As the wind whipped around Dorothy rapidly she felt herself getting extremely dizzy. Soon the wind stopped and she came to a sudden and abrupt halt causing her to fall forward. As she fell she felt the back of her shirt get tightly grasped by Cassandra as she was immediately pulled back to her feet.
"You must be careful my dear, the mountain can be very dangerous." Cassandra said turning towards a friendly looking cottage that was against the mountain face and hobbling towards it.
"Is this your cottage?" Dorothy asked curiously as she checked to make sure the scepter hadn't been damaged.
"Indeed child." Cassandra replied as she continued towards it.
Dorothy smiled and followed Cassandra. As they both approached the door of the cottage Cassandra produced a key from a pocket on her cloak and unlocked the door. As they walked in immediately Dorothy noticed a fireplace with a cauldron over it had just burst to life. The cottage was larger on the inside than it looked on the outside, as if it had been built into the mountain. Which it had. In the middle of the room they were in was a table with a single chair placed in front of it. There was a staircase on the far left side that seemed as if it went up to a second level that wasn't noticeable from the outside. By the fireplace there were two wooden rocking chairs and a large blue crystal ball resting on a tea table. Cassandra looked at Dorothy and smiled before hobbling over to the fire place and sitting in the rocking chair.
"This cottage was built by me and Roquat the Nome King." Cassandra said leaning her staff against the chair.
"Which would explain why it appears to be built into the side of a mountain." Dorothy said walking over to the fire place and sitting in the other rocking chair.
"Indeed." Cassandra said smiling and waving her hand over the crystal ball.
Immediately the image of what was once the emerald city appeared in the crystal. Dorothy gasped in distress. She couldn't bear to think of any of her friends being prisoner, whether they were a statue or a puppet, being trapped in that now desolate place.
"It used to be so beautiful." Dorothy said as tears formed in her eyes.
"Indeed it did, now its dark crystal, Oz, is now under his regime." Cassandra said waving her hand over the crystal causing it to go dark.
Dorothy had no response. Her mouth hung open for several moments before she began crying. Cassandra sighed and shook her head before picking up her staff and getting up. She then hobbled over to a nearby cabinet and pulled out a kettle. She then hit her staff against the floor. Immediately the cauldron was replaced with the kettle over the fire. Dorothy sniffed and got up.
"Cassandra, there must be something you can do, I can't bear to think of anyone being prisoner there, not my friends, not my family." Dorothy said wiping the tears from her face.
"My dear child I wish there was, but I am too old to do anything about it." Cassandra said placing a hand on Dorothy's shoulder before hobbling over to the fireplace and placing a tea bag into the kettle.
Hearing this made Dorothy extremely upset. Upset to the point where the scepter began glowing dangerously bright. She then snapped. She turned to Cassandra.
"If you guys won't do anything then I'll do it myself." Dorothy shouted angrily
"Dorothy, I told you no." Cassandra said starting to hobble towards her.
"Take me to the Dark crystal palace!" Dorothy shouted clicking her heels together.
Immediately Dorothy felt the wind swirl around her and she felt herself lurch forward. Her vision went blurry and she felt her eyes burning with tears. Shortly after she felt her feet make contact with the floor. She almost fell forward but managed to catch herself before she hit the floor. She found herself somewhere now shat she didn't recognize. This didn't bother her though. She just wanted to find her aunt and uncle and anyone else if possible. She looked at her surroundings and notice the door that lead out of the room. She immediately ran out and into the one person she had hoped not to meet. The jester.
"You!" Dorothy shouted aiming the scepter at him.
"Yes? Oh, I know why you're here I assumed you'd show up, Nikko!" The jester shouted.
Immediately Dorothy heard the sound of screeching. She then felt her arms tied to her sides and she was then lifted up off the ground. Dorothy didn't care that she had walked herself into a trapped she needed to rescue her aunt, uncle and cousins. After a few minutes her anger got the better of her and she lashed out trying to kick the jester who was walking just out of hitting distance in front of her. Eventually they reached the chambers. The doors flew open and Dorothy was dropped to the floor.
"Dorothy!" came the surprised voices of her aunt and uncle.
"Auntie Em, Uncle Henry, are any of the other's still intact?" Dorothy asked choking back tears.
"Dorothy, you shouldn't be here." Em said slowly approaching her niece keeping the jester within her sight.
"Answer my question!" Dorothy.
"Dorothy, only the Teak's haven't been changed as far as we know, we don't know if ace or scarecrow are still alright." Em said taking a step back from her niece.
"Auntie Em, Uncle Henry, take the triplets." Dorothy said sniffing.
"Dorothy what?" Em started to ask.
"Do as she says!" the jester shouted.
Immediately Em ran over to henry and both of them picked up the triplets. They then turned to Dorothy and looked at her worriedly. Dorothy was looking at the jester with a rather confused look. If he knew what she was doing then why wasn't he stopping her? The jester looked at her and gave her a look that said "if you're going to do it, do it already" Dorothy sniffed and then looked at her aunt and uncle.
"Send my aunt, uncle, and cousins, as well as the Teaks to munchkin land safely." Dorothy said clicking her heels together.
Immediately her family vanished. As did the ropes that were tied around her. Immediately after she found herself being lifted to her feet. She sighed. Her job was done. Just as her anger began to flush out of her and she picked up the scepter she began to feel faint and all of a sudden she released a large burst of energy and she blacked out.
Well, what has Dorothy gotten herself into now? Will the jester let her go? Or will this be her end? If the jester doesn't let her go what will happen to her? will the Teaks, Em, Henry, and the triplets make it to munchkin land safely? Find out in the next chapter/
