LLL- You've been waiting for it and here it is. The Last Chapter! ^_^ Enjoy. If you write fanfic then you understand how much a writer loves reviews. They are 76% the reason for doing what we do and loving it. SO keep those heart warming reviews coming. Oh and the smut from chapter 31 is in Painful Connection/Pain in Love if you wanna check it out.

Eren and Levi walk through the district early in the morning. A breeze blows past them that is slightly cold. Eren yawns and Erwin walks up next to them.

He doesn't even make eye contact before speaking, keeping his head straight. "Had a rough night Eren? You're walking strange." Eren panics mentally, eyes going wide and Erwin laughs. "Just kidding."

"What do you want?" Levi mumbles.

"The Military Police are curious about the man. They say his name is Dietrich and..."

"Yeah, Yeah. We know about him. What about Ava?"

"Oh, the woman? They have yet to mention her. I assume they aren't suspicious. But Eren, they are pissed that you are still missing. They asked me where you were and searched the house but after seeing you weren't there they let us off the hook."

Eren groans. "I should go on back now I guess."

Levi grabs his wrist. "You're not going anywhere."

Eren pulls away. "I need to."

"I'll be damned if..."

Eren snatches his arm away from Levi, getting the Lance's attention. And slightly pissing him off. "Levi, I don't know how long you've known Luca but I've been with him for a year now. I know how to handle him and if I don't go back, he will take it out on the Scouting Regiment. I'll tell him I've been looking for Dietrich. So let me go."

"Tch. Whatever." He doesn't make eye contact with Eren.

Erwin admires the fact that his stubbornness has not changed. "I need you to come with me today Levi. We've got a lot to discuss. Soleanna is doing much better today." Eren leans down and pecks Levi's cheek before jogging in the direction of the Military Police Headquarters. Levi still does not acknowledge the affection or the annoying leap of his heart. He simply starts walking and Erwin trails behind him. "Ymir gave me a briefing on what occurred yesterday. I didn't give approval to infiltrate the Military Police."

"Your point?"

Erwin sighs. "The point is, what if you were caught?"

"We weren't. Next point."

"Ok." He gives up. "We now know how all of our information was getting leaked to the Military Police. It was Ava. I didn't know she had a relationship with you. Care to explain?"

"No."

"Levi..."

"Listen!" He stops walking and looks Erwin dead in the eyes. "We're not going to work by digging up the past. If that's what you want then do it elsewhere but what we are dealing with now is not going to be helped by my past. Yes, I was close to Ava, that was my mistake. I gave her information that put the Scouting Legion in danger. Is that what you want to hear?"

Erwin steps up. "I'm not concerned with your past. I never have been. What I want is to figure out a way to prevent future mistakes and keep my team safe, including you. That requires your cooperation whether you like it or not. Nothing has changed since you've entered the Survey Corps. I know how you work. I know what makes you tick and explode. If that's what it takes to get you to talk then I'll take that chance."

Levi turns away "Tch, don't toy with me." He starts walking.

Erwin smirks. "But it's fun." With that he follows behind.

Levi leads them to a building the Survey Corps uses for meetings. The bottom floor is a simple living area but the second is a well staged meeting room. A large table with various chairs surrounding sits in the middle and a flag with the wings of freedom hangs on the wall. Armin sits in his favorite soft red chair while Ymir is across from him in a wooden chair with her feet on the table. She is messing with her nails. "Well Good Morning Eyebrows and Short Stack."

"You will die," Levi growls.

"A titan and Lance in the middle of the district. It should be an interesting battle."

"You'll be titan steam before you get the chance to transform."

"Play nicely kids." Erwin takes his seat in a brown chair and Levi in a black chair at the end of the table. Scattered across the middle of the table are papers. "What have you got for us Armin?" It has become routine that Armin analyses all data and gives his take on it. Of course everyone (except Levi) has seen the papers, but Armin always seems to have a better understanding of everything when given the whole picture of the puzzle.

His face is troubled. His mood is not as light as the others. Although Levi had lost his memory, everything that occurred with Armin after the fact had stuck with him. The two are close.

"Well, from what Eren brought, it seems that Ava is a really important member of the Military Police. She is a higher up. They call her one of the Elders. There are two of them. She has habits of disappearing for days, even weeks at a time."

Erwin nods. "That explains their lack of concern..."

"But when they find out, hell will break loose."

"What's bothering you?" Levi snaps.

"Huh...?"

"I don't want to be too long with this and you're going to take us over the wall and back with this information before you tell us what really matters. Get to it." Levi leans up to the table seriously.

Armin gulps. "Have you guys read these files?" The group takes another look at the papers on the table. It is literally multiple essays of information. Armin is the only person who could read that much. They couldn't do it if they tried... and they didn't! When the silence persists, Armin continues speaking. "Ava... she was doing tests on titans. Reiner knew about it. So did Bertholdt. There were a lot more fields of these herbs. She had them all destroyed with fear that the titans would fight back. She wanted to monopolize the herb but she needed people who knew how to work with it. Doctors. Eren's dad and others. The herb increases a titan's power. She was going to use it to create another wall using titans."

