SHAMELESSLY BEGS FOR REVIEWS!
On with the story! ^0^
The timing couldn't have been worse. The strangely dressed man approached with a dark look in his eyes that made the hairs on Harrys neck stand on end. He shuffled backwards across the floor, his ears started ringing. As he had before, Voldermort projected his thoughts into their heads.
"You've fought valiantly, but in vain... I do not wish this. Every drop of magical blood spilled is a terrible waste. I therefore command my forces to retreat...In their absence, dispose your dead with dignity. Harry Potter, I now speak directly to you. On this night, you have allowed your friends to die for you, rather than face me yourself. There is no greater dishonor. Join me in the Forbidden Forrest and confront your fate.
If you do not do this, I shall kill every last man, woman and child who tries to conceal you from me."
Harry regained himself and forced himself to sit up. Their attacker was looking around as if searching for the source of the voice with a lollypop in his mouth, a frown marring his unusual yet slightly familiar features.
"Who are you?" Hermione asked shakily. The green haired man tilted his head to the side and raked over them with his eyes as if he had forgotten they existed.
"Amaimon, king of earth. Where's little brother? I smell his blood but his heart isn't here, I followed him here but he's gone again. Did you have anything too do with this?" He narrowed his eyes and bent down towards them as if trying to read their minds. Harry relaxed a little.
"You mean Rin? I thought he was the oldest. H-he's back there." He said, eyeing Amaimon curiously. He took note of his pointed fangs and ears and wondered why on earth someone would style their hair like that. Amaimon flitted into the other room with alarming speed silently into the other room and gasped, the sound of something hard like a marble hitting the floor echoed off the walls. Amaimon was back in front of him with an enraged expression.
"WHAT HAPPENED?" He growled. Harry cringed back but pointed his wand at the suspected demon. "Your tricks don't effect me, did you have a hand in this?" He hissed, edging closer.
"We had nothing to do with it! Voldermort used some sort of spell to take Rin's demon heart and put it into his wand." Ron shouted defensively. Amaimon halted and looked at the redhead to Harrys left and stood straight.
"We ...restrained him because Voldermort said when he woke up he would be purely demon after he took his heart, if we defeat Voldermort we can figure a way to...fix him." Hermione added. The king of earth scrutinised each of their faces looking for any trace of a lie before straightening and allowing them to stand. He crossed an arm and rested his chin on his hand thoughtfully.
"Little brother is powerful when he looses it and not even a hell king can stand up to fathers flames."
"Hell king?" Ron asked off handedly.
"There are seven kings of Gehenna who rule over their own kingdoms excluding father who rules over all of Gehenna. I am the king of earth. My kingdom is fairly weak to flames and if someone is using little brothers heart combined with human magic there won't be a lot I can do, earth doesn't stand too well against fire." The demon talked more to himself than the others as they gingerly stood up and dusted themselves off. "Big brother might get angry if I kill one of his precious humans." He continued.
"Voldermort is evil, he is the one who started this war but he can be killed, he has made himself immortal by splitting his soul and attached them to objects to keep himself earthbound. There is only one piece left that is in his snake and then we can kill him." Hermione explained knowledgeably. Amaimon tilted his head while staring off into space.
"I see why big brother finds humans so fascinating, not even demons are capable of splitting their souls into pieces, capable but not willing." He mused. Harry frowned at the scatterbrained demon and started towards the tunnel.
"We don't have time for this. Ron, Hermione, you go and tell everyone to look for the snake."
Amaimon watched the three peculiar humans run off. He noticed the odd smell he noticed on little brother when he first encountered him. If he didn't do something big brother wouldn't allow him to play games anymore and the humans where already working on finding the last piece of the evil humans soul. If they where going to fight someone weilding demons powers, they could probably use exorcists as back up because these humans didn't have a clue.
With resolution brewing in his mind and a plan even big brother might be proud off he set off at top speed down the tunnel the humans had gone, didn't stop to apologise as he pushed them out of his way half way down the tunnel and headed towards the castle. The girl with bushy hairs words tethered at the back of his mind, particularly how the evil man had split his soul in two.
