Today was going to be an awesome day. It was my fifteenth birthday, the boys decided to plan a party, and I had a surprise of my own for my best friend. Core has been my best friend since I can remember. We were inseparable growing up and the teachers we had and all the adults we knew known about it so they never tried breaking us apart. I can't even count the years we known each other on one hand. We first met when we were fife and our parents thought it would be a good thing if they had us go on a play date. It turned out well as you could guess. To me Core's perfect but, now and then his A.D.H.D and O.C.D get a hold on him. Ever since we started the band with our friends Kin and Kon, he'll never play a gig with out tuning is guitar 6 times and twice with his feet. We were late a few times. But today was going to be perfect and I was going to make sure it was. I decided to write Core a song about everything. The things he pulled me into, to everything he doesn't know like my obvious crush on him. Well, it's obvious to everyone but him... Even the twins know and they thought I was a guy till we were fourteen and puberty hit all of us like rocks. Anyway, the twins know my plan and Corey has no clue what so ever. Which is perfect because Carrie and The Newmans are in this too. Yeah I know what your saying 'but you and The BooMens are enemies!' Well not anymore! We stopped fighting after Middle School when we found out me and Lenny were long lost siblings. Which I was happy for because then I didn't need to waste ten bucks a month on aspirin. and if you were me you'll get why. I was walking down to the Groj when I seen Carrie and Lenny standing in front of me. "Hey Laney. Happy birthday." I smiled at the two as we walked together to the Groj. "Thanks you two. Today is going to be awesome!" My brother laughed at me as Carrie just smirked. As I said we knew my plan and she guess that I had a crush on Core since we started being friends, which is weird because she's obvious like Corey when is comes to Lenny. We stopped at the Groj and as I lifted the Groj door I could hear them trying to quiet down. I smiled and lifted the door as fast as I could to see Kin and Kon holding confetti poppers and those high pitched spinners as Corey and Trina, yes I said Trina, were wearing birthday hats, Core's was red as Trina's was pink as they made a confetti cannon go off. I smiled as I notice the other group of twin holding a Happy Birthday Laney Poster up as they all screamed "HAPPY B-DAY LANEY!" I smiled and started laughing as I noticed Lenny was pointing at the confetti cannon. "Nice touch with the cannon." Right then Mina and Nick appeared. "Nick Mallory is afraid Mina Beff and Nick Mallory are late for the surprise." I smiled and waved to them. "Nope your just on time. Trina and Corey already used the cannon though." I seen Core nervously waved as Trina waved at the two.

After a while everyone started to have fun. Nick and Mina had to leave early though when Mina forgot that she had a college class in the morning and Nick was her ride home. The rest of use stayed because it was only a Saturday and Trina had no classes tomorrow. It was 11:30 when I decided it was time for the surprise. "It's time guys." I whispered to the Kin and Kon before they nodded and went on stage. "Alright everyone. I got something to say." I got on the stage as everyone smiled at me. I picked up Carrie's guitar,which she happily allowed me to barrow, before I walked back to Core's blue handled mic. It was the one I got for him on his twelve birthday. I smiled as I looked to Core. "I have a song that I dedicate to the closest person to me in my live." I noticed he smiled as I heard Kin and Kon's first few notes before joining in but, I kept my eyes on Corey as I started to sing.

Everyone cheered at the end. I smiled as I looked at Corey who was smiling like a fool. He oddly mouthed to me 'Meet you out side the garage'. I nodded to him slightly so no one but him noticed. About ten minutes later of people just dancing and singing along with the recorded music we had, I slipped out side unnoticed with Corey. "What did you need to talk to me about?" He smiled and hugged me with out talking. I could notice I was blushing. "I'm into you too Lanes." I KNEW my blush got worst then. "Bro wise or -" Right then he kissed me making me almost lose my strength in my knees. My face felt hot and I could feel my blush getting worst as I kissed him back. After a minute later, we broke apart for air. "You're my best friend Lanes." I could feel a frown creeping down my face. Even after a kiss like that he still just thought of me as his best friend? "But." I looked at him as he smiled and his blue eyes were filled with happiness. "I guess your more then that now huh?"
