LLL- Sooo there's been a change of plans. This chapter won't be methods of getting Levi's memory back... some of this chapter is actually kind of explicit and Should go in the "painful connection/pain in love" story but I just don't feel like splitting it up to the point that it doesn't make since. SO you've been warned
Levi- Just be good little readers and don't report her.
LLL- Don't be rude, Lance.
Levi- You don't own AOT/SNK so don't tell me what the hell to do.
LLL- your words hurt... OH! Also, the extra chapter of what Armin does to distract the miliary police has been added to the "Painful Connection/Pain in Love" Story, Chapter 4 Check it out when you want!
Levi takes a short bath, trying to mentally absorb everything that has occurred tonight. On a certain level this has all simply annoyed him. He lost his memory because he lost a fight? That must be a lie. There's no way in hell he'd lose to anyone. These reoccurring headaches aren't making things easy on him. What must be done in order to straighten things out?
He steps out and wraps a towel around his waste, grabbing the clothes he'd worn that day. Levi walks out of the bathroom, hair dripping and goes into his own room. Eren is sitting anxiously on the bed with no shirt. His face is nuetral but his green eyes are smiling. Levi gives him an expressionless glare. "What are you doing?"
"You said we'll sleep together. I'm just waiting for you-ahhhhh~~" Eren covers his mouth as a yawn escapes and a tear runs down his face. It is late and Eren has probably been up for hours.
"Go ahead and lay down. I need to get dressed." Eren doesn't reply. He lays his head down on Levi's pillow. It smells strangely of lemons and fresh linens. As if it had gotten washed only ten minutes ago. Eren finds himself smearing his face in the pillow. Levi releases an aggravated sigh, his eyebrow twitching. "Your face better be clean."
"huyuworbmaf istsemph..."
"Lift your damn head, I can't understand you."
Eren lifts up, taking a deep breath as if he were under water. "I said you don't have to worry. I know how you are." Eren lays his head back down. "I just didn't expect it to smell like this."
"What's wrong with the way it smells?" Levi's voice sounds threatening.
"Nothing. It's just that since you lost your memory you've been different towards me." He freezes looking into the distance, his memories taking over. "But smelling this, I know you haven't changed at all." Eren's voice fades. Levi has already put his pants on and is now sliding on his shirt, thinking about Eren's words just now.
"I'm not a different person. I'm just missing a few points."
Hearing Levi's voice so low makes Eren guilty for even bringing it up and he changes the subject. "So you worked with Armin today?" Eren opens his mouth wide with a another yawn and his voice becomes softer. "How was that?"
"Well I guess..." Levi comes to a sudden halt and his eyes go wide. "Armin!" Levi quickly runs to his door and slides his boots on.
Eren sits up urgently. "What's wrong?"
"There's something I've got to do. I forgot about it completely."
Eren swings his feet over the bed. "What is it? I'll help."
"No," Levi insists. "I got this. It's not that big of a deal. Besides, you're tired. Get some sleep. I'll be back."
Levi dashes out of the room and Eren stares after him. Heart throbbing. "So he wasn't that nice because he loved me. It was just a part of him."
Levi runs out of the house and through the darkened district. He makes his way down into the prison and looks around frantically for Armin. All he sees his Erwin, Hange and the prisoner Ymir.
"Something wrong, Levi?" Erwin asks with a straight face.
"Where is Armin? I told him I'd be back to help with Christa but..."
"No need to worry, Cap," Hange smiles. "Erwin took care of it." She looks him up and down, observing his choice of attire. He is wearing a striped pajama shirt, loose brown pants and his scouting boots. It isn't the best match. Not to mention his hair is slightly wet.
Levi relaxes a bit. "How?"
Erwin crosses his arms and leans against the wall. "I took Christa to the Military Police and told them she escaped, then I scolded them for not being of good use and fulfilling their duties as they should have."
Levi runs his hand through his hair, considering that choice of action. "That could make things harder on Christa but it's her fault for asking to get out in the first place." Levi shrugs his shoulders with lack of sympathy. He then looks thoroughly around the prison another time. "If you took her then where is Armin?"
"He was worried that the guards would be angry and do something to her so he went to go check on her."
Levi's eyes widen. His furiosity shows clearly in his tone of voice. "And you let him go alone!"
Erwin raises a confused eyebrow. "Was I not supposed to?"
Levi doesn't answer this question. He runs out of the prison. Seconds later he returns. "Do either of you have a knife on you?"
Hange smiles and reaches into her pocket, holding it up. "I've got one but..." He doesn't let her finish her sentence before grabbing it and running out again.
Erwin sends her a disappointed glance. "Why would you give that to him?" He sticks his hands in his pockets and walks slowly across the prison, patience wavering.
Levi wastes no time and makes route to the house Christa is being held in. He hides behind a nearby building just close enough so he can see but far enough not to be seen. There is no one guarding the door and he advances slowly. He makes his way to the door and puts his hands on the knob. Just as he is about to enter, he hears a rustle.