'Strange,' he mused aloud. 'I sense the same soul in four places, maybe I'm just imagining things...'
Shura awoke slowly and groggily like she would from a night after one too many beers. She slowly opened her eyes and was pleased to find the room she was in to be fairly dark, it must still be night time which was a good sign. The tranquilisers still weighing heavy on her senses, she pushed herself into a sitting position and looked around, happy to see her sword next to her and put it away in its confinement. She was laying on a stretcher in the half destroyed Grand Hall. The tables where absent and instead it looked like the huge room was being used as a temporary infirmary. She sat in a row of people, some unconcious, some sitting upright and some moaning and being treated by anyone with healer credentials. There where easily over a hundred people laying down, many more fussing around and further away to one side sectioned off from the rest where a number of people laying who had family and friends gather around, their faces grief stricken. She turned away, not wanting to think about how many had died and forced herself too her feet. Madam Pomfry walked along the lines of injured with an apraising look.
"You shouldn-" she started.
"It's just a tranquilizer, I'll be fine." She insisted as she took slow, concentrated strides towards McGonagall who stood with Flitwick, Sprout and another man she knew was named Kingsley.
"What's happened, give me a briefing. " she said sharply as she attracted their attention. They gave her grave looks but nodded and McGonagall cleared her throat.
"Voldermort called for a seize fire, he has given us an hour and demanded that Harry go to him or everyone will be killed, Harry is too good for his own good and will most likely go to him as instructed. Nobody has seen him for a while now." She said worriedly, out of character for the usually stern and professional teacher.
"And what about Rin?" She asked. McGonagall's eyes flashed with something unidentifiable. "Well?"
"The last time he was seen he burst into flames and ran off, a student breifly recalls seeing him run through the school but to where, nobody knows." Shura frowned at the news, he should be here.
"What exactly did the student see?" She pressed.
"They said they saw him running to one of the upper floors covered in black flames holding a katana with a blue handle. I overheard him telling you how he couldn't use his flames before the battle began and as nobody we know of can weild flames we asumed that was him." She said. Shura raised an eyebrown in confusion.
"The brats flames are blue, not black..." Shura puzzled. Before she could ask for more details a familiar green headed demon king rushed into the room at an alarming speed and came to a sudden stop in front of her. She had momentarily reached for the seal on her chest but the demons worried expression stopped her.
"Can you call big brother? We need more exorcists." He said before she could say anything. The expression on the Amaimons face was enough to put her into arch knight mode in an instance.
"What's going on?" She demanded and lead the hell king away to a quiet corner.
"Voldermort has taken control of little brothers demon heart and put it into his wand and some humans don't think he will stay human when he wakes up, they think he will be able to control little brother aswell. The humans have destroyed all but one piece of Voldermorts heart and are going to kill him, we can steal his wand and I'm sure big brother will be able to fix little brother. If someone else controls him these humans won't be able to do anything." He said quickly. Shura let the jumbled words sink in, taking a little longer than usual as her mind was still running slowly due to the tranq darts and nodded.
"I'll send for backup. You go to the kid and keep him occupied, try and keep him away from here while we clean things up. If you can't keep him down, he is still wearing the imprisonment binding so I can knock him out but let's hope it doesn't come to that. Go." She commanded while the demon stood idoly. She fished through the pockets in her shorts for her phone and he left without further word. Relieved to find her phone undamaged and with power and reception she sought out 'clown' in her contacts and hit dial. It rang five times before the demon answered.
"What could possibly be so important that you'd call-"
"Not the time Mephisto. Voldermort is using Rin's demon heart as a weapon." She said curtly, barely keeping her temper in check. She thanked her stars for sending reports to the clown on everything she knew so she didn't have to spell it out. There was a moment of silance before,
"That is an interesting developement indeed, what do you propose we do?" The chairman asked in a singsong tone, Shura's blood curdled.
