Meanwhile back at Angela's cottage

After about thirty minutes of waiting for her dress to dry Dorothy began to nod off in an armchair. Angela however seemed to be a little bit nervous while she was doing some embroidery work. As Dorothy fell asleep out of boredom Angela got up and walked over to the cottage window and looked out. She had the feeling that someone else was out in the woods. She sighed and took her cloak off the hook and put it on. She then took her umbrella in hand and looked back at Dorothy. She whispered one of the few spells she had mastered and then turned and left the cottage knowing Dorothy would be safe. However as soon as the door to the cottage was shut the scepter began glowing unusually bright and a gold glow began to envelope Dorothy. Immediately her eyes snapped open and the scepters light faded. Dorothy looked around and then got the feeling that she was alone. She got up and stretched before listening around. All she could hear was the sound of her own breathing, the sound of the wood burning in the fireplace, and the rain. She sighed checked on her dress. It still wasn't dry enough but it was getting there. She sighed again and then looked over to the door where the scepter was. Angela's cloak and umbrella were gone so Dorothy assumed that she had just gone out for a walk or something.

"Well Dorothy, once again it's just you and your thoughts." Dorothy said sitting back down in the chair.

Meanwhile in the forest

Ellie and Alex had stopped in the middle of a clearing they had found in order to get their bearings and think for a moment. Alex had tried to look around the area and almost instantly walked into a tree. Ellie giggled before helping him up and looking around.

"Alex, I think we should wait for a break in the storm." Ellie said as she turned back to Alex to see him with a hand over his forehead and right eye.

"Okay for once I agree, but only because I'm pretty sure I just gave myself a black eye." Alex said leaning against the tree he had walked into.

Ellie giggled again but then fell silent and still. Alex looked at ellie worried before he heard the sounds of footsteps.

"Alex I told you there were people who live in these woods right?" Ellie asked curiously

"Yes, I really hope that it's a person who seems to be heading in our direction and not one of the jester's minions." Alex said

"Me too." Ellie said looking around.

"Well, we won't know until we get their attention, anyways, you have your wand, not that you know how to use it." Alex said.

"Hey I know some spells, anything to get us out of a jam." Ellie said.

"Anyways, let's try to get their attention and hope they're nice and not one of the jester's minions sent to trap us." Alex said.

"You do know that Locasta never had the chance to lift her spell off of you right?" Ellie asked.

"Excuse me, did I hear you right? Did you say Locasta?" came a female voice.

"Um, yes she did." Alex replied.

"Oh thank goodness, any friend of Locasta is a friend of mine." Came the voice.

"Well can you show yourself?" Ellie asked nervously.

Immediately the footsteps drew closer and Angela came into the clearing. Ellie and Alex let out a sigh of relief as Alex walked up to the woman.

"Sorry if we are interrupting your walk or trespassing but we're looking for someone and my friend Ellie was thinking that some of you people who live here in the woods might have seen her." Alex said

Angela said nothing, she merely turned to Ellie and walked over to her. She took Ellie's chin in her hand and tilted the girls head.

"Fair skin, pure blue eyes, you're Ellie upland, Glinda's younger sister." Angela said.

"That's correct mam, now, please have you seen our friend, we're looking for her, have you seen anyone land around here?" Ellie asked before taking a step back from the woman.

"I might have, but that depends on why you're looking for them." Angela said.

"She ran off, well flew off I guess." Alex said.

"We saw her fly off in this direction, and Alex and I have managed to get lost." Ellie said as she slid her wand from her sleeve.

"And this fool had enough sense to try and find a way away and ended up walking into a tree?" Angela asked turning to Alex.

"Yes mam." Alex replied,

"Which would explain why you have a black eye forming, well to answer your question yes I have met someone, she's staying at my cottage, I have instructions to keep her safe until tomorrow." Angela replied.

"Who from." Ellie said pointing her wand at Angela.

"From Lady Cassandra." Angela replied.

"How do you know Lady Cassandra?" Alex asked.

"She's my sister, now come on, I'll take you to my cottage, and you'll find your friend there." Angela said signaling for them to follow.

Alex and Ellie shared a glance and shrugged before following Angela.

Meanwhile back at the forest cottage.

Dorothy had spent the last ten minutes sitting and thinking. She knew she was going to really get scolded when she got back to the munchkin city in the morning. She was prepared to be scolded for running off and putting herself in danger. However her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the door opening and a rush of cold air. Immediately she turned and saw Angela and to her surprise Ellie and Alex.

