Disclaimer, you know
If anyone slept that night it certainly wasn't Alex or Ellie. Ellie was sitting awake closing her eyes every now and again to watch things through Glinda's eyes. she was getting a clear view of Dorothy through Glinda's eyes. Dorothy was fine for now but she didn't know how much longer that would last. Alex was lying on a bed with an ice pack on his head and pockets sitting on his chest and Toto sitting on the foot of the bed.
"Dorothy's alright, for now, until she's been changed back." Ellie said as they both heard the clock strike two in the morning.
"Ellie, you've been saying that, for, well most of the night and most of the morning." Alex said.
"Sorry." Ellie replied
"it's alright, but I thought I may as well point it out after hearing it so many times." Alex replied.
"I see, well, uh-oh." Ellie said closing her eyes.
"what uh-oh?" Alex asked.
"the jester has gone up to them." Ellie said worriedly.
"if he hurts her I'll kill him." Alex said.
"Okay we both know that's up to Dorothy to do, oh dear , he's grabbed her by the scruff again." Ellie replied.
"what is he doing to her!?" Alex said sitting up and nearly throwing pockets off of him.
Meanwhile at the palace.
"what are you going to do to her?" Glinda asked
"Nothing if you both behave and cooperate." The jester said taking the rope that was wrapped around Glinda and yanking her to her feet.
The jester led them both to the throne room. as they entered Dorothy's blood ran cold. The sight was that of her friends each one having been turned into a marionette. Eliza, tin man, lion, and many others.
"do you like it?" The jester asked teasingly.
Dorothy was beginning to shiver at this point. she turned to Glinda who had become a ghostly pale.
"w-why?" Dorothy finally managed to stutter out.
"Puppets are easy to manipulate, they show no emotion, feel no pain, nothing, they're just puppets, under my control." The jester said setting Dorothy down on a nearby table.
"And that's what's going to become of us once you change me back?" Dorothy asked curiously.
"no, I have better plans for you." The jester said pulling out the potion vial.
"Like what?" Dorothy asked worriedly.
"Don't worry, you'll see." The jester said turning away from her and letting go of Glinda's rope.
"what about Glinda?" Dorothy asked worriedly.
"Dorothy, it doesn't matter what happens to me…" Glinda started to say before Dorothy cut her off.
"Glinda, shut up, it always matters to me, and I care about all of you, don't you say that it's only me that matters, I care about all of you and I don't want to see any of you get hurt!" Dorothy shouted at her
"now, now, no arguing please, sunrise will be in a few hours and that's when I shall administer the potion, now Glinda, do I have to give her this whole thing?" the jester asked holding up the vial.
"no, just a small dose will do." Glinda said looking away from him.
"well thank you for that bit of help." The jester replied,
"but you do know what will happen once she's back to her owld self again don't you?" Glinda asked.
"yes, the scepter and the slippers will come to her, she'll be able to use them." the jester said as his tone became more menacing.
"What are you going to do, tie her up, and keep her from clicking her heels together?" Glinda asked curiously.
"knowing him it's nothing ever so straight forward." Dorothy said.
"Actually, I could just cut your feet off and solve the issue entirely." The jester said.
"You wouldn't!" Glinda and Dorothy shouted in unison.
"no, I wouldn't, jeez cant you take a joke?" the jester asked chuckling.
"Then what are you going to do?" Dorothy asked curiously.
"Like always, the slippers wont work here, the scepter however will, it will be weakened, but it will still be able to come here, however once you're human again, you do know what the scepter and the slippers coming here will bring don't you?" the jester asked turning to her.
"the others!" Glinda exclaimed.
"the scepter will try to come to you, and they will follow, to make sure it doesn't fall into my hands, the only thing I can do about the slippers is to make sure they don't work here." The jester said as the sound of a clock striking three reverberated through the palace.
Meanwhile back in munchkinland.
Ellie had decided to wake some of the others so they could come up with a plan while Alex stayed upstairs and got some rest.
"Ellie, there's no way we can do that, we'd have to do a full invasion." Terrance said sitting down in a chair.
"I know, and I also know that we wouldn't stand a chance either even if we did invade." Ellie replied as she turned to look at the crib that Dorothy's cousins were in.
"Ellie dear, you know there isn't any thing we can do, we'll just have to wait." Angela said as her sister nodded in agreement.
"There's always something that can be done." Ellie snapped out.
"Ellie, please, calm down, Dorothy and Glinda will be fine, you said that the jester wouldn't harm them as long as they cooperated with him." Aislynn said.
"Ace, please be quiet." Ellie said turning to her.
"Well what do you want us to do then?" Locasta asked.
"I don't know, I don't have a plan." Ellie said.
"Ellie, once more I repeat, you know we stand no chance, not even a rescue mission would be without casualties." Terrance said.
"Well I wont stand by as Dorothy and Glinda are in danger, I just wont." Ellie said
"Ellie, I'm sorry I have to do this." Locasta said raising her wand.
Ellie immediately retaliated and pulled out her own wand. Immediately she waved it and was surrounded by a bubble. Seconds later both Ellie and the bubble vanished with a small pop.
Well, that escalated quickly. Well, dear reviewers, what do you think will happen next? Where will Ellie wind up? and when will that promised music number happen? And will there actually be a different musical before no one is alone? Leave a guess in the reviews.
