Disclaimer, you know.
The next morning Alex awoke to the sound of rain pouring outside. He looked around the tent and couldn't find Dorothy. He sighed, got up and grabbed his jacket before walking out of the tent only to find Dorothy sitting under an umbrella with her back facing the tent, she appeared to be meditating. He smiled and turned to go back into the tent.
"Alex, wait." Dorothy said called as she got up and walked over to him.
"How could you possibly know that I was there? You had your back facing me." Alex said.
"Lucky guess." Dorothy said smiling
"So, have you come up with a legitimate plan yet?" Alex asked curiously
"The attack on the city will be tomorrow, my plan can only be worked out from there." Dorothy said.
"So same as yesterday?" Alex asked.
"Yep." Dorothy replied kissing him on the cheek.
Alex blushed a bit and smiled. He had faith that Dorothy would eventually think of something. His thoughts however were broken by a loud crack of thunder.
"The weather just keeps getting worse." Alex said.
"I know, and it's worrying me." Dorothy said
"I can imagine, but there isn't really anything we can do about it." Alex said.
"Tomorrow we will be able to." Dorothy said trailing off.
"Dorothy, I know that you're worried, I know you don't want to do this, but it has to end." Alex said.
"Alex, please be quiet, I don't really want to think about it right now." Dorothy replied.
Alex sighed and walked back into the tent with Dorothy following after him. During their time outside it seemed that everyone else had awoken.
"Dorothy?" Ellie asked.
"Yes Ellie?" Dorothy replied.
"Are you feeling okay?" Ellie asked curiously.
"Ellie, I'm fine, you guys really shouldn't worry about me as much as you do." Dorothy replied as she sat down on the bed.
No one said anything at this point everyone just sort of migrated to the back of the tent, no one said a word knowing that Dorothy would hear it regardless. Dorothy sighed and laid back on the bed. In her mind she knew this was unavoidable and regardless everyone would worry about her. Turning her head in Alex's direction she found him trying not to me her gaze. She started to sigh again but was interrupted by Toto jumping up onto her along with pockets.
"You're not sulking are you?" Toto asked curiously.
"No Toto I'm not sulking." Dorothy said.
Toto barked and licked Dorothy on the cheek causing her to giggle. Pockets however jumped off of Dorothy and onto to the bed where she curled up into a ball.
"Dorothy, my sister is coming, and I assume she's going to want to talk to you." Ellie said.
"That wouldn't surprise me." Dorothy said holding out her hand causing the scepter to fly towards it.
"Dorothy?" came Glinda's voice as she walked into the tent.
"Hey I was right." Ellie said.
Dorothy looked at Ellie and sighed. She then picked Toto up with her free hand and set him next to pockets before pushing herself into a sitting position.
"Yes Glinda?" Dorothy replied.
"Dorothy, I know you were outside meditating a few minutes ago before Alex interrupted you, I really think you should go back to meditating, it seems to keep you calm and collected." Glinda said.
"Alex didn't interrupt me at least not on purpose, he was actually trying not to disturb me from what I could tell." Dorothy said.
"Well still I think you should go meditate some more." Glinda said.
Dorothy sighed and got up. Leaning the scepter next to the bed she grabbed the umbrella and went back outside. Glinda then turned to Alex.
"Alex, I won't tell you not to bother her, but she needs to be as calm as we can get her for the invasion tomorrow, the more she worries about it, the more she gets upset thinking about it, the harder it will be for her to do what has to be done." Glinda said.
"Glinda, that's still not going stop her from worrying about it later." Alex said
"I know but it will help, anyways, you should be preparing for tomorrow as well." Glinda replied before walking out of the tent.
Alex sighed and turned to Ellie who shrugged. They all knew Glinda was right, they knew Dorothy needed to be relaxed. But they all knew that no matter what Dorothy really didn't want to do this.
Well I know this chapter was short, but the story is soon going to come to an end.