"What do you think? Send Angel, Lightening and as many upper first class exorcists as you can! This guy may be human but he ain't no joke! Amaimon said Voldermort might be able to control Rin aswell." She spat, furious at the demons lack of recignition at the urgency of the situation.
"And what of the Harcruxes?" He asked, his casual tone never faltering.
"One left, I don't know what it is but Harry and his friends know, unforgivable number one that is."
"Oh is he still alive? I must request an audiance with our little chosen one so I can personally congrate him for staying alive for so-"
"QUIT IT! No more of yer jokes! Send back up right this minute, you know the location." She snapped her phone shut and threw it on the ground in rage, not even regretting it as it crashed to the floor and shattered, earning her dark looks from surrounding witches and wizards. She walked back to where McGonagall stood crossed her arms. "Back up are on their way, Amaimon is keeping tabs on Rin but I can't tell you anymore about the deatheaters movements since when I was neutralised they disappeared. Has anyone seen Snape?" She demanded after reporting. The other teachers shook their heads, probably still not believing Snape was on their side. She sighed and stalked away, stretching her arms and working the rest of the stiffness away, the effects of the tranquilisers almost completely lifted. She was pretty useless here, best thing she could do is find her enchanted disguise robes and head to the forest and see what she could do.
Harry threw the resurrection stone onto the dark forest floor a little while later and the the comforting presences vanished as if they had never been there and he was truely alone. He took a shuddering breath and forced himself to walk forward to his inevitable death. If he lived, Voldermort lived. If he died, he trusted his friends to finish him off. He was a Horcrux, he had been raised to die at this moment. His head swayed with an impossible mix of emotions; fear, dread, determination, sadness and an unbearable loneliness. He felt like his soul was being torn two ways, one lead by his determination to do what is right to end this while the other begging him to run back to his friends, to figure out another way and keep fighting.
But there was no other way.
This was his destiny, captured in a prophecy foreseen by non other than his ex divination teacher Professor Trelwarny before he was even born. What he had uncovered merely minutes prior had... he couldn't discribe how it made him feel, think, see the world and all its cruelty, not just to himself but too everyone.
Human.
Creature.
Demon: and everything inbetween.
He heard voices in the distance as he walked quietly under the invisibility cloak. He must be getting closer. When he could hear the voices, some he recognised and some he didn't, he stopped behind a tree, rolled up the cloak and placed it securely under his belt along with his wand. He could overhear some of what was being said and identified the voice as belonging to Lucius Malfoy.
"No sign of him My Lord." He said with an edgy undertone to his voice.
"I thought he'd come." Voldermorts voice was unmistakable and it filled Harry with anger which flitted away quickly. He couldn't afford to let his emotions get in the way or he might loose his already nonexistent nerve. He sent off a silent prayer that his friends could destroy the remaining Harcruxes with an unshakable guilt and stepped into the clearing. He saw Hagrid standing with his hands in heavy shackles, his face bruised and cut. The half giant called out too him to run, asked him what he was doing here but he pushed it out of his mind and focused every fiber of his being on Voldermort who stood from where he sat and glided across the ground like a shadow towards him. He crossed half the distance between them and regarded him with what could only be discribed as hunger. Out of the corner of his eye, Harry saw something flickering and glanced off to the side. There stood the half demon. His eyes where a misty black that emitted an eery red light and his expression was simply... demonic. There where no flames surrounding him but his ears, fangs and tail where vistable. Harry's throat constricted and he turned back to Voldermort who was speaking.
"The boy, who lived...come to die." He sighed like the phrase brought on a bittersweet comfort. He raised his wand which was surrounded by a black aura.
"Avada Kedavra."
Harry's head swam as the memory of Snape and Dumbledore shifted to another scene. The room didn't change and oddly neither did the teachers positions, the only notable difference being how light pooled in from the windows behind the headmasters desk.
"Do you believe in demons Profressor Snape?" Dumbledore asked. Snape's beady eyes narrowed for a fraction of a second.
"Why do you ask?"
