Bonus chapter! Bonus Chapter! BONUS CHAPTER!
Did you really think I would only update one small measly little chapter after disappearing for twenty days? - Yes I did the math - Well you were wrong! A second chapter is what you all deserve especially since I'm so horrible at updating on time when I promise I will.
Well here you are my fantabulous readers. A second chapter in one day just for you!
POV: Lucy
Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail
"How have you been feeling Lucy?" Porlyusica asks me as she watches me closely with her bright red eyes, "Any dizzy spells or fatigue?"
Shaking my head I take a sip of water from my small paper cup the old doctor had given me upon my arrival, "No, I've actually been feeling much better," I say as I place my empty cup on the nearby table, "Although it is hard to sleep sometimes," I admit while keeping my gaze on the pink haired woman.
"How so?" she asks while writing on her clipboard with her eyes on her work.
"I don't know, I can fall asleep easily but then I'll just wake up in the middle of the night and then I can't go back to sleep," I say even though I surely left out the part of my nightmares being what wakes me up. I'm sure she doesn't need to know that much.
Porlyusica hums and nods her head as she scribbles something on her clipboard while sighing, "It's probably the medication I've recently given you. It tends to do that to some patients, but if it continues just tell me and I'll change you back to the old one," she mutters before fixing her papers and standing up, "Well, if there's nothing else you can go. I've got to go and check on one of the residents here so I'm kind of in a hurry," she says brusquely and I nod understanding completely.
As she stands I catch a small glimpse of her papers and read the name Dragneel scrawled on top of the paper clearly catching my attention. Before she tucks the clipboard under her arm I notice the room number 777 written next to the name.
I wait in the room for a few more minutes before Mirajane walks in carrying her usual cheerful smile that never seems to waver, "Morning Lucy, how are you doing?"
Smiling back, I stand and pull on my jacket so that I can go for Laxus in the waiting room, "Doing better," I admit and the young woman's smile only brightens, "Is Laxus in the waiting room," I ask and she shakes her head.
"He told me that he needed to go pick something up nearby and to tell you that if he wasn't back by the time you got out for you to wait for him in the lobby," I nod in understanding as I follow her out of the room, "In the meantime why don't you go and visit Erza, I hear she's doing much better today."
Pausing, I stare at the floor not knowing what to do. I had been thinking of visiting her earlier, but I've always found an excuse to not come and visit with Jellal being the only one to know my hesitation. He hasn't told anyone, but continues to hover over me when he's home just like what I used to do when I was little. The only difference from then is that I was nowhere near breaking down like he had.
Nodding, I follow the silver haired nurse down the hall and towards the nearby elevator that would take us up to the third floor. The same floor I had been on when I first arrived to Magnolia about half a year ago. Only this time I wasn't the one confined to a lumpy bed with thin papery garments and flavorless hospital food.
When we reach the room Mirajane walks in after lightly knocking on the door, "Erza you have a guest," before she sighs and lightly chuckles, "I guess you fell back asleep."
I make my way around the nurse to look into the room to find the red head sound asleep in her bed looking painfully pale and slightly malnourished, a side effect that no doubt happens when your astral body leaves your real body for a long period of time. There's also the fact that Erza has a fractured ankle that's neatly wrapped in a cast and elevated by a few pillows stacked on top of each other, the same foot that only a few months ago I noticed gauze wrapped around while she limped in gym class.
She had apparently fallen from a ladder back at Fairy Hills when helping out the guys clean the gutter. Somehow the ladder slipped under her causing her to fall and hit her head pretty hard. Her concussion sent her into a coma which ultimately lead to her astral body escaping without anyone ever noticing until just a few days ago.
"Do you want to go in," Mirajane asks catching my attention.
"Umm, no. I'll come back later when she's awake. That way I'll have time to buy some flowers," I say and she nods in understanding as she closes the door behind us after we've walked into the hall, "Well I'll be going now," I say as she nods and starts walking the other way.
"Alright, you take care Lucy," she says with a wave before disappearing around the corner.
Looking at Erza's door, I stand there in the middle of the hall for a few seconds before I follow the same way Mirajane had walked towards, only instead of turning the corner I continue to go straight. It isn't long before I reach a nearby map that I look for the floor that a certain room number is supposed to be at. Apparently the room isn't that far away. If memory serves me right it wasn't all that far from the room I had been in not too long ago. The same room I always seem to be occupying.
The halls are empty aside from a few nurses walking by here and there as I make my way down the long hallways searching the numbers on the doors. It isn't long before I reach the hallway where I had caught both Juvia and Natsu whispering to each other urgently.
How do you think she'll react when she finds out the truth? Juvia had asked him bitterly.
That's if she finds out, and by the way things are going I doubt she ever will, he had answered sounding so sure of himself at the time. Funny how his plan at keeping me in the dark failed miserably.
Sighing, I walk down that very hall towards the back room which are all labeled in the 760's and up. This hall is far more empty than the last hallway with just the sound of the buzzing lights and the thick sanitary smell of the hospital to keep me company. I feel a little nervous at how empty and silent everything is in this hall. I almost get the feeling that I'm not at all welcome back here and I'm more than tempted to turn on my heel, but at the same time I feel a sort of pull that drags me even deeper.
It isn't long before I reach the end of the hall with a single wooden door standing closed in front of me with thick bold numbers reading 777 on a plaque beside the door. I look up and down the long hallway before taking in a deep breath and placing my hand on the cool metal doorknob.
Turning the knob I push the door open and am instantly greeted with the familiar sounds of beeping machines and the not so familiar sight of a man I have never met before.
OOh, Lucy's about to meet Igneel. I wonder what new things we will learn of our favorite main character Natsu next?
Alright, so fun fact. South Texas hardly ever gets any rain at all. I mean, like AT ALL. For the past few months we've had more rain than I've ever seen in all the twelve years I've lived here, not that I'm complaining much cause I LOVE the rain, and there are floods like everywhere. There have also been tornado warnings which I haven't seen since I moved from Wisconsin when I was around seven years old. Yes my friends, I am a cheesehead with mexican blood. Anywho, I just wanted to know if you all are having similar weather anomalies wherever you are living at.
Anywho, I hope you all enjoyed this chapter as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Until next time my lovelies.
