I'm back with chapter 35 of my wonderful story. Please R&R and I shall see you at the bottom of the page.

POV: Natsu, Lucy,

Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail

I sigh as I cross my arms across my chest annoyed. I look around down below at the ballroom floor from where I'm sitting at our reserved table on the second floor balcony watching as people filter in a constant stream of colorful costumes. Halloween decorations cover every inch of the usually extravagant ballroom with strobe lights and black lights illuminating the room for split seconds of time. The music coming from the DJ booth down below causes the room to have a night club kind of feel and as I look on I can already spot a few couples dancing along to the techno beat.

Huffing angrily, I curse Gray every foul name I can think of for allowing him to convince me to come to this dumb party. I could have been home gorging myself with candy and catching up on the latest horror films that I haven't had time to watch like I do every year around this time. Instead I'm forced to come and 'mingle' with a bunch of teenagers that I don't even talk to, much less people I do talk to. And then to top it all bloody off I was forced to dress up in a ridiculous costume that Juvia picked out for me without my consent. I swear sometimes that that woman acts as if she were my mother.

The costume is just a long crimson colored coat with gold trimming and emroidery that looks like flames stitched onto it with a pair of dragnon's wings and tail stitched to the back of the coat. She said I was supposed to be some dragon king or something and even offered me a crown that I refused to wear. In the end she agreed that I didn't have to wear the crown but the costume was a whole other story and now I'm stuck wearing it for the rest of the night unless I have a severe death wish from the girl we dubbend the 'rain woman' for how cold and bitter she sometimes gets. So now I'm here at a party I already didn't want to go to wearing a costume that I didn't want to wear and sitting with a bunch of people that I am already considering dumping as friends. There's also the fact that I can't leave the party until midnight which gives me four hours to nothing but brood and constantly curse those around me.

"Yo, Salamander, liven up," Gajeel says as he pounds his massive hand against my back and I turn to glare at him with all the fury that's burning inside of me. If I were a real dragon I'd totally scorch him with my fiery breath.

Looking at him, he's dressed up as Frankenstein's monster with every inch of exposed skin painted in different shades of green and gray with painted black lines that act as the stitches that supposedly hold him all together. He also has two bolts on the sides of his neck and his usually spiky hair is as spiky as ever. He's wearing a dirty two piece suite and large boots that make his feet look even bigger than usual and all in all he looks more like a dead hobo than an actual monster, but he's probably kill me if I were to say that out loud so I think it's best if I stay quiet on the matter.

"Yeah Natsu, the party isn't all that bad. It's actually pretty amazing don't you think?" Levy chimes in cheerily next to Gajeel and she's wearing just about the same getup as Gajeel only she's wearing a dress instead of a suite. Her usually tame hair is brushed into a wild mane around her head and I can see streaks of white that kind of blend in to her hair, but at least she doesn't look like a dead hobo like her boyfriend. Before I can say anything regarding to her comment, she immediately stands up with her gaze down near the entrance to the ballroom and cheers, "LU IS HERE," before rushing away from our table and running on down the stairs to the first floor leaving us a bit dumbstruck.

Looking over the edge of the railing that I'm currently leaning on I scan the crowd of dancing bodies losing sight of Levy almost immediately. I eventually spot her standing next to Yukino, who's dressed up as a belly dancer, and watch the girls wondering if Lucy came after all or not. I'm starting to guess on the latter when a flash of bright blonde hair catches my eye through the thick crowd.

Down below in the middle of the dance floor under the dancing lights I see Lucy standing along with Erza and Cana. Cana is dressed up as a classical gypsy, earlier she tried to convince me to let her read my cards but I declined, and Erza is dressed as some sort of Japanese warrior with her chest wrapped up securely in gauze with her long legs covered in loose fitting pants that have orange flames painted on the bottom. To me their costumes look simple next to Lucy's who's wearing a long pink two piece ball gown. The skirt splits down the front of her dress revealing another layer of a lighter pink fabric underneath and a long white sash is tied around the ball gown skirt with a large bow tied at her left side. There's a lot of frill trimming around the dress and her long frilly sleeves hang off her shoulders. Her hair is in a braided half-updo with her loose hair all curled and cascades down her bare shoulders just barely covering the frill choker around her neck.

She looks absolutely breath-taking and in the back of my mind I start to think that this party might not be so bad after all.

I internally groan as I try to make my way through the thick crowd of people that bump into me every so often as I tug on the skirts of my dress so that I don't trip and fall and most possibly get trampled on. Last week I wasn't able to decide on what to wear after I had told Yukino that I'd come to the party and after hours of ransacking my closet and seeing how little money I had on me I finally got the idea to dress up as a princess, because, you know, why not? Better yet I could dress up like the princess from Levy's story, which is exactly what I did. I mean, I already had the keys so all I would need would be a dress, which thankfully I had a lot back at home in Crocus. So all I did was call up the head maid and asked her to pick one of the many dresses I owned and send it to my grandfather's house whenever she had the chance. I probably should have been more specific to Mrs. Spetto on which dress I wanted and ended up having her send me the flashiest ball gown I owned. One that not even back at home I liked wearing.

