I'm back with chapter 56 of my wonderful story. Please R&R and I shall see you at the bottom of the page.
POV:
Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail
I look around at our front yard watching as Fairy Tail students enter and exit the dorms each carrying boxes of decorations and cooking supplies towards the street. I watch Makarov ordering some of the students around seeming to be yelling at a few of the more rowdy boys who keep on either breaking something or are just slacking off. It looks pretty comical from where I'm watching through the living room's window while Laxus gathers more things to take with us from the attic.
"Lucy what are you doing, I need you to go and get the box of ornaments from the staircase," I look up to find my cousin glaring down at me from the side of the stack of boxes he's already holding, "And put on a jacket before you go outside," he grumbles while being a total contradiction since he's going outside with just pants and a T-shirt on.
Sighing, I run up to my room to put on some shoes when I spot Natsu's scarf peeking out from under my pillow.
I should probably give it back to him soon, I think as I pick up the warm white cloth.
"Lucy hurry up!" Comes Laxus's voice from downstairs making me jump.
"Coming," I yell back as I pull on my jacket and stuff Natsu's scarf under it before zipping it up and heading downstairs towards where my angry cousin is waiting for me.
"So tell me again why we're going to have Thanksgiving at the school instead of the dorms," I ask while holding a heavy box of decorations and walking down the sidewalk with all the other Fairy Tail students that are heading in the same direction.
"Makarov's doing some remodeling in the kitchen so it's pretty much useless to cook our food there for the time being," Gray says while carrying his own box filled with some cooking supplies, "Besides, I doubt he wants us destroying something he just bought again."
Gajeel ducks his head in front of me no doubt remembering the incident from two years ago where he broke gramps's brand new chandelier, 'This is why we can never have nice things,' he had looked like an erupting volcano while yelling that at us.
"You guys should really learn to hold back," Levy says while holding a few cake trays in her arms from beside Gajeel while shivering slightly from the cold, "I doubt that Makarov will let you guys down easy this time for ruining the school… again," she says while glaring precisely at me.
Glaring back I ask, "Why are do you look at me when you say that?"
"Oh I don't know, it probably doesn't have to do with the fact that you're the one that tends to start fighting for no good reason," Gray says while rolling his eyes from beside me with his jacket and shirt already missing somehow even though he's carrying two heavy boxes in his arms.
"Gray your clothes," Cana says from behind him while holding up both his shirt and his jacket with her gloved hand.
"Shit!"
"Just promise us that you'll behave," Levy says sounding more serious than earlier, "This is Lu's first Thanksgiving with her family and the last thing that we need is for it to be ruined in any way."
"Not to mention that Erza's coming back tomorrow after all those months in the hospital," Cana adds while holding Gray's boxes as he puts his clothes back on making the atmosphere grow heavy around us.
"You mean Lucy's never had Thanksgiving with her Grandfather and cousins?" Gray asks once he finishes zipping up his jacket.
Levy shakes her head mournfully while keeping her eyes trained ahead of her, "No, usually she'd spend it with her mother or the servants since her dad was always working overtime. I think this is the first Thanksgiving that she'll be having outside of Crocus since her mom passed away."
We walk in silence mulling over what Levy had just told us. I knew that Lucy used to visit Magnolia during the summer and winter with her parents to see her family, but I never knew that Thanksgiving was such a lonely holiday for her.
Sighing, I duck my head while mumbling, "I'll try my best," to everyone's astonishment. It's mostly because right about now I'd be complaining or putting the blame on someone else for my fighting.
"Yeah, let's make sure Lucy has the best Fairy Tail Thanksgiving she has ever had!" Cana cheers while pumping a fist up in the air earning cheers from the other teenagers walking beside me.
Yeah, I'll make sure Lucy has the most memorable Thanksgiving ever.
It's been so long since I've updated this early. I feel like we should celebrate.
