POV: Lucy

"Mommy where are you?!" it's so cold as I feel myself run down the dark empty street, "I'm scared!" the cold around me bites every inch of my exposed face making it slightly hard to breathe, "Mommy answer me!" I can hear the echoes of my footsteps ricochet off of the nearby buildings and it only helps in scaring me further.
Where is everybody?
Why am I alone?
Why am I so scared?
Why can't I find my mom?
"MOMMY!"
I shoot up into a sitting position as I search my room in a frenzy feeling absolutely cold all over even though I'm sweating by the bucket full. My heart is hammering so hard against my chest that I can't breathe properly so every gulp of air I take in burns worse than the whiskey I accidentally mistook for juice some years ago.
My feet, although covered with my blanket, burn as if I had actually been running like in my nightmare and my arms feel frozen to the point where they might fall off. Even my muscles are clenched as if I had run a marathon and it only adds to the exhaustion my body is clearly going through. It's as if what I had seen was not a dream at all.
Panting, my brushes against something warm beside me and I look over to notice that it's some kind of white cloth. I pick it up with shaking hands and recognize it instantly as Natsu's scarf. It's been a whole day already since he loaned me his scarf and he hasn't come by to reclaim it. It probably has to do with the fact that my two male guardians want him far away from our house even though he technically lives only a few meters away.
Thinking about him now I can already start to feel myself calm down considerably. It's as if the mere thought of him makes the demons in my head just disappear. Funny how he's not even present and yet somehow he still continues to take care of me.
Wrapping the scarf around my neck, I lie back down and bury my nose into the warm cloth allowing the soothing scent of spice and campfire to calm me down. It works because not too long later I'm breathing evenly and my head isn't spinning so much as it had not too long ago. Even so I can't help but wonder what that dream had been about. All I remember was that I was running down a street and searching for my mom. Other than that I don't remember much.
It was kind of familiar though, almost as if I had actually lived that moment rather than just simply dreamed it. It almost feels like a memory, but I can't really put my finger on it especially since I'm quickly falling asleep again.
Oh well.
It probably wasn't so important anyway.
It's been way too long since I've last updated and once again I am so sorry. It's been hectic with my prom preparations last week and then I'm still working on my band video and now I've got graduation to worry about, so I haven't had much time to write until now. I know the chapter is short, but it's supposed to start off the ending chapters of my story. Lucy's dream will play a big role with the ending, but I guess you'll just have to see what it is.
Also, this is my final week of high school which means finals all week and then graduation practice and graduation so I'll be pretty busy. Either way I'll try to sneak in an update when I can.