Sighing deeply, I continue to push through the dancing bodies of teenagers wondering where on Earthland Yukino had disappeared to. She had been right next to me when we arrived after dropping Wendy off at home and she disappeared sometime after I bumped into both Erza and Cana not too long ago. She probably went off to find Levy and the others right when I stopped to tak to the girls and now I don't know where to find her.

As I continue searching I feel a hand wrap around my wrist behind me and I turn to find Natsu looking at me with his usual dull look. He leans down by my ear and I suddenly feel self-conscious on how close he is, "Levy's looking for you," He says over the loud beat of the roaroing music and without another word he starts to lead me away from the crowd towards the edge of the dance floor. His hand is warm in mine as he drags me along behind him and I'm somewhat surprised that he's even here at all. So far that I've known Natsu, which is only about a month or so, he doesn't seem like one that would show up to party of this calliber, at least not willingly. There's also the fact that he came to get me when I'm sure, from the experience of the past weeks, he doesn't have a liking to me.

I guess I learn something new every day.

"LUCY!" I'm torn from my thoughts when I feel a pair of skinny arms wrap around me and I barely have time to brace myself from the impact, "You look amazing," Levy squeals while taking my free hand in hers and I quickly spot Yukino walking away behind her towards a table full of boys that I don't quite recognize, "It's from the story isn't it?" She asks after she spots my keys that are strapped to a leather belt that is tucked under the top of my dress and I nod. Her eyes widen when she looks over at Natsu and then at our adjoined hands and her smile quickly turns sly as she leans into me, "And I see that you even found your dragon prince."

Confused at what she's telling me, I turn to look over at Natsu and notice what he's wearing. Levy's right, he does look like a dragon prince with the long crimson coat and the ruby dragon wings and tail attached to his back and the look sort of suites him. I also notice that he's still holding onto my hand and instantly feel my cheeks burn at the realisation of this.

Natsu grumbles something under his breath and quickly releases his hold on me and stuffs both his hands into the pockets of his coat and walks away from us towards Gajeel who is smiling cunnignly at the pinkette. Of course Natsu just glares at him and looks away with his cheeks dusted a light pink.

"So what do you think of the party?" Levy asks me as she links her arm with mine before leading me away from the guys that seem to be having a glaring contest with one another and I take the time to take in my surroundings.

Looking around the grand ballroom I take in all the decorations that hang from the upper balconies railings like spiders, cobwebs, and hanging skeletons. crawling up the massive pillars that hold up the roof are giant spiders and even more cobwebs and plastic vines that wrap around like coiling snakes. All over the walls there's ripped up black cloth and a few trademark halloween decorations that they usually sell in dollar stores and the whole dance floor is set up like one massive graveyard. There's even smoke machines that cover the dance floor in a thick fog that seems to cling to the skirts of my dress and even pours down from the second floor. The overhead strobe lights flash like lightning and green and red disco lights dance around over the dancing teenagers making it a little hard to see. On the tables that we pass by I notice the table toppers are a huge purple candle that gives off very little light and candy seems to be strewn everywhere while the punch in most of the neon plastic cups seems to look like actual blood. This is the first party that I've gone to where someone goes all out and it surely out does the boring business dinners that dad sometimes take me to back in Crocus. Hell, it even beats the party we were invited to at the Fiore castle A few years back.

"This party is amazing," I yell over to Levy as we continue to walk on around the dance floor, "But it's a little too loud."

Levy laughs and nods along with me, but other than that doesn't say anything as she continues to lead me around and introducing me to a few people that I haven't met before. I'm pretty sure this will surely be a night to remember.

It's funny how true that statement is.

So once again I had a writer's block. Like I knew what I wanted in this chapter but I just couldn't put it down in words. It got really frustrating that I had to close my laptop several times just so that I could find a way to move out of that block. Eventually during the weekend I locked myself in my room and suddenly this popped up. It was actually longer and I decided to cut it into three parts so here's part one of the three. The next chapter however is going to be more intense and a cunning villain will finally show his true colors.

I hope you liked it and I had a little fun with Lucy's and Natsu's costume. I actually got the idea from a picture I saw through bing a few months back when I was searching for a cover photo. I'll put a link of it on my empty profile thingy if you guys want to check it out, although the only thing from the picture that I didn't add was Lucy's hair which I took from a different picture. If you want to see it go on over to my bio and you can check the pics there.

Also, who's been keeping up with the manga and anime? If you're watching the latest episodes of the anime tell me what you think of the 'celestial ark' that's happening, and if you've been keeping up with the manga you'll understand in what pain I am in. I'm litterally still crying, and if you ask I will give out spoilers, but trust me when I say they're not pretty.

On other news, Senior year is super messed up and senioritis is hitting hard with a heavy dose of Laziness. Children, don't look forward to senior year... it's not worth it.
