked were Cassandra had been only to find she had vanished.

"Dorothy, you're going to have to explain to me why people here come and go so quickly one of these days." Alex said returning to his book.

Well some questions have been asked. Very few have gotten answers. But does anyone get the feel that Cassandra knows more than she's letting on? And will she manage to somehow restore her youth that was taken away from her by some unknown but recently mentioned accident? And what will the upcoming musical number be? (Most likely something from into the woods.)
