POV: Natsu

"Anything?" Makarov asks anxiously as he stands on the nearby table with his arms crossed across his tiny chest while his foot taps impatiently.
"Nothing," Juvia sighs as her fingers dance over the laptop's keys at an alarming speed, "It says here that the blood we found is Kageyama's, but I'm more than certain that it isn't his."
"Then who's is it? Who could have broken into this place without leaving so much as a trace?" Laxus practically explodes from where he's standing next to his grandfather. He's so tense that the veins on his forehead look about ready to burst.
"I'm not sure if you remember that we don't have a security system," I mutter from where I'm leaning against the wall near the front of the room, "We wouldn't be having this problem if you would have allowed Gajeel to install the security system months ago."
Both Dreyar men shoot me menacing glares that keep me from commenting further.
We've been searching the whole HQ from top to bottom trying to figure out who broke in and how they were able to escape without leaving a trace. All the clues we had was only a brass key that unlocked one of the doors we were all forbidden from entering and droplets of blood outside of Kageyama's cell.
Makarov had tried interrogating the raven haired male, but he wouldn't say a word. He still hasn't said anything and all he does is sit in his cell and stare at the floor dumbly. Once while we were collecting the blood samples that we had found he had looked up at us and stared directly at me before quickly looking away.
No matter how hard you try you're going to end up losing her.
His previous words weigh down on me like a bad omen and I haven't been able to shake off the unease he planted within me. Even now I can feel wary at his cryptic words and all I want is to go and demand Kageyama to tell me what he meant. It's impossible though. Makarov hasn't allowed any of us to return to the room and even had the lock changed so we would break in. Other than that he's having all of the prisoners that we have locked up to be moved over to Lamia Scale by the end of this week, so there won't be a chance for me to go and talk to him alone.
"Hey," Gray's voice has us all turning to where he's sitting lazily in the nearby couch, "Isn't Lucy at home all alone right now," He asks with concern.
"Jellal and Loke went over to take care of her while I was on my way here," Laxus says still looking ticked off, "I told them to tell her that there had been an incident at the gym so Makarov and I would probably get home late."
We all nod and I feel a little more relaxed knowing that Lucy isn't alone. Although, her being with Loke doesn't sit all that well with me, but better him than any of the Eisenwald creeps.
"Did they at least take anything of real value," Gajeel asks exasperatedly from his recliner only a few feet away from me.
"No," Juvia groans while rubbing her face tiredly, "Other than the documents I had hidden nothing else is missing and that's what has me more confused than anything else." We look at her not really comprehending what she means, "Think about it," she sighs giving us all a look that seems to be calling us idiots, "Why would they take documents that were under lock and key when they could have easily taken all of the documents just sitting around. Also, why would they go into the prison chamber when they knew they could get caught easily? Plus, how were they able to escape when Natsu had them completely cornered in a room with no escape route?"
Everyone mulls this over and it isn't before long that Gajeel clears his throat catching out attention, "Maybe it was a Poltergeist." We stare at him dumbly clearly showing that none of us had thought about that, "I mean, don't most poltergeists have powers that allow them to get away without being detected?" he asks while crossing his heavily pierced arms across his chest, "For all we know they could have somehow followed one of us here to HQ and after weeks, maybe even months, of planning they snuck into Makarov's house, stole the key, broke in here to steal the documents and somehow ended up in the prison chambers when they were trying to escape."
He had a point. Unlike regular astral bodies, Poltergeists had an unusually strong power that helped them escape us. It's a pain to fight against a poltergeist seeming as they were dangerous with that strange power they possessed. Usually when we face off against a poltergeist we have to take even more extreme measures because we never know when one of us might get seriously hurt, especially when dealing against dark poltergeists like Eisenwald who only live by defying us and wreaking havoc wherever they go.
"We'll keep on investigating. In the mean time you all should just go on home seeming as you all still have school tomorrow," Makarov says earning a groan from all of us except Juvia and Laxus.
We don't complain much as we all head on over to the door which thankfully now has a lock that can only be open with the tattoos we have hidden on our visage. Gajeel installed it the instant he heard what had happened this morning and already programmed each and every one of us onto the systems memory. He also installed security cameras in just about every corner of every room which meant that I wouldn't be able to skip school here anymore. I'd have to look for a new place to hide out during school hours.
"Natsu," I stop when I reach the open door and turn to look over at Makarov who is watching me with stern eyes, "Make plans along with Gajeel to attend this weekend's match at Balsam Village. I'm expecting you both to be on guard duty in case anything goes awry." I nod and without another word I'm out the door.
I know that this is a short chapter, but it's mainly a filler leading up to the next climax. I still hope you all enjoyed this chapter anyway.

- Splendora Lopez = I'm happy to hear that you're enjoying my story, and thank you. I had forgotten about the blood until you pointed it out. As you might have read I had Kageyama tamper with the blood with his powers. BTW, something I forgot to mention is that the chains that are holding him down are kind of immune to his magic so to speak. So no matter how much power he uses against the chains they wont break.
