I was sitting on stage writing lyrics as me and the twins waited on Carrie. She was always late when she found a gig for us. "Where do you think Carrie booked us for now?" I heard Kim and Konnie ask each other the same question excitedly. It didn't really bother me. I was planing on writing a song for Carrie. Yeah, you heard me. I was writing a song for my best friend so she'll know how I feel. I'm planning on singing it to her at the annual Peaceville February Dance but, that's most likely where she got the gig for us... Which is actually apart of my plan. Right then when I was writing down the chorus, Carrie flew right it after she lifted the garage door wide open. "Guys! YOU"LL NEVER GUESS WHERE WE BOOKED US!" I smiled as I shut my lyric book with my pencil in side. "The Peaceville 20th Annual February Dance?" "THE PEACEVI- Wait, how did you know about it?" I pointed to the poster on the ground beside her. "Those are everywhere in town. Are we the only ones performing?" She shook her head sadly. "Sadly, no Lens. We're the opening act for some boy group call The Heart Rebels... Weird name for a boy band but eh." She shrugged at the end. "At least we're performing." I nodded. Yep everything is according as planed. "There's weirder names Carrie. When do we perform?!" Kim is a little more excited about the gig then I thought. "Tonight at 2:00 and right now is 11:30. I say we practice our song and then pack up and put our stuff in Mina's car." I could tell Carrie didn't like calling her Mina instead of Bernadette. "Alright. Then let's practice." I picked up my bass off it's guitar stand and made sure it was in tune. She smiled at me before grabbing her guitar. "Konnie girl, you know what to do." Konnie began tapping her drum sticks yelling out the usual 'One, two, three four.' before we began to perform our song. (I don't need to go over 2,000 words again so just listen to any song you like right here. XD) Thirty minutes later we were putting our instruments in Mina's car before we drove off.
As me, the girls and Lenny started set up the stage at 12:30, I could easily tell everyone of my band mates were excited. I couldn't blame them either, Grojband been taking our gigs left and right. But, I could easily tell Lens was more excited then the twin combined. He must have been hoping for a gig and I'm happy I found one. Usually Lens will find stuff like this but he's been more into writing in his black and red book then helping me find stuff but, he's my best friend so I forgave him for it instantly. "Hey Lens! Can you help me with this amp?" He nodded as me before putting his book away and walking over to the band logo covered amp. "Thanks." Me and Lens started to push the amp over to Kim's side as he gave me a quick 'No problem Care'. An hour and twenty minutes later I was holding my guitar strumming a quick few notes to warm up my hands as Lens was flipping his lucky coin. I think I was playing to fast because Lens started to worry. "You alright Care? You never really play that fast unless your nervous or trying to play a solo." I rubbed my hands together which showed him my answer. "Yep your nervous. Come on Care. You know this song inside and out, your going to be fine." I took a deep breathe in just to hear Mayor Mellow announce us on stage. "Come on, you'll be fine." He then put his hand over his heart. "Promise." We both then went on stage to heard the crowd go nuts. I walked up to the mic holding my guitar in a light death grip. "Hello everyone, we're The Newmans!" The crowd screamed out happily before Konnie counted us in.
After we performed I hid back stage to see my brother Mike and two of his friends Dustin and Daniel. I switched my bass to a guitar and handed my bass to Daniel. "Let's do this." I put on a red and black hood and put the hood up so no one could see who I was. The guys did the same. "Now up next are The Heart Rebels!" Me and the my brother's friends ran on stage as the crowd went wild. "Hey Peaceville! We're The Heart Rebels!" The crowd screamed out happily like before. "Now, before we perform I got to say that I've been taking my time with this song and I've wrote it about a special girl in my life and I want her to know, this is for you Care." The crowd awed as all of us took our hoods off as Mike started to tap us in. I instantly began playing my guitar.

I noticed that Carrie was smiled and had a tear walled up in her eye as the twins were gushing. I could easily tell they were screaming, "He finally admitted it!" I smiled keeping my eyes on Care as the crowd started to clap,scream and whistle. They're right, I finally admitted it and I feel like I'm at the top of the world now. I can finally be Care's hero and I'm excited about that.