Ymir is now sitting up. "What..."

"She knew who each shifter was. You. Annie. Eren. All of them and that means the Military Police knows too. I don't know how it would work and I don't even think she knew but she already started her plan. Tests she performed on Eren..."

Levi's heart rate increases. "What did they do to him?" He tries not to sound too worked up.

"They...they cut him. Multiple times. Had sex with him to see if he could reproduce. Pulled off finger nails and burned him until he couldn't heal anymore. Then they injected him with the herb. Over and over..." Armin isn't able to speak anymore. Levi is squeezing the arm of the chair so hard that the cracks can be heard by everyone.

Ymir sits back, thinking intently. "That herb, I've told you that a titan can gain an addiction to it. They take too much and they lose who they are as a titan... forgetting. But it's not simply an addiction. Without it, they lose their minds. They lose who they are as a human. Rampage and later, dying. We develop a dependency for it. We can't live without it. If she gave as much to Eren as Armin says..."

Armin clears his throat in an attempt to find his voice. "From the looks of the data results, Eren couldn't turn into a titan for some time. He became fearful of turning but when he did his height increased tremendously as well as his overall power. He gained a few abilities that he hasn't mastered yet. Such as hardening his skin like Reiner and Annie and ordering other titans...As far as the Military Police are concerned, he's the only titan that can do this. He's the only one with the ability to order titans to do certain things. They took him outside of the wall for some of the tests they ran."

"What the fuck!" Levi punches the table. A splintering hole is where is fist is. Armin flinches back. "Why the hell didn't he tell us."

"Now we gotta replace the table," Ymir sighs.

"I'm sure he had his reasons. Technically he did tell us. If it wasn't for him we wouldn't have any of this information" Erwin adds.

"Or he felt bad. He knows what he needs." Ymir huffs. "Sure, the stupid plant increases power but it makes you miserable. First you want to forget you're a titan, but when you can't get anymore you want to rage and kill everyone. Either that or find more. If there is none, you're just weak."

"If you know all of this why are you still alive."

"Levi!"

"No," Ymir calms Erwin ."It's ok. I didn't take it a lot like Reiner and Berthold because I didn't have trouble staying human. I had something to keep me grounded. I could do without more power because only one thing mattered to me. Eren was forced it. I'm sure all he knows is that he wants more. I doubt he read all of this shit. I'd be surprised if he could even spell his own name. I'm sure his testers didn't explain his situation. He doesn't know what's wrong with him. He stayed with Military Police and now we know why."

"And he probably just didn't want to get you involved knowing you'd set fire to the place," Erwin says.

Levi stands from his chair.

Erwin glares at him. "Levi..."

"WHAT!"

"Sit Down! The meeting is not over."

"There is a bit more," Armin informs. "But if you're going to become homicidal you probably shouldn't hear this part."

Levi exhales brashly and takes a seat. "I'm fine. Continue."

"It seems that the only known place left with the herb is the within Wall Rose, in the Military Police Building. Test results are transferred everyday along with samples. But there are only two people who know how to cultivate the herb. One of them is dead, Ava. That leaves the other Elder. He is the only one who knows how to keep the herb alive and growing. If anything happens to him..."

"Do you think Mikasa knows about any of this?" Ymir asks.

"No. She would have killed everyone in the Military Police by now. I'm sure Eren kept her in the dark."

Ymir stares at the ceiling. "I guess Eren isn't a moron after all."

Levi stands up, unable to listen any longer. He walks out of the door, ignoring Erwin's call. When he is down the stairs he hears someone right behind him. He turns around, prepared to fight Erwin to the death only to be face to face with Armin. "Where are you going?" His voice is shaking and Levi looks into his crystal blue eyes.

"I'm going to..."

"Do what? Barge into the Military Police building and kill everything with a pulse until you find the Elder?"

"If that's what it takes."

"You're not normally like this." You usually think things out."

"I did think it out."

"Do you want Eren to die? Did you consider that? If you do then go ahead. I won't stop you." His voice has no force. He's gentle but strong. "But I'm going to do what I can to make sure as few lives as possible are lost. Including yours. You may not think it but you're important Levi. To me. To the team. Please don't be reckless."

To most people Levi'd reply with, 'my life is meaningless.' But Armin isn't most people. He's a special case. Levi places his hand on Armin's head, ruffling his blonde mushroom top and his eyes widen as they connect with Levi's. The two are the closest to each other then the other members, not only in height but friendship.

"Alright," Levi smirks. "You take the lead." There is a tear in Armin's eye when he nods and turns to go back up the steps. "Oh, and Armin." For a person to be able to make him this calm when he's on the verge of massacre. It's like the old days.

"Yeah?" Armin turns.

"Thanks."
