I'm back with chapter 26, so please R&R and I'l see you at the bottom of the page.
POV: Lucy, Lucy
Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail
The morning is bright and sunny, as usual, as I watch trees and houses pass by while the car continues to make its way down the road. It'break continuese, with both males from my household keeping quiet leaving me a bit antsy in the back seat, "You didn't have to drop me off, I could have just walked with Erza and Levy you know," I mumble leaning my elbow onto the car door and resting my head onto my closed fist.
"Now now, it's the first day of teh new schoo year. I just thought it would be nice dropping off my granddaughter on her first day of school," Makarov states from the passenger seat, "It's just like when I used to drop off your mother on her first days of school when she was your age," I perk up a bit at the mention of my deceased mother feeling the nostalgia hangning in the air.
My heart tightes a bit at a thought, "You hardly ever talk about my mother," I whisper, but my grandfather hears me, there's no doubt in that, "Dad hardly ever even mentioned her back home. It was almost as if she never existed,"
"It's such a painful topic for your father," Makarov says sounding old and tired, "It's not something any of us can talk about freely without feeling a nail hammer into our hearts," he sighs and turns to look at me with a small smile that doesn't really reach his eyes, "But I'll tell you this for now, she used to always be excited for me to drive her to school on the first day of school. 'It's tradition' she always used to say," after that i try to brighten up my mood a bit while watching the last of the tree covered road open up to show Fairy Tail Academy in full view ready to accept us for our first day of school.
I look over my schedule while pulling out my books for my first class of the year. I stuff my schedule into the pocket of my navy-blue uniform skirt and head on over towards my first class waving and greeting everyone I know. It doesn't take long for me to find my class, English III, and when I enter the class the room is as loud and rowdy as ever.
Just about everyone that i had class with last year is in the room and seated at their usual seats that they sat in last year. It doesn't take long for me to find Levy near the back of the room and when I head on over her way I stop short at teh person sitting next to the seat I aim to claim. He has spiky pink, or is it salmon, hair that slightly covers his familiar heated amber eyes. His arms are crossed over his chest making him look bored and irritated with the bottom of his face covered under his pure white scarf. His hard eyes shift their attention towards me and I feel a chill run up my spine as his glare intensifies making me feel uncomfortable.
Ducking my head and feeling my cheeks burn up in embarrassment, I tentatively take the seat next to his doing my best to keep from looking on over at him. Levy chatters On in front of me with Lisanna sitting to her right and Erza behind her. I try to pay attention to their conversation but I can't help feel that the stranger next to me continue to stare in my direction, but it could all just be my imagination.
An ice-cold hand lands on my unhurt shoulder and I jump finding Gray sending me an amused grin, "Nice to see you again Heartfelia," he says and bows his head slightly towards the girls while smoothly saying, "Ladies," causing the girls to roll their eyes at him, "How's the arm," He then asks jutting his chin toward my cast covered arm.
"Hey Gray," I say feeling a little more comfortable with my attention away from the stranger right next to me, "My arms fine, just one more month before they take it off," I say while gingerly pulling at the strap of my sling, "How was your summer?" I then ask even though I saw him only a few weeks ago at the bash, but I actually barely even got to talk to him at the time.
He shrugs as if it were nothing, "Not much, just spent most of my summer working at the ice-cream parlor downtown and I also got a visit from my family who came down from Iceberg," he says, his smile faltering a bit at the mention of his family.
"You're from Iceberg?" I ask, a bit surprised, and he nods as if it were nothing at all. I've heard of Iceberg before from my father. It's a very cold country which is mostly made up of steep mountains in where the citizens all live at and they hardly ever get a warm spring, much less a hot summer. It's so cold there that you could throw a cup of water in the air and it will imediately crystalize. My father also told me that the citizens there are so used to the cold that some even go outside naked, which now explains Gray's peculiar striping habits.
"Born and raised," he admits with a broad smile, "I moved down to Fiore on a foreign exchange program and landed in Magnolia by chance while my brother Lyon landed over at Lamia Scale. After we both settled into our new homes we haven't gone back home,"
I'm about to ask another question when a chorus of shushes resonates around the room indicating that the teacher is already in the class or nearby. With a final wave, Gray moves on towards his seat in front of the new stranger giving him a friendly high-five in which makes both teens smirk. The pink haired teen smiles a half smile and when he turns to look at me it disappears almost immediately into a glower in which I duck my head feeling caught. Somehow this feels all too familiar to me, but I shake the thought away as I feel my cheeks burn in embarrassment as i try to keep my eyes to the front of the class to find a green-haired man writing down his name on the board at the front of the class.
"Welcome to English III," his monotonous voice says carrying over the silent whispers of the class as the figure continue to write on the board, "My name is Freed Justine and I will be your English teacher for the rest of the seester."
When he turns around I nearly gasp at the sight before me. Instead of a rigid blue eye looking back at me, an ominous black eye with a purple iris stares back at me and fear strikes me like a flying arrow, but when I blink the balck eye returns to its normal white and blue. I look around to see the expressions of the students around me but no one seems to have seen the strange image I just saw leaving me feeling completely silly. Even as I beat myself over how ridiculous I was acting I can't help feeling my heart hammering like a scurrying farret race in my chest. My mouth is also dry and it's extremely hard to swallow as I try to listen to Mr. Justine continue on with his lesson, but my anxiety only continues as the class drags on. I actually spend the rest of my first black clutching my pencil for dear life while trying to avoid from running out of the room screaming at the top of my lungs.
Why do I feel like this and why does this feeling feel so familiar?
Two words, Paradise Lost. So I'm extremely sorry for the , major delay. I had to write a seven page essay on John Milton's Paradise Lost and how his life related to the story. If you guys have to ever read this story just run, run I say.
On other news, i am finally on thanksgiving break and so if I don't get too busy i'll be posting up a new chapter every day for the week, so keep your fingers crossed.

And to my Fantabulous reviewers...
richgirl555cub - as usual, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
MeGustaZeref - Lucy's in her own little world right now, but soon enough she'll start noticing things again, and it's good to read my replies to the others, you never know what you're going to find.
CelestialWizard - I'm glad that you enjoy my sory and I know, it's heartbreaking to see Natsu watching from the sidelines.
mariah. carmichael.3 - That is exactly what I plan to do, and actually in two chapters from now we'll have a small confrontation between Natsu and Makarov, so look out for that because a small secret is about to be let out.
Owl's Song - Of course I'm not going to end it with Lucy never remembering Natsu, I'm crazy but not insane. I want them together just as much as you do. *Points to the sky with conviction* This story will have a happy ending, this I swear.
FanFictionLeon - I liked writing Natsu's POV too, especially when I wrote the line, "...as two fireworks dance up into the air in a romantic spiral before exploding into shades ofpink and gold," I don't know if you noticed that but I wrote it for a reason. Can you tell what it symbolizes?*Wink*
Well that's all the shout outs for today.