All of his muscles freeze in action and he closes his eyes in an attempt to focus his hearing. There is another rustle and a light squeal. This little sound is loud enough for Levi to find his prey. He runs around the side of the building and in the darkness his eyes glow of evil.
On the ground he sees the 2 Military Police with their pants around their knees. Armin is between the two, shirt ripped open and chest exposed. His hands are tied behind his back with his belt and his mouth is gagged with fabric from his torn shirt. Armin's pants are thrown somewhere in the shadows. It's too dark to really see any details.
One of the men fall to the ground and scrambles backwards as Levi walks towards Armin. Levi steps on the leg of one of the men, breaking it. He bends down to one knee and unties the smaller boy's hands then moves to the gag. Levi looks at the ground as he takes the cloth out of Armin's mouth, not wanting to see the teared, blue eyes. It's dark around the side of the house but that much is visible. "I'm sorry. This is my fault. Had I been back when I said... no, had I not left you to begin with this wouldn't have happened. I was selfish."
"Levi," Armin breathes. He is surprised by how gentle Levi's touch is despite his visual rage. One of the Military Police soldiers tries to get up and run but Levi throws the knife with great speed and precision directly into the man's leg.
He falls with a pained grunt and Levi stands up, death surrounding him. "What? What were you filthy beings going to do when you were finished with him? Of course he'd tell us. Were you going to kill him? Did you think you'd get away with it?" Levi walks past the man whose leg he broke and to the other. His footsteps are like venom with every step he takes. He yanks his knife out of the man's leg and his scream sounds throughout the darkened alley.
"P..please. Don't kill us. We-we'll do anything!"
"Don't you think you've done enough?" Levi suddenly hears Armin throwing up behind him and he can barely control his own rage. "Did you put it in him?" There is no answer from either one of the sick men. Levi tosses his knife behind him and hits the other man in the arm without even looking. The yell confirms that he made a direct hit. "I said, did you rape him?"
"Argghh-yes," grunts a voice behind him. "He tricked us. Took the girl."
Levi patiently walks back to the other man and retrieves his knife. The yells are like music to him but the bile in the back of his throat remains. "No. I tricked you and now, I will kill you." Again, Levi walks to the other, teasing them with the very threat of his footsteps. Levi bends down and grabs the penis of the man he stabbed in the leg. "Tell me, did it feel good?"
To him, Levi is nothing but an evil shadow. "I-I didn't do anything."
"Oh, so you were next. I guess I interrupted. Accept my apology." With that, Levi swings the knife, chopping off what makes the soldier a man and tosses it to the ground. His yell cuts through the darkness as Levi's blade had cut through him. "Don't worry. I'll kill you soon."
Levi stands and turns only to see the other soldier struggling to get away. Having lost so much blood, his movements are slow but he has at least made it around the corner. Levi runs to him, wasting no time and slices the back of his legs. The man falls desperately and Levi towers over him. "You took the innocence of one of my men. I won't let you live another second." Levi raises his hand, ready to drive the knife straight through the man's chest.
"LEVI!"
He halts in mid air and both of them look over to the side. Erwin is walking towards them. "Drop the knife."
Levi's hair is resting on his face, drenched with sweat. It covers his eyes. "He deserves to die."
"Judging by his state I believe you, but there are better ways to handle these types of situations. I'll take care of this."
Levi looks back at Armin who is leaning against the building, bloodied and almost completely naked. "Fine," Levi hisses. He shoves the knife through the man's chest and twists. Blood pours out of him. Slowly Levi stands up straight, hands dark red with blood. He walks over without making eye contact with Erwin and picks up Armin, cradling him in his arms. "You can take care of them now."
Erwin's eyes are wide with disbelief. One from Levi's actions and two from the condition of Armin. He hadn't even seen him around that corner. Levi walks with Armin the entire way back to the house, thoughts clouded. When the two are in the light, Levi can see the damage done to Armin. His skin is pale but his cheeks are red. There is a cut on his lip and he has a black eye. He is breathing heavily.
As Levi is studying him, his eyes blink open weakly. "Levi, it wasn't your fault. I was careless and..."
"Just shut up," Levi mumbles. "You need to rest." When they are back at the house, Levi lays Armin in the tub and gently cleans him. Armin cringes a few times but not once does he complain.
"You remind me of Eren." Armin's words are light now as he lays in the water. Levi simply sits next to him, listening without speaking. "When we were young I was always picked on. I was always smaller then everyone else. He used to come to help me. He'd come to save me countless times." Armin huffs out a laugh. "But he never actually won."
There is a sudden knock at the door. Levi sighs brashly. "Don't come in."
The door still opens and Eren walks in with a smile. "I thought you said you..." His words freeze when he sees Armin. His lip is busted, his eye is black, and his body is bruised and scratched in mulitple places. Not to mention the washcloth is covered in blood. Eren immediately runs to the bath side. "What happened!"
