The jester had spent most of the night planning his trap for them as the third day approached. The trap needed to be obvious but not too obvious that they would just walk by it without noticing it.
"How should I trap your friends? What should I do?" the jester asked turning away from the crystal ball.
"Do." Dorothy found herself repeating.
The jester sighed and turned back to the crystal ball. As the sun was beginning to rise he would be able to set his trap. He turned to Dorothy again and then chuckled.
"I know, what happened to that green orb the one you use for the scepter?" the jester asked curiously.
"Scepter." Dorothy repeated
The jester sighed and turned back the crystal ball. He then turned to the scepter and began to wonder. He then waved the scepter over the crystal ball.
"Lightning flash and thunder clap, find what I need for this trap." The jester said.
Immediately with a crash of thunder the crystal ball's image changed to the image of the clearing. Floating in the center of it was the wasn't glowing, it was just floating there. The jester smiled and waved the scepter over the crystal ball, a split second later the orb appeared in his hand. Dorothy now grew really concerned. That's how he was going to trap them, place the orb in a place where someone would noticed. The jester smiled and placed the orb on the table. Waving the scepter over it, it immediately began glowing in its usual fashion. He chuckled and raised the scepter for another spell.
"Lighting flash and thunder clap, send the orb to set the trap!" the jester shouted.
Immediately a ball of light flew out of the scepter and hit the orb causing it to vanish. The trap was set and now all there was for him to do was wait. Or in his case, take a nap. Which he decided to do while he waited.
Okay I know this chapter was short but I needed a Segway for the next chapter, the trap, thing of this a prologue to the chapter.