"Well, we know that there are organizations in a number of other countries that are dedicated to the cause of keeping this world safe from entities from the next?" Dumbledore asked mildly, his eyes serious. Snape shifted his position.
"These are the dillusions of muggles. Exorcists are naught but fraudulent witch hunters."
"Unfortunately, it is true that demons exist and these organisations, all of which seem to be connected to a headquarters based in the Vatican, are infact Aurors, if you like, but for entities thst cannot exist in this world but can move within it by posessing material objects within it. For reasons beyond even me these beings do not inhabit all parts of the globe and have not emerged here on this island but rest asured, they exist." Snape regarded the headmaster like he had gone mad, a slight smirk curled his lips.
"Would you have me believe that this other plane of being where these 'demons' inhabit is known as 'hell' and is governed by an all powerful being named Lucifer, a fallen Angel? What do you take me for sir?" Snape asked testily. Dumbledore fixed him with a most serious expression and leaned forward in his chair.
"As a matter of fact I would, although Lucifer is another being entirely but that is besides the point. I do believe that Voldermort is trying to seek favor from some of these demons. Also, word has reached me that against the odds, Satan himself has produced an offspring born of a human woman who has inherited his fathers powers, much like Harry he was raised unknowing of his birth wright until a short while ago. You did mention that Voldermort has spent a lot of time travelling recently. At some point, maybe right as we speak, he is trying to obtain allegance with him."
"Surely you jest headmaster." Snape said distastefully although his tone wasn't as dismissive as before. Dumbledore sighed, looking as old as he ever did.
"I wish I could say so. It may not be a possibility now but if he ever manages to obtain the half son of Satan, tread carefully as that could give him an advantage the wizarding world has never seen before, nor one that it could counter."
The memory shifted and this time Snape was alone. Harry followed his line of vision and saw he was talking to the portrait of Dumbledore.
"The half demon, Harry and his friends broke into gringotts, they took the cup." The Dumbledore in the portrait chuckled.
"Alas, how could I expect any less? An interesting group, no doubt they are on their way here as we speak. So what else is on your mind professor? I doubt this was the only matter you wished to bring to my attention." Harry watched curiously as Snape pulled a familiar blue sword from under the desk and dropped it noisily on the table. "Curious. A demon sword powerful enough to contain a demons heart, forged for a purpose much opposed to keeping a demon safe in this world, I wouldn't be far off the mark in believing that this sword could kill Satan himself. I am to asume Voldermort gave it to you, an I right?" Snape nodded slowly and remained silent. The expression on the painted headmasters face darkened with each passing second. When Snape spoke again his voice was grave.
"The Dark Lord entrusted it to me with a simple instruction. 'Ensure that this befalls the half demons hands, when he draws it, I will truely obtain true immortality and invulnerability.'" The words left a stifling silance that made Harry shift uncomfortably where he knelt over the pencive. Dumbldores face was blank, the portrait could have past for a regular painting had it not been for him the elderly man blinking slowly every few minutes.
"The Dark Lords actions, or wrather his choice of words, bother me. He is already using the boys hairs but he keeps saying how he intends to utilize him in body and soul."
"Truely immortal," Dumbledore echoed while staring absently out of the painting. "He was already immortal before yes someone found a way to destroy his anchors." Dumbledores expression darkened an any remaining trace of amusement evaporated. "What would happen if he where to stumble upon a vessel that not only lives and breaths and, like Harry, could be manipulated, but one that is immune to magic and has the speed and strength beyond any regular demon, witch, wizard or muggle on this earth?" Dumbledore's voice was grave as he spoke the words that had just clicked together in Harrys mind. His pulse raced at the revilation and it took some focus for him to process Dumbledores words as he continued.
"I think I'm right in asuming that the sheath acts like a portal to somewhere else or the boys heart would not be contained, we can also asume that wherever the heart is, Voldermorts soul is also there. When the boy draws it and accesses his demonic powers, his body will become a Horcrux."
Nyahahahaha! Did anybody figure it out before now? I left plenty of hints #blows huuuge rasberry#
Until next time xXx