"Dorothy!" Alex shouted as he ran over to her.

"Alex, Ellie, what are you two doing here?" Dorothy asked

"Glinda and the others sent us to follow after you, we managed to get lost though before this woman found us." Ellie said.

"And your friend here managed to give himself a black eye." Angela said.

"Thank you Angela, I imagine he managed to walk into a tree?" Dorothy asked as she and Alex embraced.

"Right, don't rub it in dear." Alex said

"Wait a minute, you should have stayed asleep, that's one of the few spells I can do, dreamless sleep, what happened?" Angela asked curiously.

"Probably the scepter I'd assume, it tends to act on its own accord, but it serves its purpose" Dorothy said,

"So it woke you up? Is that what I'm to understand?" Angela asked in a confused tone.

"Well you don't have to believe it." Dorothy replied.

"I'm not saying I don't believe you, but I've never heard of such a thing." Angela said.

"Dorothy, I know we can't leave till morning but do you mind if I contact the others?" Ellie asked curiously

Dorothy shook her head. Ellie rummaged through her pockets. Eventually she produced a potion bottle and walked over to a standing mirror and splashed the potion onto the mirror. After a moment or two the mirror began to ripple and the scene of the living room in the mayor's mansion.

'Look, Mr. Teak, it's not that we don't agree with you and we will find a suitable punishment for Dorothy, but first I want to know why she ran off." Came Glinda's voice

"Sis, we found Dorothy." Ellie said into the mirror.

Immediately the room fell silent and everyone turned to the mirror. Em and henry ran over to the mirror. Dorothy sighed and walked over to the mirror so that everyone could see her.

"Dorothy, thank goodness you're alright." Em and henry said in unison.

"Auntie Em, uncle henry, I'm so sorry I ran off like I did, I guess I just sort of lost it." Dorothy said.

"But what caused it?" Glinda asked curiously.

" Glinda, if you want me to be completely honest it was that argument I cause between you and Locasta, I brought up the subject of the accident, so I felt responsible for what happened." Dorothy said

"Oh Dorothy…" Glinda said trailing off.

"And whatever punishment you guys have for me, I'll accept it like a responsible adult." Dorothy said sighing.

"That alright dear, but where are you?" Em asked curiously.

"At Lady Angela's house, she Cassandra's sister, she was apparently given instructions to keep me here until morning." Dorothy replied.

"That is correct my dear child." Cassandra said hobbling into view.

"But why does she have to wait till morning?" Em asked curiously.

"Because the woods she's in are under a special spell that I created, keep the untrustworthy at bay, once you enter that area of the forest, a small clearing, you must wait for sunrise till you can try and find your way out again, otherwise you shall just end up back in the clearing." Cassandra replied.

"Then how was Angela able to lead us to her cottage?" Ellie asked curiously

"Because her limited knowledge of sorcery allows her to counteract it to the point of her cottage but that's as far as she can go." Cassandra said.

"Fair enough." Ellie said as the mirror began to ripple.

"We're running out of time to chat, Dorothy, well talk to you tomorrow, Alex, Ellie, make sure she doesn't do anything dumb." Glinda said as the mirror faded.

Dorothy sighed and turned to Alex. He smiled and walked over to her. He then embraced her and kissed her. This caused Dorothy to blush. Angela and Ellie couldn't help but chuckle. Dorothy turned to them and smiled. She then returned the embrace with Alex.

"Well we have until the morning before we can leave, what should we do to pass the time?" Ellie asked.

Dorothy and Alex shared a glance and shrugged. Dorothy sighed and walked over to the rocking chair she had been sitting in. she was glad that her friends were with her to keep her company, but now she knew she was definitely not on the to be trusted side of things. Alex walked over to the chair and placed his hand on Dorothy's arm. She looked up at him and smiled. Ellie smiled and walked over to Angela. She spent some time explaining to her about Alex and Dorothy. Angela nodded and smiled before heading back upstairs. Alex looked at Ellie who smiled and walked out of view. Alex smiled and leaned over. He then kissed Dorothy on the cheek. Dorothy smiled and blushed. She turned to him and giggled. She then got up and checked on her dress. It was dry enough to wear at this point, it was still a little damp, but dry enough to wear it comfortably. She took her dress and shirt off the rack and looked at Alex who nodded and got up. As soon as he was out of view Dorothy quickly changed out of the night gown and into her dress.

"Alex, it's safe to come back in now." Dorothy called,