Armin shows a forced and weak smile. "It's a long story." Eren looks over a Levi but the lance is looking away from them both.
"Levi," Armin says. "Thank you for helping me. Eren can take it from here." He quickly looks up at Armin and sees the smile on his face. Levi nods considerably and stands with a stretch.
"Alright. I'm tired anyway. Try to get some rest." With that, Levi walks out. He doesn't feel content with just leaving the two and stands next to the door. For some reason he feels completely responsible for what happened to Armin. He didn't save him.
"Tell me what happened."
"I went back to make sure Christa was okay after a few things happened and apparently the Military Police got scolded and figured out that I had tricked them. I got too close to them and they dragged me around the corner. I couldn't move at all... I bit one of them when he put his hand over my mouth but I was just too small. They gagged me and...and..." Armin places his hand over his mouth, the memory making him sick.
Despite being confused by most of that Eren gets the gist of what happened and doesn't push for details. "They-they did that to you?" Armin says nothing. "And Levi stopped him." That's why he left.
Armin regains his stomach and exhales deeply. "I see why you love him, Eren."
"What?"
"Don't worry, I don't feel anything for him, but I understand. I never knew his personality before he lost his memory, but now I see. He's understanding. Why don't you just tell him how you feel?"
Eren thinks about this and leans his back against the wall. "I just can't. I know how he felt about Petra. He loved her and he lost her all over again. Not to mention I am a distraction. It's because of me that he lost that fight to Mikasa. It's my fault his memory is gone. I don't bring anything but misfortune to his life. I can't stand to see myself do that to him all over again."
"You love him that much, huh?"
"So much it hurts, but as long as he's okay, I can make it."
Armin groans in pain and his hand moves in the water. "Hey Eren, you and Levi had sex, right?"
Eren's face turns red. "Uhm...well yeah. A few times."
"Did it hurt this bad?"
Eren's face then becomes serious. "It was nothing like that. What those men did to you was torture..."
"I don't want to talk about it." Armin interrupts, closing his eyes. "Have you thought of a way to get Levi's memory back?"
Eren sighs. "Actually I was just planning to give up."
The water shifts as Armin lifts himself up. It spills out of the tub and onto Eren. "What! Eren you can't. You may think Levi is better this way but I know he isn't. I heard what he said to you after Mikasa kicked him. Everyone heard it. Don't you remember? He said he has you to play...
"...the strong part when I want."
"Right!" Armin smiles. His expression slowly changes when he realizes Eren wasn't the one who said those words. They both look over to the door and see Levi standing there, eyes neutral.
"How-how did you remember that?" Eren asks, unable to breath correctly. He is in shock and his hopes have raised that Levi's memory is getting better.
"I don't know." Levi mumbles. "It just seemed familiar..."
Armin smiles and he leans against the bath. Levi walks closer, trying to forget what he just uttered. "Armin, you look sick. You need to get in the bed." Together Eren and Levi help Armin out of the tub. They take him to his room and dress him before laying him in his own bed. He falls asleep within a matter of minutes.
Levi and Eren walk back to Levi's room in silence. They are both not comfortable with speaking. Levi's clothes have blood on them and he hadn't even noticed. Eren walks and sits on the bed while Levi changes. "Ugh. What a nuisance. Erwin is going to give me hell tomorrow."
"How'd you know about what was going to happen to Armin?" Eren asks. His words eat away at the silence in the room as Levi puts on the next set of night clothes.
"Because I made a mistake. I was just too late to fix it." Levi walks over to the bed and looks down at Eren. "Scoot over."
"Alright." Eren does as he is told and shuffles farther to the side. Levi takes his place and the two lay down under the covers. It's a feeling that Eren misses. Levi's back faces Eren and the half titan is desperate to be closer. Eren sighs.
"What's wrong?"
"Oh!" Eren is startled, not expecting him to say anything. "I... How did you remember what you said?"
Levi shifts in the covers. "I didn't."
"Oh." Eren doesn't bother with further questions. He really is mentally exhausted and closes his eyes.
"Did I really say that to you?"
"Huh?"
"That you play the strong part..."
"Uhm, yeah. You did."
"Petra used to tell me that I'm not as strong as I think and I shouldn't play the strongest soldier all the time. She told me how relieved I'd feel if I had someone take the load off and do it for me. I never believed her." Levi goes silent for a minute and Eren wonders if he should speak. The only thing he can really see is the captain's black hair. Suddenly Levi's voice sounds again. "If I said those words to you, I wish I could remember. I must have really loved you."
Eren moves closer so that he is spooning Levi, making the captain cringe. Levi is close to elbowing him in the stomach but he suddenly feels Eren face in the back of his neck. "Your scent is the same. You're the same person. Your memory being gone doesn't mean your heart has changed. It just means that the plan has changed."
Levi doesn't want to speak. Eren's arm has made its way over and on top of his own arm. "To what?"
"I'll have to get you to fall in love with me all over again."
